Once again a very helpful video (: I'm assuming night shift will be similar and a quick question, is it compulsory for qualified nurses to do night shift in the UK or can you choose to do only day shift?

+Thaminah Begum Thanks. Yeah, its pretty similar. I am actually going to do a video about nights sometime as I really struggle with them. It is mostly expected that all nurses will work nights in the UK, yes. I am sure you can get exceptions if you have health conditions though. Mostly a nurse in the UK will do 13 shifts every 4 weeks 7 will be days and 6 nights, all mixed into that 4 weeks in no particular order.

+Danielle88 Hamilton Hi, I did a little search for you. One of the things that was on the agenda when I was studying and is still an issue now is obesity in children, particular in relation to seeing type 2 diabetes in children that was formally seen as an adult disease. This is an Article I found about it from July journals.rcni.com/doi/abs/10.7748/ncyp.27.7.16.e638
Other issues that aren't particularly up and coming but have always been relevant are how to develop therapeutic relationship with children and the 'breast is best' argument. These are some articles I found on those subjects. journals.rcni.com/doi/abs/10.7748/ncyp.27.4.30.e566
      journals.rcni.com/doi/abs/10.7748/ncyp.26.10.15.s23
I am going to try about make an interview advice video soon as I know many of you will have interviews coming up. I did one a year or so ago so you can check that out if your havent already seen it. I wish you all the best with your interview. Let me know how you get on.
      Natasha x

Hi :) I would like to be a nurse but worry about remembering things, etc as I have a condition called dyspraxia which in work will mainly affect my short term memory, hand eye co-ordination and spatial awareness. It's not severe but it can interfere. What do you think? Can I do it? I'm currently a care assistant.

Hi Sarah. I actually have dyslexia and also have a lot of issues with my short term memory. The advice I would give is to ask the people you work with what they think, they will know you and how you work better than I do. I think it is something that you can learn. When I was a student nurse I had issues remembering what I needed to do and got in trouble a few times for not following instructions, when I just forgot. I tended to write everything down so I remembered and slowly got to a point that I could remember and no longer had to do that for everything.

    helloooo :)
can i start of by thanking you for your videos, they have truly all been amazing
i just wanted to ask whether you could do a interview video when applying for the course at university, as i will be attending a interview in jan for paediatric nursing and i am really confused on the answers i would give to scenario questions, for instance, how to deal with difficult children. also i would love advice on some things we should research for the interview as i currently am in a difficult position

+Cameron Hussain Hi, thanks so much for watching and commenting. Yes, I am planning to do an interview video very soon as I have heard from many viewers that they have interviews in January. I did one in 2011 and that is still on my channel if you want to check it out but I am going to do an updated one soon.
