I think eating 6 prune a day li think we need to buy more toilet papers because it will clean out our gut. I love to eat natural dry fruits but not sugar adds. Thank you for post ur video 👍❤️💪
@@dieuvo2700 Yes, how true!
I could eat 12 prunes and not have a laxative effect. ( I have good bowels already) Everyone is different. Spreading the prunes through the day will be best. Maybe check the sugar levels in all the things your eating ( inc carb load in pasta, rice, potatoes) and substitute those that do you no good anyway for prunes. Or maybe 3 prunes . Everybody is different. Balance of foods is key.
6 prunes are too many, i take just 2, unless you are a heavy person.@@dieuvo2700
Yes exercise. Cheese, good protein, eggs, yoga, ....dried prunes? 6 daily amazing!!! Who knew? Thank you
6 dried prunes a day for those who are in a hurry , thank me later ☺😂
Thank you sooo much
Thanks.
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤🌹
6 may be too much..2-3 I can do
he says 2-3 at a time, but recommends 6 a day, 6 at one time may be too much 🙂@@Bujji0423
Thank you for giving us this information without making us listen on and on and on to a long boring account of repetitions and even then not telling us. Sooooooooo grateful to you❤
You are very welcome!
Yes , isn't that the truth !
@@8kaddee8lumpkins Thanks, I try to keep it short and sweet!
Well said
If one’s diabetic is it okay to have six prunes a day
The glycemic index for one serving of prunes (60 grams, or about six prunes) is 29. Keep in mind that this glycemic index is for unprocessed, unsweetened, dried prunes.
Many commercially sold prunes and prune products are artificially sweetened, flavored and processed, substantially increasing the glycemic index
Boa tarde. Vou colocar as ameixas de molho na água na noite anterior e consumir durante o dia. Será que perde os nutrientes?
@@claudiabeloni3664 consume the juice, too! 🙂
Unsweetened prunes are still very high in sugar.
Costco has dried prunes, no added ingredients like vegetable oil or sugar. Tastes good too.
@@carollynt You do not need to, because Prunes themselves are high in sugar.
If you don't like prunes. You can take Boron . I believe that is what is inside prunes that makes it good for bones.
I’ve been eating 6 prunes per day for two years, and also taking meds for osteoporosis. My scores have improved! My cholesterol also was lowered by 20 points.
Bone density is proven to replenish itself from exercise. Beware of people who over complicate healthcare needs.

So how do you know which one is working?

People who are pre-diabetic and diabetics should avoid eating prunes.
I took your advice and ate prunes and learned the hard way that not to continue eating prunes.
They make “unsweetened prunes… look for them❣️
U don’t have to eat the six prunes at once..spread over the day has less effect on blood sugar
Turmeric reduces inflammation almost instantly, I found after hip surgery. Enjoy all advice you offer, thank you so very much. I add a teaspoon to soup every day and have not had an inflammation issue since.
You are very welcome Julie!
Any turmeric?
Yes but turmeric neutralized your iron if you are anemic and also turmeric is natural blood thinner so be careful
Thank you for categorizing your videos. It's extremely helpful indeed !!
You are very welcome!
Yum! I’m in. Will stock up tomorrow.
you can have some of mine, I got a huge bag from Costco!

Thank you. Anything I can learn and apply to be healthier
Wow! What a great surprise!! I have been eating dried prunes for many months now along with greek yogurt to stave off constipation ~ and now I learn it is helping my bones as well!!! Thanks so much for this video, and have a great day!
Thanks Bonnie and keep eating those prunes!
Only concern in regards to eating 6 dried prunes a day, they are very high in sugar 5 or 6 dried prunes contain about 21 grams of sugar 6 a day x 7 days a week 🤨 Something to keep in mind for those watching their sugar intake.
Very true. Sugar is detrimental to the body even when it's fruit sugar. Sorry no for me. So what is in the prunes that helps bones?
My diabetic cousin has been told to limit them.
@@charlotteerickson2486They are high in Vitamin K

I add them to my cereal each morning and to help sweeten my health drinks I also add prunes, about 5. Thanks for all your videos, I look forward to all the new ones that come out.
CEREAL !!! 👎🏼
Grains are the first thing to give up if you are serious about health.
Wheat is the worst!
Put em in cookies.
I dry 200 plus pounds of Italian plums every year. They are so much better than the store bought plums that are sickly sweet and slimy. I eat them because they are not as sweet as other dried fruits and for the complex sweet/sour taste. Love them! Had no idea they were that good for me. Thanks.
Great tip!
I’m nearly 74, I have got osteoporosis, recently fell at railway station ..luckily nothing broken but so very bruised on legs. I can’t really do much excercise, got it in spine back and hips..frequent back pain. In May I have an appt with a rheumatician with a view to having an infusion once a month..
My mum fed me lots of prunes when i was a kid. I managed to break my left arm 3 times. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 40. I don't think prunes do anything to build bone.
Prunes are delicious! Why have we not been told these simple things to defer bone loss by our physicians before? Thank you for not just the diet tips but the exercises too!
Edit to just FYI; My Dr wanted me to get all my dental work done before he put me on a osteoporosis drug.
I was at my dentist yesterday and updated him on my Dr appt Monday. I got a severe lecture from him (dentist) to NOT go on the osteoporosis drugs if I could possibly avoid it. He said if I started and he needed to pull a tooth it was possible I wouldn't heal from the extraction. He pointed out all the side effects that could include losing my jaw from an extraction. He did say the drugs are good at what they do but not if I need certain dental work. I encourage anyone reading this to include your dentist in your decision to take these drugs or not.
Pretty well known, actually!
@@Spiritual-journey9 Maybe to you in your area. I was diagnosed with osteopenia 23 years ago and osteoporosis 3 years ago. No doctor, in small towns or large cities EVER mentioned to me ANYTHING I could do to defer bone loss until a year ago. I was just told in the last few years to take the drugs.
They rather put you on drugs! I was previously on Fosamax and Antonel. Didn’t help at all and I was afraid of the side effects so I stopped taking drugs. I just try to eat healthy, eat prunes every day and exercise.
We are not supposed to get better, otherwise they don't earn money on us. They only treat symptoms instead get to the core of problem.
@@whitehawk6373 Exactly right, why do I keep forgetting this?
Love your tree 🎄 Thanks for the great information.

Thank you so very much, you are giving me so much hope. 🙏👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
You are very welcome!
I found somewhere on youtube someone recommending 6 prunes per day help with joint pain, so I'm giving it a try. Prunes are DELICIOUS!
😎
Thanks for the information . I enjoy prunes a lot . If you leave them in a bowl in the fridge they get hard like candy . It’s a nice sweet treat ! Keep up the good work .
Thank you, Janice!
Me, too. But the most I could I could manage was 2 or 3. They are all the candy I need.
Thank you for sharing this info with us without a 15 min speech of unnecessary talking. I just have to say that I have to close my eyes and just listen because the way that the camera keeps jumping around is too distracting to me.
You are very welcome Esther!
Thank you for the information about bone density. Very informative and interesting. You are really helpful.
Very welcome!
Good info. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching!
Prunes will help your bowels moving, which assists in the lymphatic system flowing. Chronic constipation means everything is backed up, including your body's ability to build bone. I'm 55 and nobody ever told me pooping twice a month wasn't normal. I have severe bone loss in my skull from a molar's roots being in my sinus cavity, resulting in a life long infection, which caused chronic & severe constipation. Found out about the bone loss when I found out about the tooth. The day after the tooth was out the constipation ended.
Nobody told you. , you have more problems , bud..😂
@@seniormale you have no idea. The constipation began when I was a toddler and started getting used for pleasure by a grandfather. I was raised by a narcissistic mother who completely ignored me and ridiculed any health issues. When I was 14 I was getting into a car when the driver of the car stepped on the gas and pulled out of the parking space. My foot was wedged against the wheel as it moved forward, folding my foot in half. My mom refused to take me to the doctor for two weeks.
So, I completely agree with you. The constipation is the least of my problems
You have had to live through a lot of difficulties.
Thank you so much for posting this. You’re a superhero in my eyes. I truly wonder if this is a problem I’m facing. How did you find out about the tooth? An x-ray or something else?
@@RememberTheLord I switched to a biological dentist. She requires a cone beam scan as part of the new patient testing.
I just saw a dressing witt a 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 cup stone brown mustard, 1/2 cup cider vinegar, 1/4 or ajust water, 1/4 to. 1/2 cup olive oil and about 5 prunes soaked in water if tpugh then put in blender for a smooth tasty dtessing! I went from memory so experiment with these ingredients! Add those prunes to anything! Thanks for that awrsome tip!
Sounds great!
Thank you so much for this information. I'm going to start this asap.
Excellent!
In our Indian culture, we soak either a teaspoonful of black raisins or about 5 to 6 almonds overnight, drain the water out and have either one of them. For the almonds, take out the skin first before consuming them. Or in the morning, take about 2 tablespoons of milk, add about just a bit of curd, add some raisins, stir thoroughly about, say 35x and let it set and have it either before or after lunch.
Awesome Padma, thank you for sharing! I’m headed to see my parents who live in India really soon 🇮🇳

yes prunes have lot of benefits but how but the diaries
I love prunes! And figs are also great for osteoporosis. They are also delicious!
Fig neutons!!!!
Be careful with figs. They have to be fresh. Dried figs contain toxins which are carcinogenic to the liver.

I known about prunes, but my problem is that they are high in carbs. I do not want to mess up my metabolism. I may eat one or two every now and then,, but not daily.
thank you, i needed to hear this.

Welcome!
I learned about prunes years ago to help build bone mass and I do try to eat 5 every day. I buy the Sunsweet D’Noir preservative free ones.
Well done!
Great comment, where did you buy this kind of dried prunes? All of them they have lots of potassium and other preservatives
Excellent information thanks
You are very welcome!
I’ll try this but I’d honestly be surprised if it magically improved my osteopenic bone density. The explanation for why they work seems too good to be true coz there’s so many other foods rich in antioxidants.
Yes, of course but please remember there’s so many other things that go into building a new bone. Other lifestyle considerations, weight, bearing exercises, and strength training. I think we just want to throw everything we can add it and hope it moves the needle.
Thank you so much I'm glad I found your channel I'm approaching one year since being diagnosed
With osteoporosis
I got diagnosed at age 39 but I have had osteoporosis I'm sure in my thirties without knowing because at age 19 I started eating 500 calories a day exercising like crazy eventually lost my menstration and didn't get it back until eleven years later I did increase my calorie intake a little bit here and there but never enough, not enough for a very active female
So now I have osteoporosis and I've chosen to treat this the natural way because I don't want to take any chances with the medication I want to learn as much as I can I'll definitely check out your osteoporosis-related videos thank you so so much, I feel like bone health is not something that's talked about but it should be it should be taught in school!!!!
Welcome and I hope the videos help!
@@FrontRowwithEd 🙏🏻 thank you so much I'm treating my osteoporosis with diet good nutrition exercise and supplements
I don't want to take medication
I don't want to take the risk of side effects I've spoken to people who took the medication and they told me why they got off of it and they turn to a natural approach, but I do have a question, I recently heard that some vitamin supplements that are specific for osteoporosis can affect digestion and absorption of food nutrients is there any truth to this??
I take the Garden of Life Grow Bone
Supplement which is specific for osteoporosis now I'm worried if what I was told is true that if taking vitamins to treat osteoporosis can prevent nutrient absorption??
I want the link
I eat three prunes every morning. I love them, and it’s a way to start my fruit/veggie intake for the day. Guess I’ll be doubling!!
That’s right Julie !

Is there anything similar that you take that will have the same effect as prunes.
I love prunes and it is really good also for digestion full of vitamin and mineral water dried or fresh I Love it
Agreed 👍🏻
Also adding some resistance training can help maintain and/or increase bone density
Absolutely Kevin, thanks for sharing!
I just heard about this! And it supposedly helps grow bone. What??? I’m willing to try
Yay, I love prunes!! Does prune juice have the same benefit? What about plums in their pre-dried state?
I wish I knew where that avocado landed! 🙂 thank you for the info!
I know right!
Got it! An anti inflammatory!
I have hip osteopenia.
You made me want to eat prunes! Few doctors have said the same too. But I am still hesitant. Doesn't it feel like 6 is too sugar in a day for anyone, young or old? I am hesitant because I don't want to eat myself into being insulin resistance, having 6 prunes per day. That's 180 prunes a month, 2160 prunes a year! That is a lot of sugar. What is your view on this? Thank you.
i love your living room -- it's totally my taste, and similar to mine! :)
Yay! Thank you!
Love prunes. I can now have prune in my regular snack rotation.
Yes!
Seems like you could select the very strongly anti-inflamatory TUMERIC instead and avoid the glycemic problem.
Thanks for the info...

I love prunes and custard, never realised they were so good for you
Yes, a bonus!
Takes me back to my childhood.
Is eating about 10 raisins per prune in 6 cinnamon rolls spread across a day equivalent 😊? With exercise of course!
Thank you so much for your information.I got a question it’s okay to use a manual treadmill almost every day for osteoporosis?Sometime I felt a discomfort on my knees.
Not a big fan of prunes but I do try to eat them at least 4 to 5 days a week since I have severe osteoporosis in my hip and spine.
What are good items to eat that would increase bone density in other parts of the body? Thanks.
Vitamin D3 plus K2.
What a lovely compilation - perfect for me with the exercises I need. I used to swim 3 x daily for 1.5 hrs per day while working in E. TN (in the lakes) I like privacy. Not interested in being seen by anyone. 45 intense hrs of work weekly and being a Velcro attachment to my office chair is making it tricky! I have to find a way to fit it in. Great to know about prunes. Love them.
Excellent!
Hi sir, am from Cameroon and my brother is just 24 years and the doctor said he's suffering from mild osteoporosis... He feels excruciating pain pain from his right foot... And he has been taking drugs but no solution...
How is Elizabeth doing with her osteoporosis? Haven't seen her in a very long time.

That’s good news. I eat a few diced prunes with some raw nuts most days. My little treat.
Excellent!
Would it be boron in the prunes?
Great IF you can find dried fruits without nitrates or sulphites.
Ok I will keep you up to date. I will eat 6 prunes until my next test. Hope Osteoporosis is gone.
I read about prunes and bone density so I’ve been eating them for a while. I have no idea if my bones are doing better, (I have osteopenia) because my doctor won’t call be back.
I tried prunes faithfully but my osteoporosis got much worse and I'm on Fosamax now.
So raisins wouldn’t give the same benefit?
Thank you .🎉
