Great way of explaining things and not jumping all over the place. 👍
Great session sirji! 🎉
Excellent presentation, Andy! A great choice for beginner or refresher alike.
Thank you!
Hey thanks Matthew I really appreciate that😊
Hi Andy! Thank you so much for your videos. As I am Pakistan and working as an IT Consultant with multinational company your way of teaching and soft voice is awesome. I really appreciate.

Very good video. Clear explanations, good talking speed and understandable even for a French. Good job.
Absolute pleasure and thanks for dropping by
You're right it is well paced. I don't particularly like it when presenters zip through at speed and I have to waste my time and rewind . Well done Andy.Another good vid
Finally some clear explaination about SharePoint Online. Thank you again.
You are welcome!
Hi Andy! Thank you for your videos. I enjoy watching and learning quite a bit from them. I have an idea for a new video, or even maybe a new series if it makes sense. There are so many videos (incl yours) that go into immense detail about how to administer, setup, run services like sharepoint, teams, ms365 etc. I would find it really helpful to learn more about how companies (probably bigger companies) actually USE the services like teams and sharepoint specifically. Example, how does a sales team or accounting team USE sharepoint when it’s up and running? The focus should be on use, not configuration.. and I know there are plenty ways different companies do the same thing (eg handle sales quotations), but it would be interesting to see an example.
My company has deployed ms365 throughout, but now the thinking has changed from how we can set it up and het it working, to how can we actually use this (teams/sharepoint) in day to day activities. Right now it’s just a mish-mash of random sharing and files, and seems quite messy.
Hope this reaches you. E
Hi Eric thanks for the great suggestion. I honestly never thought about this. As an instructor I deal with training etc. But I could somehow perhaps do an interview type episode with demos that could demonstrate how they've implemented the tech. I shall investigate :-) Anyway thanks for the idea. All the best, Andy
Good presentation. Appreciate you showing new features as well. Thank for putting this up.

Great content. And nice haircut btw

I ask you to help in a question of work with Sharepoint. Documents have been saved to the desktop through synchronization. If you accidentally delete a large number of documents and return them using the button, how does this operation appear in the system? Can it show in the system that the documents were allegedly resent somewhere, instead of being deleted? Is it possible to resend documents at once directly from Sharepont or do I need to download them first?
Moreover, the computer and all programs are protected and only the administrator has full access.
Honestly I'm not sure about this. I'd put in a support ticket or post the Microsoft Tech Community. Good luck.
hi, I'm new to GCC and I am trying to have the recycle bin only save for 1 day due to PII policy. Where do I go to set the retention level to 24 hours or 1 day?
Normally I’m not sure if this can actually be done. However, GCC countries might have a different arrangement with Microsoft. As I’m not based there I suggest that you contact Microsoft support in your region. I’m sorry I can’t give them more definite answer on this, but wish you luck, and thanks for visiting.
Hi Andy, Iam confused with sharepoint storage. How much storage we get in sharepoint as whole at org level and at per site level? Thanks in advance.
Do a Google search. ShareThePoint plan one versus SharePoint plan two
Hi Andy,
Could you explain why you can't add a Group to the site permission?
By default a Team site is created when you create a 365 group. As such it receives a default set of permissions. However, it is possible to create a completely stand alone Sharepoint team site that is separate to 365 groups. You can then assign stand alone permissions.
Good
Thanks
question how to practice without a student or work account thanks
because i bought 365 but noticed it does not include sharepoint thanks
Create a trial E5 account. No credit card required and you’ll have everything you need for 30 days 😀
Hi Andy, did you encounter with Sharepoint Teams and Teams sites the error HTML5 dubble backends? This is an issue that is unclear to me?
Hmm no sorry I've not seen that.
Hello is there a way to prevent power query and power bi access to individual share point sites in the admin centre please
Gosh, to be honest that’s not my skill set I’m afraid. Very sorry. Why not post a question on the Microsoft tech community I’m sure they can help you there. Thanks again though.
Hello Andy, do you have any further information on the section about "Sharepoint Content-Type" as this section did not work for you?
I can do a session on that. This was a while back 👍
Please do drop a message when you get the time to do it.
Shouldn't there be a tab somewhere just for administrating site collections?
Site collections don’t exist anymore. Think of teams, a converted group like a site collection. You can have multiple tabs, AKA websites for which you could have different sets of permissions. Modern tools for modern Times👍😊
@@AndyMaloneMVP Well noted. Thanks
Ha. I'm not the only one to remember it at Digital Dashboard.
Yay, delighted to hear that.
Editing the Members of a site like you said at 33:44 doesn't work in my tenant. There is just no editing button. (I'm logged in as the admin)
Check what Licence you've got. I have a E5 & EM&S
@@AndyMaloneMVP The users have E5 but the admin doesn't need a licence for this.
I did an exchange migration without a licence.
I guess it's just a typical Microsh*t software thing. I think they fuck up their software on purpose so they can sell more training where you probably learn how to navigate through the rapids of this software.
The motto of this company is: why simple, if it can be complex?
Sorry for ranting on your channel.
@@hubertussuppenstiefel5590 more training!! I wish my friend. Alias no just more sales. However, you should note although you don’t technically need a licence to be an admin. There are a few scenarios where you do. As bad as you think the software is my friend. Look at it from a different perspective, it’ll keep you in a job for years to come. So as I always say. God bless you Bill, keep them coming 🙏😂🤣
Could you pls help.. I was asked in an interview , how can we recover deleted user onedrive data.

please do i need a firewall for a standalone sharepoint
Good practice says yea. But if it’s on Sharepoint online, then no
Hello! Can anyone please explain what are the "Personal Sites" and where can we find them in SharePoint online admin console?
Personal sites are a classic feature and are being removed. If you go into a user profile, you should see a card based interface. This is modern view and you can share and interact with other users here :-)
@@AndyMaloneMVP Thanks a lot for your reply! Is there any documentation about these Personal Sites, to understand it better?
@@kirmistube you should check out docs.microsoft.com and learn.Microsoft.com. These are the definitive sources of information. All Microsoft products. Thanks again, and good luck 😊
Make video on one drive administration
I did and here it is 😀 ruclips.net/video/61HUwyUvino/видео.html
Excellent Video! I have a query.
I have a Team Site and invited GUEST USERS on it but as they are now a member of a group and can edit files.
I want to give only READ ONLY/VIEW permission to GUEST USERS on my site.
Please advise, Thanks in advance.
Ok couple of places you can do this. Firstly go to Azure AD portal - Users - User Settings - External collaboration settings. There are some options here. Other options can be found in Teams client. Channel settings - guest options. Also Select Team - Manage Team - Guest options here can also be restricted.
@@AndyMaloneMVP Thanks for ur reply I will check and update u soon, it's SharePoint Teams site, I did not integrate it with Microsoft Teams.
Then it’s the external user settings in Azure AD
@@AndyMaloneMVP Thanks for ur reply, I did find out settings from Advaced Site security where we can invite guset members as "Public Visitors" with read only or View only access.
Just a tip your video is blurry not sure if thats the way it was recorded
Sorry Robert. This was recorded sometime ago. I know that if you watch it on a laptop or PC it’s fine, however if you’re trying to watch it on a 77 inch oh led TV it may be blurry. Since this recording was made I have made many other recordings which are now in 4K. Thanks a lot for the comment
Hey #Andy
Good stuff and I am new to this environment and having intrest learn sharepoint Admin..
I am having zero% knowledge on it
How do I start?
Please help me on it
Thanks in Advance 🙏
Check out my latest video I feature your question on it :-)
@@AndyMaloneMVP thank you.. Please share the link.. I'm unable to find that one
Thanks
@@kadapalaraghu8313 It will be posted tomorrow
Is this MacOS?
SharePoint running in a browser on a machine running MacOS yes.
25:13 nodding head 🙂
I hope that’s a good thing 😊
@@AndyMaloneMVP yessir.
Andy is there any difference in price for SharePoint on premises in Africa?
Good question. On premise products are always going to be very expensive. Due to licensing costs as well as the costs of maintaining the infrastructure. SharePoint server is a classic example, it is very heavy on resources. If you can I'd definitely look at at SharePoint Online, it's a fraction of the cost. I'm wondering why do you need on-premises? Another point if you are a charity, education etc there are many low cost / no cost licensing deals that can be done. :-) Good luck Sam and thanks so much for dropping by and asking the question. I hope that you are finding my videos useful.
SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE. I DELETED A PAGE ON SHAREPOINT, THEY SAID THAT THE ADMIN CAN RESTORE IT, BUT WHO IS THE ADMIN, CAN I FIND THE EMAIL OF THE ADMIN? HEEEEELP :( :(
Don’t panic it will be in your recycle bin. If not then the site recycle bin. It will be there for at least 30 days
@@AndyMaloneMVP only the admin can access there right?
