- We brought in a Blue Russian male last evening and our O’Mailey got really sad and then he became angry not agreeing with this new situation. Mia, our female Maine Coon does not care much.

@@randallstewart1224 I doubt it. You'd hear the other cat too. Do not underestimate the territorial nature of cats and their sense of smell. They can sense other males really well, and are notorious for marking their territory because of it.

We had a lilac point siamese that took exception to my new shoes.foolishly i left them on my bedroom floor.when i got uo the next morning he had pooped in one of them.that told me what he was saying to me which was this is my house i dont allow those shoes.
Ye-up...most potty accidents are actually cats trying to say something...after pandemic, my friend's cat had a couple of "accidents", because mommy was no longer home 24/7... understandable from the cat's point of view, and luckily, she has her twin sister to keep her company, so this stopped just as fast as it began...it's one of the reasons they always say get two cats, especially if your going to be away parts of the day...🤔

And, some cats just like being in a one cat household...nothing you can do about it...but, before bringing in a new cat you have to consider the ages, genders, personalities...lots of people think you can just drop the second cat in, and poof, everyone is going to get along...cats are like any other animal, including humans...they have feelings, different personalities, they can and do get jealous, etc...🤔

@@BerryBerry1465this. They are all different just like we are. Some come to love each other, others learn to co exist with each other, and some just hate each other to the point they start having behavior issues (going outside the litter box). No matter how well you try to introduce them some just don’t want to share. You just have to know your cat and accept them just as they are-the cat that was there first should have precedence and the second may need to be re-homed.

Unfortunately, the new cat was a Blue Russian. They have different personality. Actually we have 2 Maine Coon: a female (3yrs 7mths) and a male (3yrs 4 mths), same father. They get along but some times, the male is chasing her. He has this will to dominate since we brought him home, when he was 3 months old only.
Ok I’m scared now, I have a 6 month Maine Coon male, and just put a deposit down on his 1 month 1/2 sister and should be getting her in August. So I know we need to isolate her a little first to get her used to us and the house, then next introduce the cats to each other, did you literally rub the cats together for the scent thing? We are idiots because we have two dogs in the mix…lol. The cat and the dogs were tentative buddies within a week and are now best friends. We just feel he needs a feline to understand his method of play better.
@@jenniferlundquist9475 you have nothing to worry about they will all get on great.The male Maine coon will show her who’s boss by grabbing her by the neck . She should roll on her back to submit and they will be buddies for life.

I have a black smoke male that I bought in Russia and had shipped to Tennessee, he's almost 3 years old and weighs 29 pounds. I would never let him on my kitchen table or counters. I'm too much of a clean freak.
