Cordelia wanted him to be more sensitive, that happens and she can't stop rolling her eyes. I think this was needed for Angel, he's a dork who keeps people at arm's length. He's not used to having actual friends who are present in his life. His emotions are exaggerated, but this showed that he does care for Cordelia and Doyle and how they perceive him.

So an actual comedy episode here. But we do learn some important details on Kate's daddy issues.

One of the weaker episodes of S1 I think. An interesting take however on the relationship between Kate and her father, and how children, when they get older, always are seeking the approval and love of their parents which isn't sometimes reciprocated. This episodes shows how psychologically damaged Kate was with the relationship with her father. As usual some great comedy moments between the three, which is a constant through S1
