Mountbatten held a series of naval commands and was commander of Combined Operations, and was responsible for the disastrous Dieppe raid in 1942

Discovered Two years ago ( through my great grandmothers memoir) that my great grandparents had met Lord and Lady Mountbatten at a birthday party for Lord Mountbatten. I was a kid when this happened, but remember it vividly. It was all that got talked about in my house for a long time. I also remember the slogan - '13 dead and not forgotten, we got 18 and Mountbatten.'. Chilling stuff. I am Irish, I was appalled at this senseless act. A couple of years ago, I had the misfortune of dealing with the son of the killer of Mountbatten and those boys.
