The room came out perfectly for your needs! The saddle things are terrific decor and represent the original use of the room. The library ladder is genius for the room too. Wonderful and smart use of the room.

An old picture of the stables in the 1800’s and portraits of the dogs , both in matching frames possibly dark bronze to tie in with the rest of the room.

I actually love the eclectic look of the different picnic baskets. Super cute, but still feels like a real home (which is obviously is!).
I would add lower hooks so River can hang her coat herself. It looks very cosy and beautiful!

This turned out so nice. I love how functional it is. The storage solution you chose really allows for everything to be unseen at all times which allows for the space to remain clutter free. I think this room would benefit from more lighting, and maybe a rug/runner but I honestly would grapple with covering up any of the flooring; it is beautiful. Great job!
Boot room looks lovely! It's nice how you've kept a vibe that feels like a nod to the stables with the hooks/hangers, and the dark wood too. Gorgeous flooring too!

Fleur it looks SO beautiful!! Love everything about it. I would consider adding an indoor/outdoor rug on the floor, nothing too big, possibly an oval shape. And over by the counter it would be so great to see little portraits of the doggies plus a few little hooks to hang their old collars!! XOX from Ireland
I love learning about the history and age of your house! I live in Canada, and we just don't have much that is that old. I grew up in Vancouver, and especially there, almost everything is built from 1960 onwards, many things from 1990 onwards. I have just moved to the east coast though, and my house is circa 1917, which I think is so cool :)

Those antique saddle and bridle trees are awesome! I'd love something like to hang my tack on. This room is perfect. Loving the bench that you can sit on to change boots and shoes and then stow them underneath. Now I want a library ladder to reach my upper cabinets.
Looks great! I had a mudroom in my last house and really miss it, a super handy room to have. Especially when you have dogs.
Love the room and the materials you chose to finish it off like wood, terracotta, brass it all looks so cohesive and in keeping with the style of the house and purpose of the room itself. I myself would only change wood colour and leave it natural with some sort of wax or lacquer but that my personal opinion and the dark wood looks great there anyway. Great job
I could tell even from the thumbnail that these dogs have a nicer room than me 😅 beautiful design, and the room didn’t lose any of its character. I love the idea someone shared in the comments suggesting you decorate with small paintings of the dogs. A lot of people on Etsy take commissions like that.

I agree with Fleur the history of the saddle brindles adds to the decor. If added decor is necessary on the empty space why look elsewhere? Save the funds & dip the remaining saddle brindles in the same paint & put some of them up.

Love these type of videos! As an interior design nerd I am happy to see when you change your knobs on doors or dressers. 😂 Question, did you work with a designer or do it with a normal contractor? I never tire of these types of renovations because it really is with the character of the home. Breathes new life into the space and it is gorgeous. 🥰
She mentioned a decorator when she talked about the door 😉 I'm sure they used contractors for the actual handy work though.

I would say add a rug (maybe a washable one since it’s primarily for dogs and muddy boots) and if you need more lights maybe some wall sconces/lanterns.
Dash and Albert throw rugs are perfection for dogs and wash like a dream.

Really pretty it still looks rustic but in a modern way, have you thought about putting a floating shelf above the dogs treats and maybe some framed paintings or pictures of the house might look more homey

I love the different baskets in the top shelves, I think it's cute and adds character. The flooring is also amazing, I honestly thought you were gonna say it was original to the house cause it just has that vibe.

Looks beautiful. One of my suggestions when you were asking for ideas was to paint the paneling, it turned out great. Love the floor, paint colour, library ladder and the bridle/saddle hooks, I'd put the rest of them up though. I also like that the baskets are an eclectic collection not matching.

Great job on your boot/mud/dog room. Have you considered a wreath, perhaps a eucalyptus wreath for the empty corner wall? Eucalyptus offers a lot of great benefits, with one being an insect repellant.
It probably isn't worth the risk of having any toxic plants in the space the dogs sleep in.
I personally like that the baskets don't all match. It's seems more real. More personal to you guys.

Love the renovation looks so warm and welcoming. I vote for hanging the rest of the bridles make it a collection and a nod to previous stables. Also while I love the brick fireplace I think stacked wood in there would finish it off nicely. Just my two cents.
I always love home decor videos Fleur! Especially makeover videos haha. The room really looks great! Really homey and usable. If you feel it's a bit bare, you could add one thing to the fireplace mantel. Not clutter, but something to make it less sparse. I LOVE the floor, I really thought you were going to say it was original to the house, it looks so good.

Love it! I think a nice washable rug to wipe boots on, some plants/decor on the mantle, and a small piece of artwork above the dog treats would really help pull it together

I love that you kept the horse bridal hangers in the room. Speaks back to it’s history. Question: will your longer winter coats work on those hooks or will you have to raise a few? Also a basket for winter scarves and mittens might do well. Love the renovation and definitely the right call with the grout over the bricks. Makes them look super aged.

I think the thing in the ceiling next to the light is an old gas tap from when gas lighting was a thing! It would fit with the age of the house pretty accurately
