I would like to know what kind of camera you’re using as well as the arm you’re using to hold it over your workspace. It would help me immensely. Thanks for the tutorials!
Holy beans was this video helpful lol. I got a Tourbox a few months back and I could never see myself with out it. It really does make things so much easier. I also am so thankful for this video cause I had no clue about the newest software updates. (think I was using 4. something lol) The little menu toggle and resizing the HUD is SUCH a nice thing to have now!
Yea, when software doesn't announce to you it has updates available it just rarely happens XD Sometimes I sit in an old version of Clip Studio Paint for MONTHS because it doesn't give me the option to auto-update. And CSP even TELLS me whenever it has new features XD I just keep missing it hahaha.
I've grown so used to annotating and memorizing what short cut does that you know, this kinda feels more like a novelty, but in the beginning i could see myself using a tourbox.
I've bought one of those one handed, half keyboards for gaming to use with my Deco 2. It was great, but this looks 1000% better with all the customization and dials.
Years ago, I had a drawing setup that used an old BCR2000 midi controller (basically a box with a bunch of knobs). It was complete overkill for that task (especially since I was just using a small Graphire 4 tablet, and later a small Bamboo tablet) but it's what I had already at the desk for music purposes, so it was just serendipitous that it worked. Art-wise, I only had it configured for Gimp.. not sure if it would work in other graphics programs. It mainly allowed me to control things like brush settings; size, opacity, hardness, force, etc.. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I do remember it took me a while to get it working the way I wanted. Later on, I tried to set it back up with a smaller midi controller and had trouble, so I gave up.
The Tourbox seems a bit too fancy for my little tablet with 6 expresskeys, but it is tempting, ngl Edit: I see I'm not alone about adding small tabs on the buttons to remind myself what they do, I feel a bit less dumb now 😅
I use a razer orbweaver kind of the same way (just no visual on screen widget for that one but way more customizable and more keys). I got it for playing games on my laptop while I travel and now it has more use as a macro keyboard for my work than gaming.
Don't have the Tourbox, but I do have the XP Pen 24 Pro. I still found it hard to set ALL Photoshop keyboard shortcuts to the express keys. I mean I use a LOT, so even setting the 4 basics (Space, ALT, CTRL, SHFT) I still needed to have key switching for brush, eraser, smudge, lasso, marquee, pen, canvas color swap, quickmask, zoom, rotate.... you get the idea. And I try not to use the right side keys so my hand is always holding the pen. But here's what the express keys are VERY HANDY for, and frankly really surprised it doesn't get brought up more often, especially by artists who want to stick to the keyboard out of familiarity, and say they like sleeker tablet frames (which is fair). So still use the keyboard for basic shortcuts (brush, eraser, zoom, rotate...) While the express keys are used for MULTI-KEY shortcuts. I'm talking Transform, reverse selection (from inside to outside), Fill, Image Size, Canvas Size (setting my original full resolution to social media sizing), Flip Canvas, Levels, Repeat Filter. Especially shortcuts like Image and Canvas Size that requires 3 keys.... I'd have to drop the pen where I need both hands to reach all of them. SERIOUSLY, having these kind of shortcuts EASILY accessible with a single button click makes all the difference. So I'm pretty efficient with the combination of my keyboard and express keys. Also I LOVE the dial for brush sizing on-the-fly. Though I have been considering the Tourbox, even though I need a keyboard to name my layers. I'm quite a stickler for that, hehe.
I just finally got an ergotron arm for my cintiq 22 I'd been dreaming and wishing for one since I got the tablet in 2019 lol. Definitely realizing I cannot use it comfortably with my stupid keyboard wedged underneath and I need one of these! Or the wacom remote thing or something. Really appreciated this review honestly if I'm ever in the market to upgrade to larger I may consider one of these newer brands even though I love wacom.
Congrats on your ergotron arm! I know that's quite an investment ^3^ I have the Wacom EK Remote as well - thought it looked cool a few years back so I got one.....I will have to admit I haven't used it a lot T_T I quickly returned to my keyboard instead. I think maybe the keys on it are too symmetrical or something but I just can't seem to memorize the shortcuts on it (and don't get me started on that touch-dial on it - I tried setting it up to change the brush size as well as zooming/rotating the canvas and it's moving everything jaggidy). The amazing thing about it is that you can practically have it in your hand below the table and control everything because it's so small. But poersonally I prefer the TourBox - the dials alone just make it more intuitive I think :3
@@Nadiaxel Thank you so much for this! I was lucky there are two price points for the ergotron I got the cheaper $200+ one not the $600. I will probably look into the tour box but I'm out of money for a bit lol. There was an artist on here who did a video about making a custom one with a little 18 key keypad from a brand called Manhattan they are like $13 may try that for now. I hesitate to put the tourbox on top of my cintiq though it's only 22" so I'd probably have to use it as a keyboard on the desk. Kinda why I liked the remote idea since I can hold it. Decisions decisions!
I bought one of these for video editing a while ago and it works ok but i am annoyed it does not work with the ipad. i really like doing my rough cutting on resolve on the ipad because i can do that just chilling on the sofa instead of at my work station.
The grib/size will definitely be different :3 I have that...Wacom express key remote thingy... And I prefer the TourBox (even a keyboard) over that thing xD
Hey there great review you know I just recently got my own X pen tablet to use with clip studios I was also thinking about getting a controller and not that specific one but kinda like it did you feel unusual using it oh that you had to look at it like you to use it like keyboards and pianos I must look at it to use it so it would seem more of a distraction and every time I had to use it I had to look at it and stop what I'm doing to do whatever I needed it to do some people are just gifted that way anyway yeah good video more clip studio tutorials please thank you have a great day
its 2023 and we live in the future..Cant this be done with a mobile phone to pc clip studio? it has wifi and bluetooth and a screen and is a mini computer?
I like the video I got the neo unfortunately would rather no cables and the haptic feedback is nice too since I’m on the iPhone 8+ but hey oh you can draw really good love it
Customer service is really bad, though. They are incredibly slow to respond, and you can only do so through social media. Bought the tb elite and tablet. Only got one tracking number and only the tb showed up. Still no idea where the tablet I paid for is, and when I got a tracking number for it (told shipped separately) the number didn't work. Haven't gotten any further response from them since they sent me the second (not working) tracking number. I'm hoping I'm not getting scammed and grossly overpaid for the tb. Very concerned since the communication and customer service is so pathetic.
Just recently got this and it doesn’t work for Clip Studio Paint! Tested in Krita and Photoshop and it works. Am I missing something? Is there an extra plugin I need to download? Everything is update to their latest versions.
Unfortunately I don't think it works on system tablets (iPad, Samsung, Surface, etc.). I checked on my iPad is they had an app for it and I couldn't find any. To be 100% sure you would have to check their website >w< But I think it's only for computers right now (although I hope it will be compatible with iPad too because I could really use that!)
So glad your getting the recognition that you truly deserve! I am not in the market, so I will not be trying for this amazing giveaway! So glad your doing well and I always look forward to your videos! Well done Nadia!
It always weirds me out how random and eclectic the button layout looks on this thing, its like the end result of trying to explain to an alien race what an xbox controller looks like from memory.
I'd expect with the cost that the device be capable of offering full operating system support for iOS, Android, iPadOS for iPad pro artists, and Windows. As of now it does not support android or iPadOS. This is a big issue for me. XPPen products, at least in the USA, are products for hobbyists and indies. I get it, the market is small and the devices wont become obsolete so the business wouldn't work without a high price point. That said, at that price point, which rivals a graphics card as well as the digitizer itself, they need to get that compatibility resolved so that I can feel like I am getting the maximum value out of the tourbox.
Maybe if the tablet wasn't the size of a coffee table you could just rotate it and not need a plastic box full of cheap rotary encoders that aren't going to last six months.
The thing looks nice. But in no way it can cost $150. It's insane! C'mon, it's just a mix of a keyboard and a fiddle cube. Official XP-pen remote costs $50. Clip Studio Tabmate costs $80. DualSense for Playstation costs under $100. This price is... unrealistic at the very least.

Tourbox is looking extremely uncomfortable and impractical tbh. Numpad-like hot-swappable mechanical keyboard with knobs is a way better and cheaper choice.
OMG thank you for showing the gap between the pen and display! I have the Artist 24 not-pro - and based on the description is exactly the same screen. Only difference are the added quick keys and peripheral ports - and extra pen - that the pro has. Both are 2.5K resolution. I’d save the $400-600 toward a 4K version if and when any comes out (still drooling at the Huiron 4K 24” display tablet)…
I use XP-pen’s just-released ACK05 quick key pad with scroll wheel. I just wish there was a larger text display when switching functions or even better - I wish the keys had led indicators to display what key is programmed to it - as you can switch between 4 sets of keys. The included stickers are also too big when considering that you can assign 4 different things to one key. I find myself still reaching for my keyboard…
A perfectionist matching with a perfectionist? Nnnaaaaah. I don’t need a social game to tell me I’m a perfectionist either. I know I am - and I hate it. I wish I could just draw without a care in the world. Sadly my perfectionism manifested when I was just 4 year old - so I’m doomed to suffer it.
