Great review. I drove this a couple of times in LA imo it has enough zip in the on ramp, great on everyday commute, decent mpg, good safety features, its Toyota so i expect its realiable.
I really appreciate this video I thought of getting the 2018 bec of the price but after this video I will try to get the 2019 because of the camera on the rear view mirror 😊so thanks!
I laughed about some of the bad and ugly cause the back up camera was something i also thought was bad and the worse for me is needing to watch my head when i get out the car. I just bought the car yesterday and very happy with the purchase. I had an old 2006 vehicle so this is a major upgrade for me. I dont care about the basic functions but i did not know that there wasnt a gps system. Guess i will have to use my phone again lol
Wife owns one. Between her and me, we have gotten it stuck in everything from snow to sand. As far as acceleration, it's really lacking. A small turbo would go a long way in helping the small engine get up and go. The front seats are definitely built for small people. I'm 250lbs, 6ft and the back rest cuts into my sides and the seat cushion on the side is also raised, so if you have big thighs, they're also cutting into them as well.
Gracias por tu video!!!!! Compré una CHR 2018 y las únicas cosas ugly es que frena feo , el sistema de audio es como dinosaurio pero lo demás se siente muy muy bueno!!!!!!
The Bad…transmission failure usually after the 60,000 mile warranty The Ugly…cost around $8500 to be replaced by Toyota. Even a used one is $4000+ The Good…solid daily driver, great gas mileage when the transmission works. Toyota should be ashamed for not recalling this transmission. If this car had a normal automatic or even a stick, it’d be a great car.
I don’t think AWD is a necessity according to experts that report that putting good winter tires is adequate for these small 4-bangers. So I bought a ch-r and I do great in snow and ice with my winter tires on!
The poor visibility and claustrophobic backseats, along with the placement of the rearview camera on the rearview mirror are major drawbacks for me. I really wanted to like this vehicle and was considering getting one. Excellent video though. Thanks.
Good review! My 2018 C-HR’s front bumper keeps hitting every thing from parking blocks, curbs to my drive way when backing out. I already replaced bumper mug guard which costs me over $300. I think this is a ugly problem with C-HR. If I have known this, I would not buy it.
Learn how long your nose is and dont run over parking blocks and curbs. How do you think Ferrari's, Lambos, and Corvettes park? They have spatial awareness.
Not too high not too low, easy to drive around town for errands and for work, good gas millage, merging on the freeway is the only thing i don't like, but not a big deal, what you pay is what you get,my wife is happy, cruising on a chr is the one i like the most.
Get the basic one. All of the bells and whistles you can add later yourself for much cheaper, sensors included. Toyota might tack on an extra $2-4K on newer CHRs for sensors. At most you'd be paying $850 for quality private installation. Remember software and technology becomes outdated quickly. So break the bank convincing yourself you need the later models unless there are physical differences that you absolutely need or want.
The Toyota chr applications is crap and half the apps isn't even working. It is not supporting Twitter and one other app anymore... Shame on Toyota for canceling the Google license "because noone used it" reason...
@@jonathansaona2130 I don't use it, as said its only crap anyway and doesn't work as it should. Should be more car related apps or useful apps like other car brands managed to add.. Toyota is faar behind as they don't manage to keep your car updated unlike certain other brands. Deliver brand new cars with apps that's not supported/disabled/removed as soon as it's delivered from the factory isn't a good first impression.
i own a 2019 c-hr gle. it is the most utterly piece of crap. after 2 years of ownership and 40k miles it makes me wish i had bought a yugo! spacious: somewhat good mileage?? not in the least. my 1990 suzuki samurai gave 45/50 miles to the gallon. battery is out in less than 2 years, so were the tires which lasted about 38k miles. noises from low workmanship. it has them all. currently, in slow turns, the steering system cracks, rattles and moans constantly. and then there is the ever bubbling sound after it gets warmed up. what did the dealership service department say all and every time i took the car for inspection? they said that there was nothing wrong with the car. a yugo's the way to go. suspension. it bottoms up every time with the slightest depression on the road. the front absorbers (struts or rubber bands or whatever they use to deal with this) is so horrendous and the japanese mechanic at the dealership says there is nothing wrong with the suspension. a yugo is the way to go! i am telling you guys and gals, save yourselves the aggravation of a great looking piece of crap and buy yourselves a yugo!! the 80's and 90's yugo that is!
My 2018 CHR now needs a transmission at 60,000 miles plus I took it to all the required maintenance by the dealer. An now it’s costing me $6900 to repair . 🤬 my options don’t buy this crap car.
Great review. I drove this a couple of times in LA imo it has enough zip in the on ramp, great on everyday commute, decent mpg, good safety features, its Toyota so i expect its realiable.
I will be getting one tomorrow I don't need all the bells and whistles. It's reliable and looks different, unlike the Prius.
Where will u get it? R u in the U.S? The U.S. version speedometer is not digital.
@@demonslayer4951I have the 2018 premium and it is digital. Probably not with the standard.
Toyota CHR,for daily driver, for work and errands, wife is happy.that's it.nothing else.so if you want some more go get a 35k to 45k vehicle or shut up.
Can't speak for everyone else but that unique looks, reliability and good fuel economy outweighs the bad..

""This car feels like it can handle whatever you throw at it" - then proceeds to cross double yellow into oncoming lane off a gentle curve... LOL
Lol yeah that was pretty hardcore lol

Pienso comprar el 2018 este lunes. Gracias por la información
Yo reparo transmissiones y cobro de 7-10k.
The Bad…transmission failure usually after the 60,000 mile warranty

Honest and excellent review.
Thanks! We have many more. Check them out here: ruclips.net/p/PLvUh3ccWPL9fJsvuIIMe34N9tKtAFHF5Z

2WD can survive the snow. Snow tires and/or chains are cheaper than repairing problems that arise in AWD & 4WD from normal wear and tear.
Awd = overrated.
Buy a good set of snow tires & you're set.
@@danielfair4675 agreed Dan!
Hi there.. can I swap that infotainment system for a 2019 one? Will it fit?

Great review bro!
It’s unbelievable that the old school 1Gen Scion XB (Toyota BB) is more roomier and more trunk space plus same fuel economy as this CUV.
WHICH IS BETTER 2018 RAV4 LE OR THIS CHR
Great Video.
How is the blind spot? How ab the manual mode option?
What do the iM, 86, c-hr, and other settings do under “vehicle”
Yu forgot lack of sunroof, that detaste me looking at the design outside.
put the new camry 2.5 engine in there, i will buy one
Good review!

You can install bumper sensors for relatively cheap. The new C-HRs have bumper sensors, but Toyota is going to tack on $2,000 MSRP for them.
Your driving, the car doesn't hit them, you do. 😁

This is more of a you problem than the actual car. Learn to park lol
Why no hybrids in USA I don't think high twenty s is good on fuel
Bring back the manual transmission Toyota. You are circling the drain w/ this CVT BS. Its killing your reputation.
considering purchasing a CHR...….does anyone have one and what do you think?
Don't get it. I have one I like the look but it's too sluggish
The applications are either crap or not supported anymore. But thats Toyota in general...
