Not meaning to take anything away from Pierre, he's no doubt a really dope animator, but also kudos to the designer(s) for giving him such freedom to express. The harsh truth is that in many game projects, no matter how dope the animators are, they just can't make this kind of animation, as the game play doesn't support it. I've only once during my lenghty game animator career been in a project which allowed me to do animation that had enough freedom to do my best work... and no surprise it's easily the most praised work I've ever done. Pierre is in a dream team for an animator, if he can continue to animate this kind of stuff. 👍Oh, and nice talk as well!

@@majestic8274 It's the skill that's important. Granted Blender isn't officially utilized as much as Maya.

This was an extremely enjoyable presentation, fun, insightful, and very inspiring with the wonderful work on display.
I loved that you dived into how to apply the principles of animation into a game environment and 3D space, talking about the limitations and stuff to keep in mind, like trying to keep the pose readable from multiple angles since the camera can be moved by the player.
Loved seeing examples showing your older work, it's incredible seeing the improvement.
I also have to mention the work you put into the presentation itself, just like your tutorials and courses, all that extra work of pointing out specific things and showing both the real time animation and slowed down or frame by frame animation right next to it, makes it so it's so easy to see and understand what you are saying! It's funny, it's like we can see how much you care about readability in so many different aspects, and I wonder if it's a trait you've always had, or if it's the principles of animation bleeding into other works! haha
I really enjoyed the section at the end that focuses a bit more on the rigs themselves!! The part about the damped track constraint was really interesting, and it seems to preserve volumes really nice! I'm selfishly hoping we see some more information about that in future tutorials or in an update to the rigging course!
Man, you packed so much into this presentation, thank you! You mentioned you were nervous but did great!
