It just might be the highlight of the night! But what’s up with Hollywood finally discovering that Indian cinema exists, through RRR no less? The film is perfectly watchable, but I’ve seen much more compelling Indian cinema. And songs like ‘Naatu Naatu’ are pretty commonplace. I don’t get why so many on the awards circuit are, all of a sudden, in 2023, jumping out the window for Indian film (and with this film and song specifically)? It’s quite jarring. Where have they been the last 20 years of Indian cinema?😅

Hi Grace! I still think it's still worth checking out Aftersun just for Paul Mescal, even though you may think the film itself seems too sad. Especially since he got picked to lead the Gladiator sequel, it's a testament to his range as an actor and how talented he is since the roles are basically polar opposites. Personally, I adored Aftersun because it is a deeply layered film, and the sad storyline throughout was earned because of its deeply moving ending. Hope you reconsider!
