      Unfortunately Spike did a lot of really questionable... or straight out horrible things in his past, some of which Xander and the rest of the Scoobies were privy to. In the instant with the flowers, Spike was trying to be genuine, but lets be fair, a few nice things wont take away from all the horrible things you did before.
      Don't get me wrong I loved spike, but all I'm saying is that I can see were Xander was coming from in thinking the worst from him, that he was trying to be manipulative and take advantage of Buffy's weakened state of mind while she's grieving her mother. Its like a serial killer suddenly having a change of heart and deciding that he will no longer kill people... are you going to be quick to trust him or be nice to him? Spike was pretty much a serial killer before he fell in love, so was Angel I know, but correct me if I'm wrong, Spike did not have his soul back at this point, Angel did when they met him, so as far as anyone knew Spike could go back to killing at any moment.

      YES! Thing about ships. If ppl feel a ship is soulmates that’s fine. But I hate weak arguments that say “just because”. If Bangle fans say “soul mates”, they must back it up. Because I can back Spuffy up with tons of evidence. Spike got closer to Buffy’s family than Angel ever did. A huge part of love is knowing someone’s family. Afterall, that’s what marriage leads to

    • @Brilleetoile
      @Brilleetoile 2 года назад +116

      @@lessismore8533 Another thing I noticed about Spike is the fact that strangely Joyce never seemed "scared" of him ?? Like, everytime she'd meet Angel she was always wary, but when it came to Spike ? Nothing. Actually, she even looked like she was amused by him lol.
      Bangel wasn't realistic at all. Buffy always acted like a child around him (which she was of course), she was constantly on the edge, overwhelmed. Whereas with Spike she seemed more like herself.
      On another note, as much as I'm a hard Spuffy fan, let's be real, Buffy could never marry a vampire. A relationship with a vampire can't work. While you'll grow old he/she wouldn't.

      @GosieKin You're sooooooo right! Buffy being with Spike was a result of her depression in coming back from heaven and not only not having a solid support system but also having a huge amount of responsibility placed on her shoulders. That likely wouldn't have been a problem if Joyce were alive. I don't think Spike would've attempted to r*pe Buffy if they hadn't had a previous sexual relationship, and I don't think they'd ever have had one if Buffy wasn't harming herself with Spike because she had no other way to cope with her increasingly stressful situation. Got to say I prefer Buffy & Spike together than her & Angel. Angel was a miserable, self-pitying character & Angelus was just pure evil. All this without a Soul & he fought to get his back, to be worthy of Buffy. So yeah! Spike was the better man

    When Angel didn’t have a soul he came up to Joyce and might have killed her.
    With a soul he’s outraged that spike is with her and wants to protect her.
    If he knew that Joyce knows he’s a vampire with no soul, socialized with him before, feels safe alone with him. All despite meeting him for the first time by axeing his head to protect Buffy.
    She still and always has liked and trusted an unsouled spike more than a souled Angel.
    Why?
    Because Angel was with Buffy and hurt her, and spike wasn’t.
