The 2014 MT I have had for 7 years now, the 2022 Spyder for a little over a year and the ‘23 GT just came in 2 months ago. They are all a little different are all great.
@@MiamiMiles great question. I cannot give you a full answer at this point yet. I believe that the R8 break in is 750 miles and I do not have that many miles on my car yet. Ask me again in about three weeks or so. That being said, I can tell you already that the R8 GT is not on the same level as the STO. Frankly, it’s not even close. Why, you ask? It is simple: the STO has much better steering, shorter wheelbase, better induction and much better exhaust sound plus it has rear wheel steering. All of those important items to add up very quickly. I paid 150 grand more for my STO than paid for the R8GT. I am completely fine with that delta. The much more important question for me, honestly, is whether or not I made the right decision of not buying a nicely specced Huracan Technic vs. the R8 GT. Apples to apples, all in, the TÉCNICA would’ve run me about $75,000 more than the R8 GT.. At the time, I decided that that was too much of a gap. At this point, after having driven the R8 a couple of times, I am not so sure that I made the right decision. if I were to keep the R8 GT long-term, I would, for sure, at the very least, lower the car, and put a nice Capristo exhaust on it. Again, don’t get me wrong, the R8 GT a very good car, I am just not sure that it is a great car. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am, obviously, extremely spoiled.
@@timmietz brother… would love to get a peek at your garage haha. Every time I see your comments I’m blown away. I think the capristo exhaust would transform the car. In Pete’s it made it one of the few cars I craved to drive multiple times in a day. Cars I’ve driven that I loved and haven’t owned include the 812, that Capristo R8, scud, 458 and STO. Técnica is cool but not a must have for me.
Great first supercar. I swapped one for a 458 which feels better in every way, but R8 gave way more confidence at high speed corners coz it never lost traction. Biggest downside is that it looks and feels a bit too Audi (externally and internally). But the engine is pure lambo.
I love the R8, not the performance but the V10 plus. I aspire to get the R8 V10 plus and bolt on an MTM supercharger to make 802HP.
