This pollen patty recipe is one a local commercial beekeeper uses and we are just trying it out. We are not selling these patties but I'll give you the recipe we followed. Most of you won't need as much as we're making so break out your calculator and adjust the quantities to fit your needs.
I'll also include the recipe for Honey Bee Healthy type product. This is a concentrate which you won't need much of but as you'll see we went ahead and made a whole gallon just to have extra.
    Healthy Bee concentrate:
    5 cups water
1/8 teaspoon lecithin granules mixed in and dissolved before mixing other
    ingredients (use as emulsifier)
    2.5 pounds sugar
    15 drops spearmint oil
    15 drops lemon grass oil
For syrup feed use 1 teaspoon per quart
    Pollen Patty Mix:
    10 pounds pollen substitute
    25 pounds granular sugar
10 pounds syrup (we used honey instead)
1/2 cup of healthy bee concentrate
    1/2 cup of citric acid
    4.5 ounces of cinnamon
    2 cups canola oil
Stay tuned for lots more videos.

I remember watching Justin Wlson as a kid and him measuring in his hands. He'd say don't believe me this is a 1/4 spoon. He'd transfer it to a spoon and be right everytime. Always blew my mind. He was also funny as all heck.

Always good to see you working for the bees with your family. Hugs to all! The topic is a great one, with the recipe shared, the process shown, and certain precautions demonstrated in the best way! Love to see your bees eating pollen patties and bringing in the first pollen of the year. Happy New Year for sure for sure!

We are chomping at the bit waiting for spring to get here so that we can get back to the bees. We are in central Maine so at the moment they are all tucked in for the winter. Thanks for sharing. We definitely appreciate the mentoring you provide the bee community.
