Love you love you love. We need more forthright women like you. And what a relief to laugh at the pain and awkwardnesses of life. Thank you.

So well said, all of it, and totally agree about surrogacy. We are not objects to be bought and sold. Good reminder at the end for keeping up the pelvic floor exercises - it still astonishes me how little interest there is in women's health, how we have to learn how to care for ourselves through whispered hearsay. The NHS tells us to put up and shut up, it's only when it gets dire they respond.

The NHS is terrible all round - I didn't see a gynaeocologist ever in the UK, not once (I'm a British Citizen, but a French Resident who has lived in France the last 5 years) Here in France women see them regularly - and are given a proper, full gynaeocological exam along with a full breast examination, every year or so, as standard. Healthcare all round is incredible here in France compared to the UK's NHS, and it was only when I moved here & experienced a different healthcare system that I realised: the NHS isn't healthcare at all. The NHS is a psychologically damaging sham that disconnects us from our actual health.
It ALL functions like you say: ignore everything until a crisis arrives, then end up in A & E. Then the Govt. blames US for going to A & E!!! I really believe we should scrap the NHS, it is absolutely not fit for purpose. I have been terribly psychologically damaged by the NHS and I believe this is true of every British person who has to rely on it, too. I hope I never have to experience British 'healthcare' ever again, because it's not health, and it's not care. Well said @faescotland with: "The NHS tells us to put up & shut up and it's only when it get's dire they respond." True words!

Being able to breastfeed my three children was one of the most special experiences I had as a mother.
One c-section, one forceps delivery & one natural birth and Elaine has given me a 💡 moment describing what could now be happening to my peri-menopausal body because of what I went through in my three births! ❤

You don't get paid for any of it in the UK - there's no proposal to allow commercial surrogacy , which is as it should be.

@@jujutrini8412 afaik there isn't - they want to change the terms in favour of the "commissioning" parent's right to the child, but it would still be illegal to pay for it.
I've no doubt ppl will find get around, but then they can already do that 🤷‍♀️

Most surrogacy arrangements are with desperate women in third world countries, where money is used as coercion. As long as the father is a UK citizen and provides the genetic material, the baby will be naturalized automatically regardless of birthplace.

It's not just the word mother, the words father and children, have gone out of fashion as well. As a maths tutor, I noticed people looking at me funny every time I said the word children. I had to go along with it. Now I don't say children I say students instead.

We know, statistically, the effect of losing the concept of the father in society. If we lose the concept of mother, we are finished.

Once during a high risk pregnancy while I had the ultrasound wand on my belly as I was fighting nausea my husband (God love him) said we're pregnant. Oh no. I'm pregnant. You are not pregnant. I'm the one with constant nausea and invasive medical procedures. You were just playing on your phone.
Yeah he never said that again.

So sobering. I read a fictionalised account of surrogacy farms in India by Kishwar Desai, hair raising but had no idea about the UK or richer countries. Plus I did not know how separation from their mothers body affects children.

I wonder how all of this plays into the coming age of babies being gestated outside of the body. The technology is being developed now. The younger generation of women don’t want to carry babies anymore and it may be contributing to the loss of awareness of the erasure of women and mothers.

As a biologist I very much doubt this is going to happen anytime soon. Pregnancy isn’t just about having a uterus it’s a whole-body communication system only replaceable in the last couple of months when the baby can be autonomous!

Babies get their immune systems though the birth canal and by breast feeding. Who knows what awful side effects IVF has on the child.

IVF? What are you talking about?
IVF babies have a completely normal birth and mothers breastfeed as normal.
Are you thinking they actually live and grow in a test tube?😂😂😂

    • @shelleyphilcox4743
      @shelleyphilcox4743 Год назад +1

@sarcodonblue Daft remark. IVF babies are born in the usual way and breastfed in the usual way, unless like any other mum you need a caesarean and/or have to, or choose to formula feed.
Good grief, research at least a little bit!

There is some evidence that there is a higher rate of problems in babies where fertilisation occurred “in vitro” ie outside the oviduct where it normally occurs. Just saying

Amazing. As a breast feeder of 4 for almost 2 years each, I am now concerned a bout what is in the milk of mothers today. We were warned not to eat or not eat certain things, and then it came out we might have pesticides in our milk, but what about the covid vaccines? Has any research been done?
