    9 dash line was a grave miscalculation by the PRC. They never anticipated the Philippines MDA with the US could be triggered. Now more build up of American forces in addition to what’s already in Korea and Japan. Good job PRC for excluding that in your analysis. The best part, PRC cannot back down from their 9DL anymore and look weaker. This will give more and more excuses for the EU and US to reinforce and buildup Manila more under the banner of UNCLOS and FONOP on top of the MDA.

      The Philippines and Japanese government agreed to start negotiations for a defense pact called the Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA), aiming to facilitate the presence of visiting forces and conduct joint military training activities. If formally signed, it would be Japan’s first RAA with a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Japan’s third overall.

    The US had always had the Defense Pact with the Philippines since the 1950s. This EDCA now actually enhances this. So since the 1950s it always had been an attack on the Philippines has always been like an attack on the US, and any war with the US always got the Philippines involved (Korean, Vietnam Wars, Involvement in the 1990 Iraqi War).

    For Indonesia, it's not entirely Pro-US as the Philippines but it still remains in much more favorable towards US in terms of Military Cooperation. It is likely that the Philippines will be supporting Indonesia position to lead ASEAN Political-Security, especially in terms of Territorial Integrity and Maritime Safety of the Waters of it's Members, indirectly supporting the Philippines stance with the ASEAN Framework. Bilaterally, Philippines and Indonesia will consolidate a Maritime Partnership on Governance and Management of the Seas, under the UNCLOS, particularly with given focus on The Archipelagic Doctrine, that is initiated and pushed to be ratified by the Philippines, with support from fellow Archipelagic States like Indonesia, Japan and New Zealand.
    With these Philippine-Indonesia Security Partnership will come several trilaterals and quadrilateral groups will be created both within ASEAN and with it's Outside Partners.
    First, Japan-Philippines-Indonesia, securing the North-South Maritime Trade Routes that is mostly falls under BIMP-EAGA Development Agenda, which is a potential Trade Alternative when a South China Sea Routes are Disrupted and closed due to possible conflict or war.
    There's Philippines-Indonesia-Australia, which will be augmented from the Trilateral between Japan-Philippines-Australia. And expanded to Quadrilateral Groupings with Indonesia added to it, securing the North-South/East-West Trade Routes from Indian Ocean to the Philippine Sea thru Indonesian-Philippine Seas in between.
    But beforehand, Indonesia first needed to have Trilaterals with Australia-Japan.
    Other Trilaterals/Quadrilaterals is between:
    -Philippines-Indonesia-India
    -Philippines-Indonesia-Vietnam/Thailand
    -Philippines-Indonesia-Vietnam-Thailand
    -JAPHUS-Indonesia
    -Philippines-Indonesia-USA
    -Philippines-Indonesia-East Timor
    -Philippines-Indonesia-Papua New Guinea
    -Philippines-Indonesia-South Korea
    -Philippines-Indonesia-New Zealand

      Correct. There needs to be a stronger, coordinated, and constant clarification of this point by our government since people both Filipino, and foreign are confused by this, unfortunately. We're in this for our maritime legal entitlements, not to annex a whole sea unlike China.

    • @Raygun8888
      @Raygun8888 2 месяца назад

      You're right. The entire South China Sea is like the Philippine Sea that is located in east of Philippines and other countries which stretched up to Guam. Philippine Sea is not entirely owned or have rights to Philippines but only the EEZ, it is only named after Philippines. Same with South China Sea it is only named after them but the greedy chinese govt owning entire of it with the baseless 9/10 dash lines

    • @lupiarch9784
      @lupiarch9784 2 месяца назад

      @@Raygun8888 Yup. The only reason for renaming South China Sea (portions of it) to West Philippine Sea is because Communist China thinks that just because its named South China Sea is that they own everything thats in there. Aside from UNCLOS which they signed the mere distance for the South China Sea to mainland China makes their claims more ridiculous. Their only point for their expansionism is because they are strong economically and militarily (Not for long though).

    The reason the ASEAN nations (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, laos, Cambodia, Brunei) are dumbfounded in the issue of the West Philippine sea is because they are sleeping with China. Most of their infrastructures are built under the Chinese belt n Road initiatives. These countries has debt loan from China while the Philippines chooses Japan and tge U.S.
    The United States, Japan, South Korea and Australia are trying to prove that the United States in her allies can do better compare to china. They are investing heavily in the Philippine hoping the ASEAN will follow suit.
    The United States and her Allies are leaving China. Japan, South korea, united states will bail out their investments from China.The ASEAN should realized that China's economy is hanging in the rope without the U.S., Japan, South Korea.

      The US, South Korea, Japan, and Australia can't and won't do better than China economically for the Southeast Asian region, the market size is not even comparable. The US is also on the other side of the globe. China has been the biggest trading partner for SEA for a long time, it's not just about them building infrastructure. Even for the Philippines, China is still their no.1 trading partner, even more so if you include Hong Kong (they separate China with HK in their reports). China + HK alone comprises around 25% of their trade.

    I swear i would have accepted the chinese argument that it is a civil war if only their country was not a bully to other countries like in vietnam or the Philippines. Unfortunately, it is not the case, CHINA IS gonna fall for its greed, and they are not the only one who have taken an interest in the sea that they are trying to claim and expand. We Filipino are not trying to expand but to survive and develop and play fair on the international orders of things, but china dont want to respect our side. If they can't even do that, how do you think people are not gonna expect they'll do the same to other countries in the southeast. In short, if taiwan falls to china, it is not the end. Sooner or later, china will expand to the rest of the southeast Asia, and it will be hard to defend or regain such taken territories if that's the case. So this matter is not only taiwan and china but it invloves most of Southeast Asia, Australia, the USA, Japan, India, South Korea and most of all the Philippines, my country. And i tell you we will fight if there is no choice, no matter what it will cost. At least, that is my opinion of this matter
