I love your video!but I got a sewing machine for Christmas and I am not completely sure how to use it.my gramma tried showing me how but she doesn't explain it that good.and we don't have the fabric for the tail.:-(

It depends on your height and what fabric you get, but mine was relatively cheap - especially when compared to the ones you can buy - mine was very cheap! I got about 2 to 2 1/2 yards. Hope that helps!

Juustomimmi 100% I am almost 24 and I have searched for around 10 fabrics to make tails with.Personally I think it get's awkward when you over-do it. When you keep talking about your underwater-friends, act weird around water, start singing in the middle of class or keep asking people; 'What's that at the end of your legs? feet? Never heard of them..' (There are peope like that..really..) Apart from that awkward-side of mermaids, I think the part where you look awesome with a tail is never-ever even to be considered awkward. And if you're at school/education/work and you would want to secretly act like a mermaid (without the 'my best friend the dolphin'-stories) you just buy/make an awesome mermaid-charm with a few shells and you wear (pretty) flowy blue skirts/dresses. Or green...doesn't matter, as long as you look pretty. As I said, I'm almost 24 now and I wear shell-shaped rings with a long blue dress and a shell-shaped purse. As long as you enjoy yourself and look awesome, there's nóthing awkward ^_^
Use little wires in the tail so you can swim better and faster, but at the tip don't put any so it looks more realistic :) And put foam where you feet is for comfort (a thin layer though) :) sorry if you don't get it, I will explain better of you reply
