The guy who did the Valde art died a few months ago and I’m still upset we won’t get more from him. He did the And I Return to Nothingness cover for Lorna and the Mirror Reaper cover for Bell Witch too.

The artist they used artwork from for Välde passed away last year, Mariusz Lewandowski. His artstyle was in the same lane as Beksinski. I reckon this cover art may be part tribute to him, as well as fitting the bands visual style of course.

There was a lot of talk of Facebook about this cover being AI, but now I think it's all because of sharpness. If the final cover was as sharp as at 3:05 noone would say it's AI generated. AI can't produce anything sharp and the final cover is very soft... just AI like.

AI-generated images is a great way for someone who hasn’t got the skills themselves to convey to the artist what they’re after. Simple drawings, examples from movies or existing artwork has been the standard literally forever, AI is just another tool.
