I'm so happy that you finally reacted to Nightwish with Tarja and if you liked this The Phantom of the Opera will blow your mind, I still recall the first time I heard it I just couldn't believe how the opera and metal could match so perfectly that is why Nightwish became so popular around the world and I still recall that I had the luck to be in a concert with Tarja, Marko and Jukka in their line up.....Nightwish is still is a great band after all their line up changes and hopefully we will enjoy their music for many years, great reaction you have become one of my favorite reactors because I think you are so transparent, honest and passionate, please never change!
Shocks me still with the absolute magic & chemistry together that Tarja and Marko only had 4 short years together in Nightwish. 2001 -2005. But anytime they share a stage together we see that old magic.❤❤
I appreciate all three singers of Nightwish for so much, but this song...for me, this one will always be Tarja's. She just brings such magic and melancholy to it. It truly feels full of dream-like longing. I highly recommend checking out some stuff from Tarja's solo career! Of course she sounded amazing in Nightwish, but these videos are over 15 years old now, and all that time she's been improving. She writes, composes, and largely produces all of her own songs and has quite an impressive discography covering both metal and classical music. Some great ones to start with are Until My Last Breath (live from Act I at Rosario, Argentina), her cover of Supremacy by Muse (live at Woodstock), and the unexpectedly brilliant bluegrass cover of Nightwish's Sleeping Sun that she performed with Steve N Seagulls.
It's so damn cute to see you get into the music as you do. Every expression tells a story. Amazing reaction as usual. Tarja is amazing. But I am that person who loves all singers that has been and are in Nightwish. I know their different styles and range, but they all brought their own thing to the amazing Nightwish history.
This music might be written for her. For Tarja. I know a lot of people don't believe what Tarja's husband said about Tuomas being in love with her, but I don't know. His reaction at the beginning always gets to me. So even though I love Floor's version as well, this one touches deeper.
He fired her because she woulden't have him. Simple. This was their last tour, I was on one ov the koncerts. He knew all along what will happen after this tour, she didn't. What can you say about that kind of, hm, something. Since then, for me, there was no Nightwish. Everything that followed was a pale copy and even Floor is great singer, Tarja is light year above her
This song was obviously written for Tarja when things were still good between them. Look at Tuomas crying at the start because he knows this will be the last time Tarja will sing it with them.

Tarja 's high coloratura - soprano , dramatic voice and Marco' s Baritone dramatic growling one make the perfect asset for that song ... Epic ! That song she song that at '' End of Era '' concert the last as front woman to Nightwish ! But at that concert Floor Jansen sung with Tarja , lucky one ? Not think so! After Tarja was Annette Olzon , a great voice too , diferrent from Tarja ! All the queens of Nightwish made their stein at that band ! Now Annette is in a project band and she fits in like Devil ! If you interested , the band's name is '' The dark element '' and she 's amazing !
You are going to love the Tarja/Marko Nightwish version of Phantom. I think I heard or read somewhere that it is a favorite of Andrew Lloyd Weber himself. Floor did a version as well with Dutch phantom Henk Poort on the Beste Zengers Dutch TV show. It's good, but I like the Nightwish version better. Another song that I like Tarja's version a little better than Floor's is NEMO.
Oh yes, The Phantom from this same concert is amazing. No other version comes even close. Thank you for doing some of these old songs with Tarja too. Floor is amazing, but as an old fan I tend to prefer Tarja on these old songs (on most days).
And when you decide to do your research for "The Poet And The Pendulum", just ignore all that "diva talk". There is a reason why so many old fans abandoned this band when they fired Tarja. She only wanted to have a solo career (something they all have had since) and she didn't like touring on smokey bus with bunch of drunken rock stars or party after concerts. She matured faster than boys, and wanted to be with her husband, who guys didn't like at all. She is very humble and down to earth person, who really loves her fans. She had already told guys, that she will leave after next album, but guys still wanted to humiliate her with an open letter. It was very immature and cruel. I'm sure that after a years of dissension, they all had said things that they didn't necessarily mean. Anyway, guys handled that situation very badly, and fans got pissed for Tuomas. He was very depressed after these events and wrote "The Poet And The Pendulum" + bunch of other songs.
And one more thing. Tarja and Floor are friends since early Nightwish tours. Floor even asked Tarja if it's ok for her, that she will join Nightwish. They had a live chat on Instagram few months ago, and just recently when Floor was doing some "Nemo" duets on TikTok with fans, one fan suggested on her FB page, that she should do that with Tarja too. Floor seemed to be all in. Hopefully they will do that.
Hoping for Tarja/Floor fans to respect everyone's point of view on these singers. This is one of the songs where I feel both singers perform the song really well. I generally prefer Floors belting in this one but Tarja's dark bewitching tambre is a close second. Marko kills it as usual. Yes to the Tarja/Nightwish Phantom of the Opera mainly for Marko's dark creepy Phantom and Tuomas's arrangement. Tarja's vocals are good but I prefer Floor's vocals from Best Zangers . Can't wait to watch the video of her and Henk singing it live in Amsterdam.
Agree. Tarja, Anette, and Floor are all great. I do like the fact that Floors voice is so versatile and can be used so many different ways. Marco will never be replaced.
Nice that you also react to some of the "old" concerts with Tarja. For a very good reason, there is a lot of focus on the slightly newer recordings with Floor, but Nightwsh has always been a very talented band 🙂

Floor and tarja sang together the gary moor song over the hills and faraway. It is great. If you have time see it. They are good friends and they made a livestream on instagram together last year. No reason for people to compare them. They are both amazing on their own way. Have a good day
The Lead singer has a trained, pleasant classical voice..very low, deep and throaty. She has a Wide Vibrato. I expected more, considering her vocal fans. But, she's good, though her "sound" is a typical soprano's.

I was playing the game Alan Wake Remastered. It is very interesting. Sort of a psychological thriller game about a writer who searches for his wife when she goes missing and ends up fighting against forces of evil in the darkness of the woods.

EverDream suited Floor more, especially the Wacken 2013 version. Tarja has some epic songs that suits her more operatic voice. Phantom of the Opera a not to be missed performance. Both Tarja and Floor are really super stars
I did like Tarja in my youth but she sounds better in boutique songs to me. My favorite song with her in it is Elvenpath because it fits her voice so well. Its one of the few songs I enjoy her version better than Floors. Most songs I like Floor in though. I really didnt like the other singer either and didnt follow the band in those years.
Tarja's voice is uniquely her - but, for me, Floor's enunciation and timing is so much better and gives more depth and meaning to the songs. Tarja sings the lyrics, Floor feels them...
