How good was Hugo Sanchez actually? #GOAT
New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time and then give them a score so a ranking of the best players can be created. In this episode we take on Hugo Sanchez who played for Real Madrid and Atletico for most of his career, not only one of the greatest strikers of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Hugo Sanchez ranks and just how good he actually was.

Mexico has had great players in almost every position, the fact that the main national team hasn't won a world cup comes down to corruption in the National Federation. The talent is there, hence the U-17 team has already won two world cups (and a runner up, only losing to the Nigerian cheats that we all know are actually a lot older than 17, so in my book they are actually 3 world cups). If it wasn't for the national federation, the main team would at least have one world title already.

It’s crazy that Hugo doesn’t get the credit he deserves, but guys are putting up amazing numbers nowadays. But in Mexico he’s a very divisive figure as well because he publicly feuded with Ricardo Lavolpe.

Hey thanks for the video you did an amazing job, the only thing that I didn't notice, was if you mentioned his acrobatic overhead kicks he did alot, which would increase his flair. And I appreciate how you clarified his positioning, agility, reaction which allows him to score even though he was small would like stretch himself beat bigger opponents. I Only hate that fifa does not have a prime icon version because those stats just mentioned and others are no where near the level they should be, still underrated by fifa so frustrating.

Underrated just like Julio César Chávez in boxing (he exposed his title more than many rated “better than him”). His mobility and flair was out of this world. He played una very hostile environment, he was under too much pressure from journalist in Spain and Mexico and still performed. He was a master shorting over and sometimes next to barriers. Have you seen the images? The ball curved horizontally and vertically with power, speed and incredible location. If not, ask Andoni Zubizarreta. He made the goalies just stand there and watch how the ball travelled and landed in one of the corners. For me, the partnership he made with Emilio Butragueño and Bernd Schuster was a killer combination. Those passes were not easy to hit so don’t imply he only pushed the ball to the goal, because he didn’t. He finished the play with skill in a time and place he created and in angles and situations that you rarely see.

We were about to play football in PE and he was telling us about playing simple, I forget the whole thing now, but he told us about a guy (I think it was this guy) who played a match for Real Madrid (I think) and he scored (1 or 2 don't remember) and he got man of the match and then he said something which just blew my mind and I did NOT believe it "After the match when they counted how many touches he'd had, he only had two touches of the ball all game" and I just thought....That's bullshit lol How can you get man of the match from 2 touches?

Honestly Mexican players deserve a lot more credit, yes we do have a handful of players in Europe now but the reality is some of them are underrated or second guessed once they arrived in Europe. Like lozano in his first season in Napoli was decent but he didn’t get much play time. Now every time he’s on the pitch it’s a different game. Wolves without Jimenez is complete different as we saw when he got Injuried for a whole season,Man United was insane with chicharito at the front,Herrera at Porto and atlético can be a master at playing the ball, corona for Porto was played on the league last season, alverez at Ajax has helps them in the back ans even in one of his first games scored to help them qualify for the UCL.
Mexican players need more Recognition and justice. (If only we can be good In a World Cup)
