why do I feel like crying?? this is one of the most stunning and labor intense projects I've ever seen a single person do. I seriously can not believe what you have been able to accomplish with your own two hands. this is literally a dream kitchen and your eye for design and detail is elevating it even further - the dogs were the right choice! not the mention the beautiful work you do with filming and editing. I can't say much more than everyone else already did, you should just be so proud of yourself.

Yes!!! I tell my husband that stuff all the time and eagerly sits down to watch with me and is thoroughly engulfed, as I am. It helps that she's doing this in Comfort, TX, close to where we were going to retire!

I grew up adoring HGTV but have never seen anything like the journey with your cottage! The detail, TIME, research, energy and belief in yourself is mind blowing, empowering and contagious. This is beyond amazing! Never get rid of this house because it, along with these videos, will be treasures for your future family to cherish! You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished and for the wonderful example you are setting for others!

I feel as if I’ve been on such an emotional journey with you during this process. As soon as you started showing the before video I started crying. By time you got to the now video I was bawling so hard that I ended up having to go back and watch again because I couldn’t see through all of the tears and snot lol. You’ve not only built a kitchen on your own, you took us all on a journey as your created art. I’m so grateful and I’m privileged to be able to witness your creation come to light. I gonna take a moment to appreciate how brilliantly she positions her camera. The framing is always refreshing and the montages where she work is my favourite things. Not only is she is an amazing interior designer/decorator but she is a wonderful artist when it comes to camera work. Many people try to renovate an old house and keep the vintage charm and I've thought I'd seen that. But this truly looks like you kept the vintage aspects while also adding contemporary functionality without it overtaking the kitchen. Its impressive how you were able to have both and I love it!!
Rewatching this series again. It's so comforting. Someday I'll be in a rocking chair watching these, like my grandpa did with Lawrence Welk

Even though I said I never wanted to renovate a home again... this whole series makes me want to find an old Hill Country "cottage" and renovate using elements that I have seen you do to your amazing house. The fact that you have done nearly all the work yourself still amazes me. Each reveal that you have done for the house is elevated. The kitchen is beyond beautiful. Its modern yet styled simplistic, airy and homey. This house and your work needs to be recognized by the City of Comfort, Southern Living Magazine, Architectural Design or whatever other design magazines out there . Bravo MaCenna.

My husband is active duty army and tackling projects on my own helps me feel more in control of an already overwhelming and changing lifestyle. When you started installing the doors I started tearing up.. By the time it was done I was full blown crying. It is beyond beautiful. It have been a hard and long journey. More than we have seen. Tip: Since raw/untreated wood is hard to clean and absorbs everything, it might be a good idea to put a clear coat or paint the inside of the trash can's cabinet, so in case there are any spills you can wipe it down easily.

I think in general it's advisable to treat the inside of the cabinets with *something*.
All the cabinets I believe. I'm sure she used wood filler for the holes from the cup hooks, but I didn't see that. Also, I'm confused, did MaCenna say she did not paint the inside of the cabinet doors? Just primer. They looked okay. I'm going to rewatch.
