I have been a Bastien for a long time. Way back from when he was in Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave. They sound so good together on this one. I always enjoy watching your reaction to this song.

Bravo! This is really so awesome! A great entrance for Bastien, but as if he had always been part of Home Free. The Home Free sound is just there. Especially if you listen to it with your headphones. Because even though the lead, harmonies, bass and beatboxing are so great, you still hear/recognize every member sound/voice in this song. The video is also fun, as if Home Free is in my living room where people are singing and laughing.
It's a little more than "as if he had always been part of Home Free." Bastien has had quite a bit of experience WITH and IN Home Free. Here's a direct quote from Home Free...

What a great introduction to the new guy! According to Rob, this was Bastien's suggestion. I'm glad he's not a vocal-clone of Austin. That would have been soooo wrong.
Yup, the high notes towards the end were done by Chance. He's got quite the range, too. Which is totally awesome. Love Tim's bass on this one, too. And Rupp's beatboxing is fabulous as well. And Rob's ad libs. Overall, a perfect song.
BTW, all Adams go by their last names (professional last name in Chance's case (it's actually his middle name)). Though I see a problem with Rob and Rupp... They can sound quite similar, depending on the pronunciation.

Speaking of Patreons...have you ever reacted to Chris Rupp's arrangement of "When the Saints Go Marchin' In?" I didn't go to your catalog and search. If you didn't, you should pick up on it. It was in 2016, shortly after he left Home Free. There were two other big name YT-ers with him, AND...they did the video AT the Patreon offices!
Patrons also join David Wesley for background choruses. You could check out a couple of them, but (sigh) warning...he doesn't allow reactions for some silly reason. The music, however, is wonderful (old hymns, many times...he's a very strong believer). He was doing the window-box thing LONG before the "crud" came along. A lot of people modeled their lockdown stuff after those videos.

I redid my "Home Free Vocal Ranges Chart" on my site, over the last two days, and I made sure to make that VERY clear, after listening another couple of times to the video.
Excited for the future. I will miss Austin but i am a HF fan and Bastien is a great Singer.
Great review QOFY!!! Love this Bonnie Raitt song. Adam (Bastien) sounded great. A different sound but that’s ok. He sounded great and Rob and Chance killed it too. He can get up there, maybe not quite as high but I thought he sounded smooth!
I am so glad they showed Chance doing that high note, because people don't realize he does that in other songs, too - just like Tim does.
They needed a singer with energy to fill Austin's place, and they got it in Bastein. And they knew him already, he'd been in HF years ago.

Bastien has great energy and I’m sure HF will be better than ever before. This big leap has happened every time there’s a new member. Although I’ve said ”please no more changes, this is perfect”, I can see this change is good and all the guys are excited for this new era.

That mountain behind the man in the hat and drink, looks to be Mount Rainer. As it is the same mountain outside my window. So Home Free may have been in Nashville but I would say he was in WA.

Hmmm...I see more dance moves in their future. 😉 Adam B has more natural rhythm he is very comfortable with and it shows. His performance presence is great and adds energy. Austin was fantastic, Bastein will add other depths. Not as country? Not sure as this is a pop song. The upper register harmonies rose to the occasion! Excellent!

I'm happy they've put out a new cover 'cuz I'll be listening to Adam Bastien without comparing him to Austin (I know I shouldn't but I can't help it). As always, their singing, harmonies & Adam's beatboxing are great. Bastien is from Detroit and I've read that his full last name is Bell-Bastien (a hyphenate with his husband's name).
But I am still going to miss Austin

He 's not an Austin, can't go quite as high, But he fits in and I'm enjoying his voice. Don't You love Chance In his high range. Tim is 5-octave. Chance is 4-octave. Got my tickets Home Free is here In September. I try to find them close-by. They are my Birthday present to myself. Adam Rupp will always be my Adam. Adam Chance will always be Chance so Adam Bastien will be Bastien.
We don’t know the full range of Adam Bastien. At least I don’t. So not sure if he can or cannot go as high as Austin but it doesn’t matter as the song inspires the artists to show what they can do. We will never know
