The best, safest, and efficient doweling jig I have seen on YT! There is no waste like on most jigs that leave some square stock remaining. The adjustability both in diameter and length wise has not been addressed with other jigs I have seen. With the added bonus of making tampered stock as well!! Well thought out.
This is a great jig! I like the way that tapered turnings can be made, which are difficult to create with a perfectly gradual lathe even on a lathe! Thanks for sharing this and keep up the great work!
That's a great thing and I REALLY need to make one small scale to make 10mm dowels about 40mm long. I'm worried about deflection into the blade on diameters that small. I have a tool for making them now but it's a bit rough cut when it's done and I lose too much size sanding them smooth. Also, as always, great video bud. Really top shelf!
This is a commendable idea and design. I built a very similar device. I can confirm that it works for only short lengths. 4 feet or longer causes too much vibration in the center and the cut is too far in.

Зарядил палку, прогнал её через настроенную приспособу, и получил заведомо одинаковые результаты, - без дополнительных проверок размеров. Например, кучу ножек для разборных табуреток.

That's much faster than using a lathe. And it would make tapering more consistent. Wonderful idea.
