    In today’s insightful video, I dive deep into my personal experience with the much-anticipated 992 GT3 RS and share why I've decided against adding it to my collection - a decision I believe many of you might also want to consider. My recent trip to Chicago and a thrilling drive with Uncle Pete in the new RS gave me a lot to think about. Despite its aggressive aesthetics and the undeniable Porsche allure, the 992 GT3 RS presented a couple of significant drawbacks that ultimately swayed my decision.
    Firstly, let’s talk about the drive. The 992 GT3 RS feels like a beast waiting to be unleashed, but therein lies the catch - it demands to be pushed to its limits to truly shine. It's a car that transforms into a superhero on the track, offering unparalleled agility, stability, and confidence at high speeds. However, its day-to-day driveability leaves much to be desired, especially when not operating at those breakneck speeds.
    Secondly, and perhaps more critically, is the issue of cost. With market premiums skyrocketing to an eye-watering $125-$150K over the sticker price, the question of value inevitably comes into play. Can the exhilarating performance and the prestige of owning such a machine justify the hefty price tag, especially when it can't be fully enjoyed without pushing it to the edge?
    Join me as I break down these concerns and explore why, at the current going rates of $400-$450K, there might just be more enticing and versatile garage configurations out there that can offer a broader range of driving pleasures and experiences.
    If you’re on the fence about the 992 GT3 RS or considering where to best allocate your automotive investment, this video could offer some valuable perspective. Remember to LIKE, SHARE your thoughts in the COMMENTS below, and SUBSCRIBE for more honest car reviews and automotive insights!

    Nobody has a crystal ball, but I’m in the camp of people that thinks hybridization is right around the corner with the 992.2, and I think we’re so used to GT cars getting so much better every year, but this may be the last gen manual GT3 and the last non hybrid GT3 RS, and if so, it’ll keep that premium price for all time.
    That said, I think you’re spot on that this and other modern cars are only fun at illegal speeds.

    • @JCviggen1
      @JCviggen1 6 месяцев назад

      I'm going to predict that when we get a hybrid GT3 RS it will murder the ones that came before it and be just as wanted. The GT3 range has been stuck at the same level of power for 10 years basically, which makes the 3RS feel underpowered for its ridiculously capable chassis and aero. Nobody slagged the LaFerrari for being a hybrid... if they can keep the weight down (they will) the added torque and power from a cutting edge hybrid system mated to a naturally aspirated engine will be just dandy.

    • @TheGreekCarGeek
      @TheGreekCarGeek 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@JCviggen1 totally agree that Porsche will make a desirable hybrid in whatever trim, especially GT cars. The 918 Spyder is proof of that, and that was 10 year old tech. They will undoubtedly keep the weight to a minimum with tech from Rimac making use of that hefty investment.
      What I lament is that due to complexity, the manual transmission will get axed and the manual GT3 (and GTS) will be gone, and while hybrid is great for numbers, things like torque fill and such instant speed make cars (like the SF90 for example) all but too quick to get up to illegal speeds and only enjoyable at 10 tenths, and therefore boring on the road at normal speeds. “It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow” - I guess we’ll see 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @JCviggen1
      @JCviggen1 6 месяцев назад

      @TheGreekCarGeek True true, just the RS is the latest toy to show off with and there's a lot of people who don't mind lighting 100+ grand on fire for that purpose apparently. Lots of these RS are being bought by people who don't track it, boggles the mind as it's a useless road car without a frunk. Second owners will probably use it as intended after the first wave buyers move onto something else

    • @plife911
      @plife911 6 месяцев назад

      This is very important for the RS im not sure about the regular gt3 tho. It might get the S/T drivetrain minus the flywheel. The RS prices have some of the NA fomo built in right now but if the 992.2 remains NA (i doubt it) the prices will come down like 50-100k. And then ill buy one 😂

    • @TheGreekCarGeek
      @TheGreekCarGeek 6 месяцев назад

      @@JCviggen1 I think that’s the bigger crime, that the allocation process is absolutely broken; it’s more about who you know or more so how much $$ you have spent/are willing to spend, and actual enthusiasts get left in the cold while those who just want the flavor of the month to show off on their social media or at cars and coffee get all the special cars.

    This is very logical and it’s a shame the 992 3RS has become this cultural phenomenon with prices to show for it. They’re purpose built track cars, no getting around that. Anyone expecting to get into the NA race car with insane downforce, and have enough fun on the street is dumb.

    you realize that there are people out there who legitimately go to the track multiple times per month and CAN get close to the limit of a 992 GT3RS, right? that's really who this car is for... while YOU might not be able to get close to the limit, there are many people out there who can. Sure a 992 GT3 is going to get you 90% of the way there, and sure a $75,000 Manthey racing kit will take you another 5%... it's essentially an NA Senna, and if they don't make a lot more of them they will retain their value a bit better than you're expecting.

    • @MiamiMiles
      @MiamiMiles  6 месяцев назад +1

      They will depreciate…. Wish there was a line on it lol. I don’t disagree about a small % of owners tracking multiple times a month. Those will lose their markups even faster. I agree the car is AMAZING. I just don’t think the over + the limited use cases on a road make the car a fit for me

    • @johnshuarwamirama

      @@MiamiMiles If were being honest about the owners of these cars though: most of them will be owned by old schmucks to only drive them to/from cars and coffee on the weekend.
      I get it and also get the comparison to 765LT which is a spaceship when you put it side-by-side with a GT3RS... it's really just a road legal cup car without the insane maintenance schedule, which in my eyes makes it's own segment.
      I do agree that they won't be 500k in a couple years from now, but I'm not sure they'll fall far below 400k.
      I also agree that I'd rather have a 992 GT3 and $250k in my pocket.

    Here is the revised version of your text:
    "I totally disagree with you. I have been a loyal customer of Porsche and have owned several GT3s. My 2021 model is amazing, and I can't wait for my 2024 PTS RS to arrive. I'm local like you (305), but unfortunately, Miami is a place where loyalty seems to be lacking. If you are looking for outstanding customer service, consider doing all your car business on the west coast (Naples)...
    I know for sure that if you were able to get the RS for the sticker price, you would already be driving it. The 997.2 is fun, but there's no comparison, and you know it. People usually criticize what they can't have instead of giving credit where it's due.
    Find yourself a good Porsche dealer (like Porsche Naples), and you will see the difference.
    I enjoyed the video; it was fun."

    • @MiamiMiles
      @MiamiMiles  6 месяцев назад +1

      Lot's of good points here. I can have it.... just won't at these markups. Agree on your point about the dealer as well. All Miami dealers are terrible. Regarding the GT3RS, INCREDIBLE car. That is not debatable. At sticker or even $50K over, it might be one of the best bargains on the market. At $150K over, the fact that the car is at best a 3rd car in a garage, and the fact that the money will evaporate turns me off. When the market cools, I will probably add one to the garage. In the meantime, I'll enjoy watching guys like you drive your beautiful cars on the road. Thanks for the comment.

    Hahaha, "I am not going to drive anywhere near its capabilities Schumacher" ??? be careful saying that, I am an advanced race track instructor with one of Australia's top drivers. Matty Campbell came through my boss quite a few years ago.
    The 992 GT3RS is incredible, ask yourself this, why does storage matter? I ride my Motorbike and don't complain. A purists doesn't care, you are essentially getting a cup car for the road with plates and it is pretty badass. Yes it is indulgent, but it sure as hell beats 765 IMO and many other cars, remember it is NA with a lot less power than others and that is what makes it a special car, HP is fine, but the refinement of the Porsche is where someone like me can appreciate over other cars. I usually hate most cars except race cars, but this 992 has me all excited for the first time in a very long while.
    I can't stand the Mclaren brand of cars, sure some are quick, but the whole flat plane crank era turned me right off.

    If a 992 GT2RS comes out the GT3's will fall dramatically. No one would want to spend $450K on the non-halo 911. And then you have to think, MSRP of the GT2RS will be what, 300-350K? Judging by the aftermarket prices of the GT3RS does that mean the GT2RS is going to jump to $600-700K? At that point just increase the rent on all of your slums and get a 918 for $300K more.

U are also missing the point of the 992rs , it’s not meant for the road it’s meant to drive to the track , get smacked on track all day , then drive back home. For any other reason it is pointless. Keep in mind everyone who owns the rs has a number of other cars , so something more fun for canyon run or Sunday drive is already in the garage.
