I can't imagine how difficult it must be to share your baby plans on the internet, everyone has an opinion, whether or not you ask for it. Please keep sharing as much as you feel comfortable, and don't let the backseat mums spoil things for you or those of us who have every confidence in the world that you and Mike will be great parents
I completely agree with this. I felt sad watching at some parts as she seemed to feel the need to justify everything :( she shouldn't have to do that, she's an intelligent woman with common sense and seems to have read and had a lot of life experience with family and friends babies too. Sadly so many people feel they have the right to attack because they're behind a computer screen. :(

I take it your house is Georgian? I absolutely love the curved wall in the nursery, and the windows! It’s all so period. It makes for a beautiful, cosy, but light and airy nursery!
is a curved wall very georgian? my grandparents' house is also a georgian house and there are no curved walls there so I'm just asking out of curiosity to see if theirs (my grandparents) just differs slightly from the style of the period 🙃

Holy moly this is one stylish baby. Very fun. You may end up using the stokke at first just for a safe place to set her down while you wash your hands or change her outfit or whatnot. And the stuffed animals and crib bumper are fine for that since you’ll be right there
Baby could suffocate. Fleur knows that and wouldn’t put baby in a risky situation but of course if she shows the crib decorated people jump on her about it

You should make a little basket with snacks and lots of water to snack on/drink when you are nursing. It helped so much when I was nursing my twins in the first few months.
She’ll probably use the cot when you’re putting washing and things away or in the shower at that size, it’s a godsend having somewhere to put them like that that’s safe and up high from the dogs :) xx

My son loved his mobile. I actually went through two for him. But my daughter loved white noise so we got her a white noise machine that had a timer we could set. You'll know within a few weeks what sounds sooth them the most. Congratulations. It's been so nice to see you over the years grow to now be a mother.

What a wonderful tiring hard amazing special journey you’re about to go on! Life is about to massively change! 😍 (sat here watching this whilst listening to my daughter sleep, it’s honestly magical some days and some days hard too!)
princesscharlott1983 I just feel so excited for her and mike, I wish I could experience that utter excitement of buying and organising and re-organising baby stuff and wondering what it’ll be like, getting nervous, it’s so lovely to watch them both. You truly can’t explain being a mother (or father I’d presume) until you’ve got your baby there in your arms. Just magical. (But completely ok if you don’t feel it’s magical straight away, it can and does take time. Birth is hard, wonderful and hard to get your head around.)
We kept a fouton bed in our nursery and I use it a ton when I'm up to breastfeed, or baby is having a rough night and just needs some cuddles. Much easier than bringing him into our room, good call on keeping yours ;) Beautiful room, congratulations on the impending arrival!
Shaunna Howard yes we did too, to feed in there if other half had work early or something. They’re so much easier to feed on too (breast or bottle - we bottle fed) than being bolt upright in a chair! X

Oh Fleur, pish and twaddle to anyone that says you have too many clothes. You have said that you want more than one child eventually so I am sure that they won't go to waste at all! I have had 4 children and you can never have enough clothes (when they are tiny you can end up changing them 3 or 4 times a day with milk spits, that is before weaning comes in!).What a gorgeous nursery set up you have - it is a beautiful, calming space.
Caitlin Brumby yes it seemed really dark in there, and all the clothes hanging down in the baby's face. And doesn't she need somewhere to put the dirty diaper after she has taken it off?
Why not just keep it as it is & when the baby needs changing, just lay the changing mat on the floor. When finished put back away in the cupboard. Simple! 😄
Love the nursery, it’s absolutely gorgeous! I use water wipes for my 3 month old, I found the ones at the bottom were always really wet whereas the ones at the top were quite dry, so I’ve now started storing the packet upside down and it’s worked wonders as the water soaks through all the wipes, not just saturating the bottom few.
If you read the packet it actually recommends doing this (on the water wipes!) I wondered for ages why mine were so dry but soaking wet at the bottom.. d’oh!! Haha. Yes, storing them upside down & giving them a ‘squeeze’ just distributes the water much better x

Looks amazing!! Don’t listen to everyone thinking they know it all. You will be the best mum for your girl. And there is no reason to not have the candle left on the shelf for example, it can be wonderful with something to smell nice and she will think of her house and room when she smells it ❤️ A tip for storage for toys, use an old suitcase so when you want the room to look tidy you just close the case 🤗 hugs from Sweden

I am a mother of twins and then a singleton had 3 under 3 at one point LOL but the swaddling worked so well for me and they loved it!!! Hi Fleur, just wanted to let you know your baby-related videos have been such a lovely, positive thing for me to turn to recently while I've been grieving the loss of my dear mom. She passed away a month ago after a 9-year battle with breast cancer. We always told each other "to the moon and back" so seeing that sweet baby grow that had the same saying was extra sweet :) Congrats in advance on your little girl!
Fleur the nursery is a dream!! Wonderful!! My baby girl is 3 months old and I can say or sure that your baby will teach you how to be a mum. Many of the things you have, won't be necessary. What I found super helpful were breastfeeding "tutorials",as I learnt a lot about the latch and how important breast milk is for babies, and above all get your baby in a routine! You and Mike will learn to get to know her,what she needs and what mood she is in. That will help you get her into a routine. My baby has slept all night since turning one month! I wake up in the morning feeling like Cinderella singing with the birds haha. A biiig hug and be strong when the contractions arrive. Each one is one less! Remember that!
16 degrees when your 9 months pregnant feels like 26 degrees! I was due at Xmas and remember walking around outside the hospital in December in just a strappy top and still being boiling! I got some very odd looks😂
Can't wait to see how you all do as a new family. Dogs included. I think it's going to be amazing. Suggestion, you may want to keep the bibs in the kitchen. That's where she'll need them the most.

I organised my baby’s clothes like you before he arrived but then soon realised it’s so much easier to actually put the outfits together. My biggest tip would be to pick a vest, top, bottoms and socks and roll them up together so all you have to do is grab one thing and it’s a whole outfit rather than picking each item out of every box. Enjoy those early days. They change so quickly. X
The cot is so gorgeous the shape is so unusual for a crib not a standard rectangle and the conopy is beautiful I love your theme can't wait for the baby to come
Such a gorgeous nursery!! Swaddling worked so well for my children until they got strong enough to bust out of them, then it was onto the sleeping bags. Honestly, they’re the best, especially to have peace of mind knowing that they are warm enough! All the best for her birth! She’ll be completely worth it!! 💖
Gorgeous ❤️! I love the nursery Fleur. I can’t wait for her to come. One thing I was worried about was I am deaf in my right ear and tone deaf in my left and I was balling my eyes out cause I was so nervous. “What if I can’t hear my daughter cry” but when she was born my motherly instinct kicked in full force. The only time I didn’t hear her and had to be woke up was when we first got home from the hospital and I was super tired. Cause those hospital beds are so uncomfortable. So make sure you bring your own pillows and blankets.

princesscharlott1983 I just feel so excited for her and mike, I wish I could experience that utter excitement of buying and organising and re-organising baby stuff and wondering what it’ll be like, getting nervous, it’s so lovely to watch them both. You truly can’t explain being a mother (or father I’d presume) until you’ve got your baby there in your arms. Just magical. (But completely ok if you don’t feel it’s magical straight away, it can and does take time. Birth is hard, wonderful and hard to get your head around.)

We kept a fouton bed in our nursery and I use it a ton when I'm up to breastfeed, or baby is having a rough night and just needs some cuddles. Much easier than bringing him into our room, good call on keeping yours ;)

Shaunna Howard yes we did too, to feed in there if other half had work early or something. They’re so much easier to feed on too (breast or bottle - we bottle fed) than being bolt upright in a chair! X

Oh Fleur, pish and twaddle to anyone that says you have too many clothes. You have said that you want more than one child eventually so I am sure that they won't go to waste at all! I have had 4 children and you can never have enough clothes (when they are tiny you can end up changing them 3 or 4 times a day with milk spits, that is before weaning comes in!).What a gorgeous nursery set up you have - it is a beautiful, calming space.
Why don't you put the changing table on wheels so you can keep the rail and roll out the changing table?

Caitlin Brumby yes it seemed really dark in there, and all the clothes hanging down in the baby's face. And doesn't she need somewhere to put the dirty diaper after she has taken it off?
I agree, I don't think it is practical at all like it is now. But if it works for her, perfect!
Why not just keep it as it is & when the baby needs changing, just lay the changing mat on the floor. When finished put back away in the cupboard. Simple! 😄

Love the nursery, it’s absolutely gorgeous! I use water wipes for my 3 month old, I found the ones at the bottom were always really wet whereas the ones at the top were quite dry, so I’ve now started storing the packet upside down and it’s worked wonders as the water soaks through all the wipes, not just saturating the bottom few.

If you read the packet it actually recommends doing this (on the water wipes!) I wondered for ages why mine were so dry but soaking wet at the bottom.. d’oh!! Haha. Yes, storing them upside down & giving them a ‘squeeze’ just distributes the water much better x

Looks amazing!! Don’t listen to everyone thinking they know it all. You will be the best mum for your girl. And there is no reason to not have the candle left on the shelf for example, it can be wonderful with something to smell nice and she will think of her house and room when she smells it ❤️ A tip for storage for toys, use an old suitcase so when you want the room to look tidy you just close the case 🤗 hugs from Sweden

Lovely Fleur!! I know everyone will share on how to raise and take care of your baby. I am a mother of twins and then a singleton had 3 under 3 at one point LOL but the swaddling worked so well for me and they loved it!!! Hope it works for you new bundle of joy coming Take it all in because they grow so fast Good Luck

Hi Fleur, just wanted to let you know your baby-related videos have been such a lovely, positive thing for me to turn to recently while I've been grieving the loss of my dear mom. She passed away a month ago after a 9-year battle with breast cancer. We always told each other "to the moon and back" so seeing that sweet baby grow that had the same saying was extra sweet :) Congrats in advance on your little girl!

Fleur the nursery is a dream!! Wonderful!! My baby girl is 3 months old and I can say or sure that your baby will teach you how to be a mum. Many of the things you have, won't be necessary. What I found super helpful were breastfeeding "tutorials",as I learnt a lot about the latch and how important breast milk is for babies, and above all get your baby in a routine! You and Mike will learn to get to know her,what she needs and what mood she is in. That will help you get her into a routine. My baby has slept all night since turning one month! I wake up in the morning feeling like Cinderella singing with the birds haha. A biiig hug and be strong when the contractions arrive. Each one is one less! Remember that!
16-20 degrees??? OMG my flat is usually 25-26 all the time and i often turn on the fire place since i am cold.. I would froze on 16 lol

16 degrees when your 9 months pregnant feels like 26 degrees! I was due at Xmas and remember walking around outside the hospital in December in just a strappy top and still being boiling! I got some very odd looks😂

Gosh, such a sweet, cosy space! I love the tones (esp the main muted gray/blue), so lovely on the eye. The penguin snow suits made me squeak with delight ahah . Can't wait for the little one, Fleur, congrats x

I organised my baby’s clothes like you before he arrived but then soon realised it’s so much easier to actually put the outfits together. My biggest tip would be to pick a vest, top, bottoms and socks and roll them up together so all you have to do is grab one thing and it’s a whole outfit rather than picking each item out of every box. Enjoy those early days. They change so quickly. X

Such a gorgeous nursery!! Swaddling worked so well for my children until they got strong enough to bust out of them, then it was onto the sleeping bags.
Honestly, they’re the best, especially to have peace of mind knowing that they are warm enough!

Gorgeous ❤️! I love the nursery Fleur. I can’t wait for her to come. One thing I was worried about was I am deaf in my right ear and tone deaf in my left and I was balling my eyes out cause I was so nervous. “What if I can’t hear my daughter cry” but when she was born my motherly instinct kicked in full force. The only time I didn’t hear her and had to be woke up was when we first got home from the hospital and I was super tired. Cause those hospital beds are so uncomfortable. So make sure you bring your own pillows and blankets.
