Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a surprise visit to the Philippines on June 3, 2024. Zelensky met Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jnr at Malacanang Palace, where both leaders voiced their commitment to sovereignty and a global rules-based order. He thanked the Philippines for supporting Ukraine’s “territorial integrity and sovereignty” and Manila’s planned attendance at the coming Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland on June 15-16. Marcos Jnr said the Philippines stood ready to help through multilateral efforts and the United Nations. The meeting marked the second time Zelensky and Marcos Jnr held talks on the Ukraine-Russia war, and followed an unannounced appearance by the Ukrainian leader at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore.

This clip posted by the South China Morning Post reveals how deeply the Post is integrated into the Pentagon and the U.S. State Department. Just before visiting the Philippines, Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused China of being "an instrument of Russia" for China's refusal to attend the so-called peace conference in Switzerland because Russia, one of the parties to the conflict, was not invited to attend. Saudi Arabia has also refused to attend the conference in Switzerland. The Post is not revealing the truth of the matter, that Zelenskyy is aiming to drive a wedge between Asian countries and China by visiting the Philippines, the weak link in ASEAN in terms of its confrontation -- together with the United States -- with China over the South China Sea. The main purpose of the so-called peace conference in Switzerland is to provide support for Zelenskyy as the so-called President of Ukraine. Zelenskyy's legitimacy as the president of Ukraine expired on May 20, 2024. Why? Because the Emergencies Act in Ukraine allows the President to suspend parliamentary elections but he is not allowed to suspend presidential elections under the same Act, which is what Zelenskyy has done in order to cling to power at all costs in the face of a disastrous loss to Russia on the battlefield. Ukraine is now a totalitarian dictatorship and an outpost of NATO. The South China Morning Post is an outpost of NATO also.
