What if one cannot get the whole gland into one image on a longitudinal axis and there is no way of getting a panoramic view ... How does one get the length as is required to do proper measurement?
You can try an overlapping method. Start at the superior pole and take a measurement. Then slide the probe to focus on the middle portion of the thyroid and take a measurement. Finally take the measurement at the inferior pole. Add these 3 measurements but subtract the overlapping values so you don't add them multiple times and get a bigger false value.
