The insulation and heavy black plastic wrap, obviously, that helps with low and high temperatures, and temperature cycles (in the cold keep the hives warm, in the heat, keep them cool), smart. smart. smart.
First year mixing my own patties, I ended up using a wheelbarrow and a garden hoe. First batch was with a drill and mud mixer and I ended up burning the drill up 🤣 Glad I did my own though, about half the price!

Sure hope this weather breaks soon this cold is starting to get to me! Sure glad I insulated my hives! Will be definitely incorporating the box insulation from now on. Thinking of ways to incorporate the insulation factor into the boxes permanently. Really a crazy year with supplies and COVID-19. I'm having the same issue and had to mix more patties. How do you like that Alltech product? When it says shelf life, does it refer to it after mixing or the shelf life of the powder.... That's a great way of mixing, I used a paint mixer too! Keep up the content.

I bought those bags a long time ago at a wholesale outlet where restarants would buy such things. They are called sandwich bags. That's about all I can tell you.
