    How good was Davor Suker actually? #GOAT
    New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time and then give them a score so a ranking of the best players can be created. In this episode we take on Davor Suker who played for Real Madrid and Arsenal for most of his career, not only one of the greatest playmakers of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Davor Suker ranks and just how good he actually was.

    It's Zagreb riots, not Belgrade riots, and a wrong Dinamo, that's Dynamo Kyev's crest. Also, he is not actually that despised because of Ustashi tendencies (it was a long time ago, in the 90s, the era of war, anarchy, and widespread casual nationalism, when that wasn't really a big deal in Croatia) but primarily because of being stupid, lazy, selfish, arrogant, gambling-addict, crime-overlooking president of the Croatian FA. And he is certainly not a millionaire anymore, the word on the street is that his love for gambling got him into some financial trouble

      It might seem strange, but us, 90-s kids from India who watched the 1998 WC as the first World Cup, still remember Suker. He became our hero overnight as till then the only teams we knew and support about was Brazil and Argentina. Unfortunately as we didn't have the kind of streaming services we have now, I personally couldn't follow his career after the WC :( Still remember the Semifinal when France managed to beat Croatia at last......I think he played in the next WC also, and if I remember correctly he didn't play much in that WC.

    i think he scored the best goal ever, by anyone. it was a dying seconds equalizer in the qualifiers for the euro 2000 against ireland in zagreb. a long ball was in the air for half the pitch length and when he touched it the ball was dead and he could do whatever he wanted with it. i've seen many goals that look more spectacular but i don't think many players could replicate what he did in that moment even if they practiced and he just did it, in stoppage time.

    • @necuspam
      @necuspam Год назад

      totally agree, those who played soccer know that such control is nearly impossible, and he did it so easily. However he replicated this several times, maybe not with such long ball, but still showing it was not just a coincidence

It doesn't make him good. The idiot yugoslav government forgot that publishing an honest census would blow their lie out of the water. 1931 Yugoslav Census # of Croatians: 6,085,482. 1948 Yugoslav Census # of Croatians: 5,199,700. (884,712 less). 1931 Yugoslav Census # of Serbs: 6,785,499. 1948 Census # of Serbs: 7,783,046. (almost 1 million more).

    Wow you delivered on my request!! Great video! I think you summed up his career quite well!! He has an incredible show of amazing goals that he's scored in his career. And he put a lot of players to shame with his flair at times. I think his flair could have been an 8 out of 10, but everything else is spot on! Thanks so much!!!

    The Ustashi(meant: to ones who stood up) were a terrorist group not nazi group. That are two different things. Both are horrific and should never have existed. The Nazis use to kill Croats in Austria. On the other side mussolini gave the Ustashi protection against the serbs and a headquarters in Milan to fight the centuries of oppression and assimilation. Through mussolini they got in contact with the Nazis and stopped the killing of Croats in Austria by serving as a dead squad for the Nazis. Promising the Croatian people freedom but killing innocent lives even Croats who didn't stand with there mindset. The biggest lesson is to love each other and to respect each other. Never again

I hate the Nazis but how do you call a nation that tries to forcefully assimilate the indigenous people of a land and erase their history? Burn Bogomils churches down to forcefully convert them to their faith. Build their churches on indigenous holy sites like ancient Illyrian graves or caves that contain legends of the past?

    • @theodorekell
      @theodorekell Год назад

      @@apcreative235 Germans gave it a name - the official regime of cleansing. But now it applies to anything of similar act. If you think, ISIS is not nut-si. They are united not by ethnic ideology but a certain strain of Islam.
      "how do you call a nation?" US? Not that. This is simple capitalist genocide. See, Americans were of different ethnic backgrounds.
      Then again, western ideology is that they bring the right culture and traditions. Even mongols were less destructive. They often took local religions and traditions.
