Excuse me, John deserves to be harassed for the way he raised Sam and Dean. Bro literally left his oldest son to raise the other, or dumped them off on a friend if he even bothered to check on them (I’m not a fan of John Winchester okay)
The girl going absolutely feral when the guy took her stuff had me laughing, especially the absurdly goofy SLAP sound effect. Like it's suppose to be distressing but some of the choices for the scene are just too much for it to still feel scary.
This movie is such a clusterfuck of ideas. Some of it's like 'Oh that's kinda neat' and some of it's like 'What is this, a Disney Channel Halloween Special?'. And the editing, dear God the editing. Like they said, they just keep cutting down scenes to where it feels like everything's happened and nothing's happened at the same time. At least the actress playing the possessed girl is good.
The older sister's writing killed it for me. Her character through the whole movie is just "you must hate dad for no reason" and the slapping scene solidified that. Like, you SAW HIS HANDS AT HIS SIDE.
That kid gave a 110% to every scene and I'm so mad it falls flat in a shit movie 😭 i really hope she gets cast one day for something more serious because the moments she was completely freaking out and crying/screaming were so good.
This movie feels like an obligation. Like at every step people said "yeah we'll do it... but we're not gonna enjoy it" and I think that sentiment is forced upon every viewer.
I watched this movie in theaters and the cadence of her voice being exactly the same repeatedly fucked me all the way up. I was so terrified I couldn’t sleep right for like a week
I really love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and I had high hopes for this when it came out. This movie had potential if it wasn't for the drunk editor cutting it up to crap.
Theres a horror movie with Negan in it where he goes to this haunted tree on an old ass town and hes a journalist. Its pretty dope. I thought it was this at the start
That's Kyra Sedgewick I believe that's her last name. Married to Kevin Bacon. She plays on the Closer, a REALLY GOOD cop show, which I really can't stand because if you've seen one, you've seen them all, in my humble opinion. But there's a way to figure out who the bad guy is and they make it SO OBVIOUS! It's based on colors and wardrobe and that's all I will say. Once you know, it kinda ruins the show but it's still kinda neat to know now that it's over. But The Closer is actually really funny! I LOVE it! And I LOVE how she's not afraid to do whatever she needs to do to close her cases! And there are consequences for her actions even! She has a really good southern accent that sounds so natural! Especially from someone who's from the south, she does an excellent job at it!
I do like these live reactions that you are doing with Scout. Having a dual reaction... I don't really know how to classify this, but having the two of you interact with each other so that you can have someone to bounce ideas off of but also both of you trying to figure out what's going on in the movie is super entertaining. And my personal experience with Jeffrey Dean Morgan is being the dad from Supernatural, and I honestly call him Papa Winchester because that is who I knew him as first.
Scout has an amazing voice and he is funny and insightful I think he should be in more videos cant get enough of him even with him having his own channel
Dude, that's Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he plays in another, newer horror movie from 2021, called "The Unholy". I recommend watching it (could be a followup from this movie) 😊🤗
It's like you guys put the movie in Final Effects, cut it into scenes, used a random number generator to delete random scenes, then shuffled the remaining scenes, and did commentary on what came out. What a disjoint weird movie. But love the commentary, ofc
Wah they actually had Jewish references in one of these cursed box movies usually they pretend the Jewish part doesn't matter but they got whole ass orthodox Jewish men here!
Bro Jeffery Dean Morgan has been in SO MUCH SHIT. Supernatural is the big one, but The Walking Dead as Negan, and the one I first remember him from The Comedian from Watchmen. Such a good actor. I remember loving this movie...I still enjoy it. But it's uh...its not great
I really liked this movie when it came out, and I still like it somewhat. Coming back to it, I thought it was far more bizarre than I remembered, and it wasn't as brutal as I remembered either. Same with the editing. I used to think it was far more tighter and clean but after seeing someone else comment on that I do see how bizarre the cuts are. Still a fun watch and does hold some nostalgia for me so I may be biased.
I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THIS The Possession is one of my favorite horror movies even though it isn't great, but I saw it when I was finally allowed to explore horror. I saw it at the theater with my dad, and we related to them. It holds a special place in my heart ❤
i used to watch random on demand horror movies when i was home alone, this one included. it reminded me of another i saw around the same time i recommend y’all watch. it’s called Case 39, i don’t remember much besides its batshit crazy ending. has anyone else seen it?
I thought this was for Possession (1981) for a sec and got really excited. That would be a perfect film for a disturbing movies video on the main channel
The actor who played Negan is named Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He was also in the film "The Watchmen". Along with the tv series "Supernatural". I'm looking into his filmography now and he's been around for a long time.
We are being FED with all this GG content lately! I don't know if it was just my notifications are wonky, but I'm finally being told when you're posting. LET'S GOOOOO
I actually really enjoyed this movie in the theater at the time lol it was also 2012 and I was like a freshman in high school so- 🤷🏻♀️ 😂 stoked to have a Scout and GG movie commentary video to watch at work 🎉
i think it was bcs im still a child when i watched it for the 1st time, i didnt know there were so many cuts. i remember i LOVED this film and so scared of it especially the morgue scene, i still remember the daddy u scared me lines till today, almost 10 yrs later
I remember seeing the Commerical for this movie when I was like 9, I'm 21 now, and the scene where the fingers appear in her throat scared the shit out of me as a kid and I've always remembered that scene growing up very vividly but never knew the movie name
It’s actually weird asf that the boy never let go of her backpack. He got slapped twice and still didn’t want her to have her own backpack.
"I'm gonna exorcise my child"
Even funnier if you know the Dad actor played John from Supernatural. He must have all the experience in exorcisms
My first thought! 🤣
This is just a side quest , Sam and Dean show up lol
He looked familiar to me and I couldn’t tell why. This is likely why
i memorized the latin from an exorcism in my spn phase over a decade ago and I still have most of it in there.
is the man at 2:00 the same priest/father that got possessed with Azazel and murdered the nuns at St. Mary's Convent?
That girl played the hell out of her role fr
*drums*
The retainer literally happened because fake dad helped her fix her teeth because he cares about teeth- so the demon TOOK HIS TEETH. piano man.
Lmfao piano man plays in my head rent free man lmao
"Mr. Electric, send him to the principal's office, and have him expelled!!"....OMG, I laughed so hard at that edit, lol! 😂
Cut in so good
I’m dead 😂
omg i thought that was an actual scene!
you leave the Winchster's dad alone. he raised two boys and fought demons and other supernatural monsters.
I THOUGHT THAT WAS HIM
As soon as he was like is he in anything else, I was screaming lmao how you gonna disrespect John Winchester like that GG? Lmao
Excuse me, John deserves to be harassed for the way he raised Sam and Dean. Bro literally left his oldest son to raise the other, or dumped them off on a friend if he even bothered to check on them (I’m not a fan of John Winchester okay)
absolutely, he was undeniably a bad father @@Fairy_Teeth
He's in The Boys now too.
Congratulations to every person who doesn't recognize John Winchester
@@Olivia-nr9qp I yelled when he said that shit. Also the boys and tekken 7 lmao
Came here to say this 😂
Literally plays in so many nerd series
@@totallyarealdoctor6498Supernatural is a "nerd" series?
@@akashajones6079 Definitely. Different flavor of nerd, but nerd nonetheless.
That's John Winchester...this is what he was doing instead of raising his sons ...he had a whole other family...
With a few tweaks this could be a really good John djinn episode!
Considering Adam and Kate Milligan, this would be his second secret family.
The man that helped them is actually a Hasidic rapper named Matisyahu. Just a bit of trivia, there.
no way i didnt know that was him
Yep. Love Matisyahu, seeing him live was such a wonderful experience.
Got excited to see him and immediately scrolled to look for this comment
The girl going absolutely feral when the guy took her stuff had me laughing, especially the absurdly goofy SLAP sound effect. Like it's suppose to be distressing but some of the choices for the scene are just too much for it to still feel scary.
Bro the “take up that stick and go hit that pole for a couple minutes” took me OUT 😂 11:10
"Does anybody here know Hebrew" did it for me. 13:46
11:08 That editing was superb!
Right? It was so good I clipped it
same!! 😂

Like they said, they just keep cutting down scenes to where it feels like everything's happened and nothing's happened at the same time. At least the actress playing the possessed girl is good.
For being only 13 at the time, I think she did really well. Even better than the adult actors with an arguably hard role to sell to the audience.
I'll never understand how screenwriters constantly find scary stories and go "I can fix this," creating a tangentially related mess of nonsense.
The older sister's writing killed it for me. Her character through the whole movie is just "you must hate dad for no reason" and the slapping scene solidified that. Like, you SAW HIS HANDS AT HIS SIDE.

I was going to say that it's the end of the month, and he's got ad contracts to satisfy. Then I looked at today's date... 🤷

That little girl is actually amazing!!
The tapping animations around 11:08 made me actually laugh. Like more than just nose air. It's golden.
if nothing else, ig its nice to have a possession movie that focuses on a religion other than christianity
Did I miss where it was mentioned? Is that supposed to be a dybbuk box?
and yet it makes no material difference to the cliche plot
@@drewgoin8849 Judaism? With all the Hebrew and the black clothing and curled forelocks and yarmulkes?
@@drewgoin8849 yeah it's a dybbuk box, they actually use the word dybbuk in the film

On opening night.
It was free.

SAME! And the moment it started i was like wait wait I know this!
That's what happened when I saw The Prodigy. Totally forgot I saw it in theaters for free until I saw it advertised on FX and recognized the poster.
I remember when this came out, it’s based on the dybbuk box sold on eBay lol, there was a ton of “based on a true story” marketing surrounding it.

Not the fade to black piano tone ending 😭
"Daddy im scared" has always been stuck in my head since i was young.

Quickest way to dispel a ghost: yelling at it. They are very sensitive.
Biggest twist of the movie is that Sam raimi was involved
Oh, "Posession"! It's because he's a basketball coach!

The Closer was more a detective show than cop.

"The Jewish Exorcist."
