I just watched a new interview with Marco and he said that he ran into and talked to Tarja in Spain so maybe one day they will perform together again.
They sang together twice that I know of since. Once on Ber version of Ave Maria and once he joined her as a guest during a festival. They were the first to bury the hatchet. I expect becauase of their relative maturirty and because both being singers they can relate to the struggles. No doubt getting past his own demons would help him see her struggles in a new light.
I don't know if it was the case but when someone who is well composed and quiet who puts others ahead of herself tries to pull back some of their own space and express their own needs it can sadly be ignored or dismissed. Mix drugs/alcohol/money into the mix and the interpersonal dynamics get tricky. Also perhaps if their issues get them to therapy perhaps they can learn to see what she was dealing with and that prompted them to mend fences. Plus personal loss can certainly motivate someone to reach out to old friends. To reconnect to those we lost along the way while we are still here. Phone calls, e-mail, its never been easier to reach out to try to reconcile the past.
And I have no doubt Tarja and Marko teaming up for her Outlanders project and her joining Marko for his next project would go over like gang busters with their fans. I am one and I am all for it.
For me Nightwish is not the same without Tarja and Marko. their voices together were unique.

Cool Reaction. Sadly, in 2015, Tuomas changed the arrangements to this Nightwish classic. It no longer has this energy or the energy of the 2013 Wacken performance. He lowered the vocal key and slowed the pace. Thank goodness we have the End of an Era and Wacken performances.❤
I love Floor but this is unmatched.
My favourite Nightwish song. I prefer Tarja on this one, but I really do like all of them, including Annette’s. This song is interesting, because all the singers have some kind of issue with the chorus. Floor is perfectly on pitch but spends most of this song in her chest voice, and ends up belting, a lot. Some say even to the point of screaming. Annette takes it down at least one key. Sometimes, Tarja has pitch issues live. The studio version is flawless. I just find it interesting, none of it bothers me. I enjoy them all. Ironically, Marko is the one who is most comfortable with the song.
Tuomas is so goddamn extra during this performance, I have to laugh every time.

Out of all the Ever Dream versions, this is the second best. The best version is Lowlands 2005.

This was a great concert, but can never watch it without the knowledge that the entire band besides Tarja, knew the whole concert, it was over for her afterwards. I think Marko said she or I one have to go. You could tell it was hard on Tuomas especially, was a hard but necessary call for the future of the band.
I cant with this "necessary" bs, she was already leaving and they had already mutually decided over the terms and the conditions. But they did her dirty by publishing that letter with distorted half-truths, and had planned it for months in advance. Non of that was necessary, as she was already leaving. It was immature, childish, and viscious. Btw, Marco has apologised to Tarja in person, hopefully Tuomas will one day too.
@@FemaleMetalLover The whole band signed off on the letter saying it was true. You can either believe the whole band or Tarja. Yes, she already agreed to another album, but the band would then be losing her and Marko, Marko made it clear it was her or him leaving after that show it seems. I really believe the band, and I believe it Tuomas deeply didn't want to do it. All hearsay, but believe the 4 of them over Tarja.

@@fredverkerk838 Cat peace ended: you can't even hear how Marko sings Floor out of the floor with just his short backing vocals, so it's a respectable achievement for you to be able to hear even one trick in Tarja's voice.

@@eddiehesselman3904 look old nightwish for us was the best band ever!!! I love nightwish until know and as long as they will go... I live floor but for me old nightwish with tarja was something unique. Now with floor is different. Good but different. Tuomas and empu makes all the band.
She's great, but Floor is a better fit for the band IMO. She's a more diverse vocalist with the big power that a band like this really needs in front of it.

I am a newish member of the Nightwish family and obviously listened to Floor first. I have tried really hard to get into Nightwish with Tarya but from a musical point of view and a perfect fit for the band Floor is far superior with her vocal range, plus she is a total show woman and sings every song with feeling and has a touch of theatrics in her performance. Tarya I'm afraid is like a lump of wood and to me this performance is a bit cringey.
There are lots of people who enjoyed the old symphonic metal Nightwish and there are lots of people who enjoy Floor's pop metal Nightwish. It's personal preference but they're both great singers.
Art is genuinely subjective, so I'll have to disagree with you 100% here. They're just different. As great as Floor is sometimes she cannot quite reach the greatness Tarja achieves in some of her performances.
But I will say the exact sane thing about Tarja, as great as she is sometimes Floor is a better fit for some songs.
