You’ve got a perfect balance of a modern industrial kitchen yet it still has a homey traditional feel. It’s light and airy yet the deep cupboard colour contrasts perfectly. Great job, you must be so proud. I’m so jel of that hot water tap too!

Also - that newspaper tip! GENIUS. I love everything about this kitchen - especially the functionality of it all. Drawers that are tall enough to set things up right, sensible countertops, that corner cabinet (!!!!), plug sockets in places that make sense! Living in apartments for my entire adult life (I'm now 27) is weighing on my will to live. I love a sensible design choice! Amazing job!
A tip for small freezer space is rather than put stuff in boxes etc, use bag and freeze them flat, they take up way less space and you can just stack them on top of each other 😊

After watching your videos I asked for that garlic crusher for Christmas, I'm 23, don't have my own house but it was one of my favourite presents. Obsessed!

Quick tip for the cans (if you're going to keep them stored like that where you have to take them out to see the label), is to write the contents on the top of the can with a sharpie. That way when you look at the cans and need to know what you need to get, it's a quick glance rather than rummaging through. :)
(we used to do that at work for storing stock medication bottles in a pull-out drawer hehe)

omg i remember when you first moved in thinking the kitchen wasn't that bad (although not to my taste and maybe not what you wanted) and probably wouldn't have been my priority to do - now comparing the two you were so right to just do it! The space you have now is amazing and i hope you're enjoying it!

Lily, don't worry about baby food and freezing ! You will both figure out when your baby starts eating veggies and fruits - not before 5 months, usually - I promise ! And honestly, I have a 9 month old daughter and despite working 4 days a week I cook her fresh food on weekends so I almost never have to freeze it - plus you can't keep it freezed for more than a couple of weeks so it's never a stock up situation... Anyways, just please, don't you worry sweetie 😉
Loved your Kitchen tour especially the cabinet colour(s) and the quartz Caesar stone counter tops. Marble is nice but quartz is very durable and just as gorgeous to look at, and was my first choice when thinking about my kitchen. Gas is also my preference, I love the control I have with the temperature as opposed to electric/induction hubs.

Hi lily, congratulations on the beautiful new kitchen! Hurrah for the double larder I have one as well and can’t live without it! Ours is from plain English and painted little green gauze love your petrol blue! A lot of people are worried about using real marble but I find if you get a really great piece that’s veined and sealed well, it weathers in a way that is unbeatable. I am Indian and use turmeric daily! I think most kitchen manufacturers say that about marble to cover their backs. Good luck with the new arrival! Xxx

Holy cats! That freezer is tiny!!! I agree though - having the double pantry is spectacular. I do think a second freezer will serve you well - Your kitchen is just beautiful... i love the colors and the window wall is breathtaking... thanks for sharing

This is such a well balanced kitchen and I AM IN LOVE with your larder!!
I grew up with a gas cooker in the kitchen and if you really stress that the kids cannot touch the cooker at all when they're very young, kids get used to staying away from it. You have to teach kids that it's for the adults and that when they're older, mommy will teach them how to use it. If you create a mild fear of getting burned in your children's minds, they'll naturally stay away from it.

My mom is renovating a new house and I'm going to send her this video for inspiration. :) PS when you first opened the fridge I was like oh man that's small for a family. and then you said the exact same thing lol I grew up in a house with a built in double sided MASSIVE fridge/freeze and we took up every inch of it (5 kids to be fair)! always something you can change later

When your oven is on you can just use a baby gate on the two sides of your island / oven area. I know it can be tacky but it's safe when ever the oven is on and can be put away as soon as the oven cools back down.

Do you have space in your laundry to put an additional freezer? In Australia we normally put drinks fridge or extra freezer in laundry or garage ( attached to house)
