Michael is best known for his fiddle playing but he is equally as good at playing a mandolin, guitar, and banjo. Crazy talented.

Fiddling is an international art form criminally overlooked, undervalued, and misunderstood. As a life long fiddler, it is very gratifying when one of our own is given recognition outside of the immediate fiddle family.

Michael is absolutely one of the best if not the best player of our time. He can absolutely burn the strings up and play faster than you can possibly imagine, all with those disabilities. When he was a young kid he said he doesn’t see them as disabilities, but he can make do with what he has !! Amazing man !!!

He's not just blind and deaf, he was diagnosed with a neurological disorder as a child that's supposed to affect the way the left and right side of his body communicates. Essentially he wasn't supposed to be able to coordinate what his left and right side was doing. That being coupled with being blind and deaf would have prevented probably anybody else from achieving this level the musicianship.
