Bastien was singing with Home Free when Rob joined the group around 2009. He was part of the 2nd string that fulfilled touring obligations while the main group were filming The Sing-Off. Bastien chose this for his first video with the group. This is just the right song to introduce Bastien to the Home Fries. It's on my daily playlist. Bastien has his own energy and style very different from Austin. Different is not bad. I'm eager to see what comes next. Great reaction.
When I first discovered Home Free Chance was already a part of the group. So listening to the older videos with Chris was not such a drastic change or upsetting to me. It was fun going back and watching their performances on the Sing Off and seeing how far they had come and even improved. Watching Austin go from that baby faced youth to the mature singer he is today has been a treat. But saying good-bye to him as a member of the group will take some getting use to. The addition now of Bastien to the vocal mix will change the vocal dynamics of the group as Chance's presence did when he came on board. It will be interesting to see how his presence effects their song choices and dynamics going forward. As always enjoy your reactions.
The more Acapella that you look into, the more connected you will see that the community is. Chance and Bastion each came from other groups. They all seem to be supportive and friendly towards each other and often share fan bases
Guys, it's "Bass-TEEN". Tim said it but y'all missed it. & Rob commented that it was BassTEEN that suggested this be his debut song/video & they were all 💯 on board. It was perfect! 😉😉🥰🥰
Fantastic! Just like I knew it would be! I'm excited to see more of the energy and smiles Bastien brings to the group. They made a great choice for this addition to the group. I hope people realize he wasn't picked to replicate Austin . No one could do that. He was picked for the great things he can add. You can see how comfortable they seem together. Thanks for the Home Free reactions!
Bastien was their first call. He had performed with them off and on way back (2005-2012), was part of ‘B’ group when guys were on sing off. He also was on The Voice with his husband Jerome as part of “OneUp Duo” (now “bell-bastien) and was part of Chris Rupps group 7th Ave. so he has a long history with the guys and does fit right in.
Chance did a great job behind Rob on that high adlib. Adam Chance was holding up the sign about the 2 Adams to many at the every end of the video. I think it was a joke.
I think the "2 Adams 2 Many" was just them joking around about a five man group having three Adams. I really enjoyed watching your reaction! And Bastien -- wow! I fell in love with him right away.
They did a great cover of one of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. Bastien's voice was perfect for the lead. Everyone sounded awesome in the background vocals, with Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion. Looking forward to more of the new songs with the newest member.
Adam Bastien was in Chris Rupp's group 7th avenue, you should check some of them out. He and his husband had a duo and were actually on the voice. He does fit right in with the guys, I just saw them live and they sounded amazing together. Can't wait for more
The original was sung by Bonnie Raitt, and it was one of my college jams. (I'm ooold.) I think A. Bastien (bas-TEEN) is going to be a fabulous addition to the group. There have been some complaints about him being "pop-ish" in his vocal quality, but I think it is a good addition to the sound. The current lineup in Home Free only has one original member - Adam Rupp. Everyone else joined at a later date. Bastien had a run with them early on, so he's in the same age range as the rest of the group. I thought that was an important factor, as it does help cohesiveness to have everyone be in a similar phase of life. This gave Rob a chance to take it low and Chance to take it up and wail. Adam & Tim gave it the solid underpinning that Home Free thrives on.

Welcome Bastien! This is a cover of an iconic Bonnie Raitt song. If you haven't listened to her sing, try her recent grammy winner "Just Like That", one of the most emotional heartbreaking songs you will ever hear.
Great reaction! I think you did miss Chance's high long note that was amazing for a person that usually goes low.. And I think Adam B's last name is pronounced like Bas-teen.. They said it in the out-ro but its easily missed.. Cannot wait for more!
During the premiere, Chance said he was just joking around lip syncing Bastiens high notes and they decided to leave it in the video. He is capable of high notes, but those weren’t his.
He's not Austin but he's not supposed to be. They've already had an Austin in the group and he was spectacular. Adam holds his own from the get go and seems to have sparked a subtle shift in style. Time will tell if that's a slightly new direction or a one off anomaly
Adam Rupp, Adam Chance, Adam Bastien. A wee bit confusing, so I think we're all going to go with their last names. Hmm... I think that Chance is a middle name.
I love his voice and I understand why they picked him. I do think they rushed it by giving him the lead right away. Before, they would give the new member background or little solo parts - I’m guessing to not freak out the viewers. Like I said before, I love his voice. However, he gives the group a COMPLETELY different sound and that’s really hard for me.

Enjoyed the video, Adam Bastienseems to fit in well, different flavor to the sound. Lets see where it goes. Also the original singer of this song has a very unique voice and sound. Suggest you check out Bonnie Raitt. Have a Heart, A Thing Called Love or Something to Talk About
Originally done by the legendary Bonnie Raitt, singer, song writer and guitar player. She is R&B
Cover of a big hit for Bonnie Raitt quite a while back.
I believe he was on the voice with his husband jersome bell bastein. Cant 10:05 remember what season. They were a duo called OneUp
This is a cover of the great Bonnie Raitt's song. They put a nice spin on it but for pure soul, check out Bonnie.
He's not Austin but he's not supposed to be. They've already had an Austin in the group and he was spectacular. Adam holds his own from the get go and seems to have sparked a subtle shift in style. Time will tell if that's a slightly new direction or a one off anomaly
Ok another Adam what nickname are we going to give him so there's no Adam confusion. Maybe AB
#HighlyReActiveReactions #HomeFree I like your reactions, I love Home Free. The song is great.
But it's pronounced BAS-TEEN, please.
Adam Rupp, Adam Chance, Adam Bastien. A wee bit confusing, so I think we're all going to go with their last names. Hmm... I think that Chance is a middle name.
I'm just not sold on Bastien yet, but to be fair it took a minute for me to love Chance 😊
Yes need to hear him harmonize as backup singer first
FYI his last name is pronounced “BAS-TEEN”…
His name is pronounced Bass-teen
Pronunciation Bassteen.
Fan- freakin- tastic 0
I love his voice and I understand why they picked him. I do think they rushed it by giving him the lead right away. Before, they would give the new member background or little solo parts - I’m guessing to not freak out the viewers. Like I said before, I love his voice. However, he gives the group a COMPLETELY different sound and that’s really hard for me.
Oh! And it’s pronounced bas-teen
Austin's wife managed to ruin Home Free. So sad.
