If you're torn between a TV and mirror/something more aesthetic, maybe get a Samsung "The Fame" - it looks like a picture frame and displays art/photos when not being used as a TV! I was thinking of getting one but they're a bit pricey and a projector suited my space better in the end :)
I think that the cabinet with the Nutra bullet and SodaStrean look just fine. I actually would take out that green vase because it just looks like it was placed there. And then I put the SodaStream and the blender closer together, and then on the shelf above it, or right right next to it, have a stack of beautiful little mugs. But it looks fine just as is, because it’s a kitchen, not a show room.

You asked about artwork, I found a fabulous painter here in Australia when I was looking for my kitchen last week, her name is Denise Faulkner - I think you will love her work, one is just perfect for River - it's called 'Wren High Tea' - child's tea set, unfortunately I think the original has sold. There are others, vintage teacups, all watercolour, some originals, some prints but all wonderful and not expensive. I will add the link below.....do check out her work. Light kitchens aren't 'Bla' as some have said, it's all about the design and the colour you add in other ways - ours is just off white, same colour subway tiles with dark blue/grey grout, a wall of glass cupboards to the ceiling with mid sapphire blue Cloisonne wallpaper on the back, all filled with a collection of antique and modern Spode blue and white china. This kitchen is everything! Ever since I saw The Holiday I’ve wanted a house in the English countryside and this just makes me want it even more! I think for the living area you definitely need a rug under the sofas and I think a coffee table would look lovely. Perhaps you could incorporate more of that gorgeous granite into it.

We have just done the exact same thing , ripped our entire kitchen out ,and our kitchen area is extremely large too, it’s surprising how long it takes and the work involved as electrics all have to be changed and we also had to have builders involved as we had our kitchen window made larger so we could see more of the beautiful countryside that we are surrounded by, it’s lovely to have been able to design a kitchen that works for us, love your kitchen

I love that a full sized living room is considered part of the kitchen 🥰 the deep blue of the furniture is amazing. I’ve been wanting deep blue, velvet furniture. I worry that it’ll be a pain to keep lint free. Beautiful job, you two!
A squeegee (the thing you use for scraping dry when cleaning wibdows) is very useful for quickly cleaning lint off those fabrics, or one of those red textured velvet type clothes brushes.
Fleur you've done an amazing job, this whole room is gorgeous. It really feels like the centre room of the house where everybody - with 2 or 4 legs - can be comfortable (I don't know if it is, but it feels like you could be here all day).

I'm really liking the kitchen side. Love the cabinets, the Island, love the flooring. Now all you need are a few plants to sit by the windows. A kitchen always needs a few plants. Nickle hardware goes with blues so much better also. Great look. Brass looks so cheap.
The walls after are lovely ane fresh..i like the white walls as the green was not doing anything. It is a very beautiful kitchen and its great you could do it. The white around the windows bring out the countryside...they dont distract the outside

So beautiful Fleur but living in California it's hard to stray away from the open concept which I very much enjoy. I understand that you guys have made a room where everyone can be in while you're hosting dinner or a get together. You guys did an outstanding job and it turned out so beautiful and tastefully done. I can appreciate the bold colors of this kitchen even when I love the white and light neutrals too. So happy your dream kitchen became a reality, I'm sure Mike and you will be cheffing it out in this gorgeous kitchen while River plays in the background.
Honestly, marble still looks gorgeous when it’s lived in. Especially when the rest of the kitchen is more sleek. God, that kitchen is GORGEOUS! But I’m very much shocked that you don’t have a tv there LOL I don’t have one in my kitchen either so my salt cellar has become a stand for for my iPad while I cook. 😂

Fleur your design choices are so gorgeous and perfect! I love your new beautiful kitchen and family area! Love the color choice of the cabinets, and the warm wood color inside them. The Wolf stove is amazing and I love that awesome wine/refrigerator/freezer too! The floor is a perfect choice - so unique and old world cozy and has a beautiful Italian home feel to it. An idea for your bigger wall would be maybe a favorite photo of your sweet family with all your fur babies would be sweet💙. Great job you guys did - enjoy - I love your new kitchen!!
I’d like to put in a vote for Mike about adding the TV over the fireplace! I think the mirror is useless and boring. They have flatscreen TV’s that function like artwork now and as you say it’s a family kitchen/living space with children and pets. It’s a beautiful reno and I wish you and yours many decades of happiness and precious memories in it! 💕

Let your hubby have the TV and put the mirror on the larger blank wall or move the furniture around a bit, put the tv on the blank wall and leave the mirror on the fireplace, or no tv, either way, you have options...lol
I think this is one of the nicest kitchen projects I've seen. My suggestion for the sitting area is to put the TV where the mirror is and the mirror on the wall to the left. The mirror will reflect the view from the windows of the outdoors which I think would be lovely.

I love this new room!! Could you look at getting one of those TVs that are built behind a mirror? Like you see in hotels. Then it's the best of both worlds and I've definitely seen them framed like a hung mirror too.
I imagine it's not the aesthetic of a TV, but more wanting family time and conversation in that room. At least that's why I wouldn't want a TV in there :)
We’ve been looking at that (that’s what mike wants) but they are super expensive and I would really prefer not to have a TV in the kitchen, especially with river as she would just want it on all the time. At the moment she has mike’s old iPad that I can put away if I don’t want her to watch too much and she kind of forgets about it - I think with a TV she would ask to watch cartoons A LOT more!

Just an idea that came to mind if you wanted to have the best of both (I figured they'd be so expensive since they're used in hotels!). Can't wait to see what you go with!
@@FleurDeForce my parents had 9 TV's all over the house, the only rooms where no TV was present was my bedroom and the downstairs bathroom. Even the upstairs bathroom (where the shower and bath were located), had a tv. I've been living on my own now for almost 10 years and I have NEVER owned a TV lol. 😂 I refuse to become addicted to those things like my parents did.

You could put the coffee machine on a lazy susan and you could have it straight and turn it to close the cabinet doors. Love the kitchen!

I'm really liking the kitchen side. Love the cabinets, the Island, love the flooring. Now all you need are a few plants to sit by the windows. A kitchen always needs a few plants. Nickle hardware goes with blues so much better also. Great look. Brass looks so cheap.
The walls after are lovely ane fresh..i like the white walls as the green was not doing anything. It is a very beautiful kitchen and its great you could do it. The white around the windows bring out the countryside...they dont distract the outside

So beautiful Fleur but living in California it's hard to stray away from the open concept which I very much enjoy. I understand that you guys have made a room where everyone can be in while you're hosting dinner or a get together. You guys did an outstanding job and it turned out so beautiful and tastefully done. I can appreciate the bold colors of this kitchen even when I love the white and light neutrals too. So happy your dream kitchen became a reality, I'm sure Mike and you will be cheffing it out in this gorgeous kitchen while River plays in the background.
Honestly, marble still looks gorgeous when it’s lived in. Especially when the rest of the kitchen is more sleek. God, that kitchen is GORGEOUS! But I’m very much shocked that you don’t have a tv there LOL I don’t have one in my kitchen either so my salt cellar has become a stand for for my iPad while I cook. 😂

The wide shelf on the backsplash over the range is soooo amazing!!! Don't you just pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming!!! I painted some bedroom furniture 2months ago in a very similar color blue . Now that I see the color on your cabinets I want to paint them as well

Fleur your design choices are so gorgeous and perfect! I love your new beautiful kitchen and family area! Love the color choice of the cabinets, and the warm wood color inside them. The Wolf stove is amazing and I love that awesome wine/refrigerator/freezer too! The floor is a perfect choice - so unique and old world cozy and has a beautiful Italian home feel to it. An idea for your bigger wall would be maybe a favorite photo of your sweet family with all your fur babies would be sweet💙. Great job you guys did - enjoy - I love your new kitchen!!
I’d like to put in a vote for Mike about adding the TV over the fireplace! I think the mirror is useless and boring. They have flatscreen TV’s that function like artwork now and as you say it’s a family kitchen/living space with children and pets. It’s a beautiful reno and I wish you and yours many decades of happiness and precious memories in it! 💕

I love everything about it! It’s absolutely stunning, including the inserts on each side of the fridge/freezer! Let your hubby have the TV and put the mirror on the larger blank wall or move the furniture around a bit, put the tv on the blank wall and leave the mirror on the fireplace, or no tv, either way, you have options...lol

I think this is one of the nicest kitchen projects I've seen. My suggestion for the sitting area is to put the TV where the mirror is and the mirror on the wall to the left. The mirror will reflect the view from the windows of the outdoors which I think would be lovely.

I really enjoyed this! We moved in to our house 5 years ago and have left the bathroom and kitchen to last. We’re knocking the kitchen and dining room in to one, and extending. Work starts next week and I’m nervous but excited! This video was really useful. Your kitchen is beautiful :-)

I love this new room!! Could you look at getting one of those TVs that are built behind a mirror? Like you see in hotels. Then it's the best of both worlds and I've definitely seen them framed like a hung mirror too.
I imagine it's not the aesthetic of a TV, but more wanting family time and conversation in that room. At least that's why I wouldn't want a TV in there :)
We’ve been looking at that (that’s what mike wants) but they are super expensive and I would really prefer not to have a TV in the kitchen, especially with river as she would just want it on all the time. At the moment she has mike’s old iPad that I can put away if I don’t want her to watch too much and she kind of forgets about it - I think with a TV she would ask to watch cartoons A LOT more!
@@FleurDeForce Fleur DeForce that makes complete sense! And I definitely agree with having the option to limit cartoons and things for River! And I have to say I love the frame on that mirror! Just an idea that came to mind if you wanted to have the best of both (I figured they'd be so expensive since they're used in hotels!). Can't wait to see what you go with!
@@FleurDeForce my parents had 9 TV's all over the house, the only rooms where no TV was present was my bedroom and the downstairs bathroom. Even the upstairs bathroom (where the shower and bath were located), had a tv.
I've been living on my own now for almost 10 years and I have NEVER owned a TV lol. 😂 I refuse to become addicted to those things like my parents did.
