I just got this monitor but have 0 idea how i should setup, noticed the brightness was kinda off and couldnt find any help until this video, very detailed explanation of each function, great videos!
I've had this monitor for about 2 weeks now. The monitor was announced as Gamescom in 2024 so it was kind of a weird release window, which is why I think it gets overlooked. I was looking for an OLED for a long time and this monitor was the first that checked all of the boxes that I've wanted. I have really enjoyed working on it so far. I was concerned, because I work a lot with text, but it doesn't bother me at all. I was also concerned about brightness and it has not been an issue at all. This video confirms what I thought already, but it is as bright or similar brightness from the LCD that I changed from. I also use the monitor for gaming and it has simply been unbelievable. I went with a 1440p resolution, because the pixel density is really good at this screen size and games are becoming increasingly more demanding which means games in the future won't run as well at 4k. Obviously GPUs are getting faster as well, however 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming in my opinion. Thanks for the review!
I was honestly surprised to hear about the brightness especially since it’s a QD OLED I might have to really look into it because I’ve been wanting one brighter than the one I have
@@schmans3 exactly! This monitor check all the boxes I want as well, first time ever. Totally agree with you and thanks for the further informations about texts and brightness. May I ask you if the blacks are really blacks like WOLED in real life? I mean... I know that if there is a strong external light the blacks are more like purple in all QD OLEDs, but in a controlled situation but not completely dark, the blacks are true black? And how is the "semi-gloss" treatment?
@@Leonardinho097 When the lights are off the blacks are true black like a WOLED, and the contrast ratio is the same as WOLED. I looks amazing! I work in a room with a large window and an overhead light and I can kind of notice that blacks have the purple tint, however that is only if you are paying close attention. I am usually working during the day with the window and lights on and it hasn't bothered me at all. It still looks incredible even with all of the light in the room. When I game I close the window and everything appears super clear and black, gaming with all the lights on as well is totally fine. I think the coating is just the same glossy finish as every other QD-OLED besides the Samsung models, which have a matte finish. It looks like I am looking at a big OLED phone screen, that's how I would describe it. So it does pick up reflections, but as long as it is not a blaring light shining directly and right next to the screen you don't even notice it when you are working, because you are focused on what is on the screen. It looks like a normal TV screen is another way to describe it.
just to clarify: hardware unboxed found the overall brightness to be 275 nits and another reviewer too i think that the place u set the brightness monitor was at the place of 25% brightness which came around 375 nits for others aswell.

How does this compare to the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP besides one being 360hz and the other 480hz what other key differences are there between the there??
@@ownageboxdifferent/new settings, different brightness, and some minor improvements overall. It's always with DSC enabled these days. Just so you know. That's why we can do 480hz 1440p on a dp 1.4. if you want native without DSC, IIRC it was around that 240hz at 1440p that it can deliver. However you shouldn't care about DSC at all. You aren't at a disadvantage in any type of way. The input delay is the same with or without ( to human eyes, not in terms of numbers but the number difference is also so low that we are talking about way below 1ms difference ) also visually you won't notice any difference because even for the top professionals it is near impossible to spot any visual difference with DSC on or off. I'm not saying that no one can spot a difference between DSC being on / off but for us all normal people we literally won't see any difference. So whether it uses DSC or not it's irrelevant, DSC is useful. Obviously there can be slightly increased alt tab times but that doesn't affect the performance in any way
@@mdzavaid118 I bought the UCDM because of it's internal KVM switch (because I use both a Mac and a PC on it, both daily) and honestly, I'm a little disappointed as to how it works. I was hoping a simple keystroke would be enough to switch, but the configuration is clunky, and requires pressing one button on the monitor to get into input selection menu, then moving the nipple to the other device and pressing it in. It's unnecessary. All they had to do is make an option where the same button just switches to the next device. It's not a big deal, I'm hoping they'll fix it with a firmware sometime in the future. The other issue I noticed is VRR flicker on low framerates in dark scenes, but that almost never happens. Image quality though, is flawless. 32" is perfect size for 4K so pixels aren't visible (I got spoiled by Apple retina MBP), HDR content is so good I have no idea how will the technology improve from this point on. I do need two monitors for my work, both connected to two systems, so if it wasn't this expensive, I'd buy two without hesitation.
I purchased this monitor last week and love it. It also has a 3yr warranty, that covers burn in. I wish their software actually worked, it has more configurable options than what the controls on the monitor has.
@@JaeeezZ No eye strain, but its in sRGB mode and I'm in a dark room. I read QD-OLED eye strain could be due to the default color mode being overly saturated.
