IEC 309 32A commando sockets fixed to the concrete floor under the raised floor of a data centre. IK10 specified. The practical reason: would they survive having a floor tile dropped on them? In reality those tiles are heavy and have sharp metal covered corners, so just possibly not. But it was the best that could be done. 😂
Everything has some sort of Mechanical protection even though it doesn’t say on the sticker. Can’t really think of anything that could be IK00 apart from a glass bulb . You can also compensate for the lack of a suitable IK for a specific area like for example a car park with low level emergency bulkheads that can be hit by cars, you add one of those steel mesh caps to satisfy the IK requirement.
What’s the IK rating of the junction where the conduit enters the box? Will an IK10 rated item protect against a forklift that runs amok? You can only design so many defense systems or levels of protection because a fool can do things no sane person has ever considered.
We need some IG ratings : How easy is it for Gary to break an item. 🤣
Great idea 💡 👍
A good idea... however Gary's already broke it. 🤫
😂🤣😂
Love the ex apprentice lump hammer used, I thought I was the only one who still had his apprentice tool kit lol(after 31 years)
I’m the proud owner of that lump hammer *Gordon 😂😂😂
Interesting article Joe /eFIXX .

They are indeed and more on this topic coming soon.
Thanks Joe, learnt something new.
