John Sally would later play with the Bulls and was cool with Jordan and Pippen. Dennis didn't talk to any one really, he was just shy and introverted off the court.

I remember Steve Kerr saying on NBATV that Rodman probably could've averaged 20 points a game with ease, but he chose not to, and was in fact prouder when he had zero points. However odd a personality he might have, that's the sort of single-mindedness that only the true greats ever have. What a champ!
Dennis is the epitome of hard work , and second ... to show you that if you live in chaos and channel it, surrounding your self and looking at a goal and are die hard to get it.... you can even though everything around you is chaotic... Dennis loved Michael so much too.... such respect for his leadership they didn't even have to talk. They just understood how to act and perform.
I still think that (pound for pound), "The Worm" was the greatest defensive player of all time. Rodman was around 6'-7" and led the league in total rebounding 4x and best average in rebounding 7x. Not to also mention that he had a couple seasons of averaging 18+ boards per game. His on and off the court antics didn't show it, but the dude had one the greatest basketball IQ's ever known.

I think him being apart of that Bad Boy Piston Era that gave Jordan and Pippen a very hard time early in their pursue to be champions is a good reasoning. Those feelings don't go away on both ends. And if anyone knows Dennis played a huge portion in that Jordan Rules dynasty. So him saying they never talked doesn't surprise me at all.
Rodman is the greatest and under appreciated basketball player. He understands the game greater than an other player knowing that makes him a legendary of the game.
I remember seeing an interview where Bill Laimbeer was once asked who was the smartest person he ever played with and without hesitating he immediately replied, "Dennis Rodman"
He was an outstanding rebounder before the Bulls. When the Pistons broke apart and they got rid of Rodman is when his attitude changed. Check is technicals before and after. He had virtually none before and he didn't dye his hair all crazy colors yet. After he found his place on the Bulls the technicals mostly cut down. He played great defensive basketball against the best. He was the best rebounder of his time and the best offensive rebounder of all time. He knew how to read where the ball was going to bounce of the rim and go so he would be there boxing out. If he didn't get the board he would pop it out of the guys hands who did. People don't realize he scored about 7 points a game taking 1 or 2 shots because of all the fouls he took down low and in the penalty your going to the line. He averaged over 10 assists 4 to 5 steals and 20 boards a game. He had nights where he had 30 something rebounds with 28 of them being offensive.
Raymond Armatino he never averaged more than 3.5 assist a game, never more than a single steal, really only got to the line twice a game and only about 1/3 of his rebounds came from offensive rebounds.........
I was in elementary school when the Bulls were unstoppable. I couldnt get enough of them. Loved Jordan (who didnt/doesn't) and I really liked Rodman for his play and his uniqueness (my parents not so much lol). But I do remember wondering if they ever talked much or were buddies. These are the types of interviews I love to see. Graham was asking Rodman questions that give us insight into how a player/person came up and succeeded. Nothing about this portion of the interview made Rodman antsy or short with his responses. It was all about showing respect. I'll definitely check out more of his interviews.

Brian Williams I think a lot of people just know Rodman was like the greatest rebounder of all time, but they don’t stop to think WHY that is. Most people probably just chalk it up to great instincts and natural ability. You don’t think he spent hours and hours and hours in a room by himself studying tape for years, studying his teammates playing styles. That’s dedication right there.

Dennis is a lot smarter then people give him credit for. He had 3 flamboyant great years in Chicago but it was the previous years in Detroit that set him up to succeed in Chicago. He's one of the greatest athletes you'll ever see.
Rodman was the true defender. I can't think of any current player who wants to be known for their rebounding and defence. This is why defence is lacking in today's NBA and the game has gone soft.

Of all the Chicago Bulls games I've watched when I was a kid growing up (mostly from '94 - '98 Bulls), I can only ever remember Dennis Rodman shooting (and scoring) ONCE. And that was when he shot a 3-pointer during one of their games! That will forever be etched in my memory until the day I die! lol!

I remember Steve Kerr saying on NBATV that Rodman probably could've averaged 20 points a game with ease, but he chose not to, and was in fact prouder when he had zero points. However odd a personality he might have, that's the sort of single-mindedness that only the true greats ever have. What a champ!
Dennis is the epitome of hard work , and second ... to show you that if you live in chaos and channel it, surrounding your self and looking at a goal and are die hard to get it.... you can even though everything around you is chaotic... Dennis loved Michael so much too.... such respect for his leadership they didn't even have to talk. They just understood how to act and perform.
I still think that (pound for pound), "The Worm" was the greatest defensive player of all time. Rodman was around 6'-7" and led the league in total rebounding 4x and best average in rebounding 7x. Not to also mention that he had a couple seasons of averaging 18+ boards per game. His on and off the court antics didn't show it, but the dude had one the greatest basketball IQ's ever known.

Easy to judge if you didnt know him, but hard not to like once you realize he’s honest and a hard worker. Even though he admits he’s a loner, I bet he’s just being honest & doesnt want to be. Sometimes hard to have conversations and relate to others, when you didnt have a normal upbringing.

People think his game came easy, its some real genius to rebound the way he did at his size, think about it he studied tape to master rebounding ???? .. Rodman is the greatest and under appreciated basketball player. He understands the game greater than an other player knowing that makes him a legendary of the game.
I remember seeing an interview where Bill Laimbeer was once asked who was the smartest person he ever played with and without hesitating he immediately replied, "Dennis Rodman"
He was an outstanding rebounder before the Bulls. When the Pistons broke apart and they got rid of Rodman is when his attitude changed. Check is technicals before and after. He had virtually none before and he didn't dye his hair all crazy colors yet. After he found his place on the Bulls the technicals mostly cut down. He played great defensive basketball against the best. He was the best rebounder of his time and the best offensive rebounder of all time. He knew how to read where the ball was going to bounce of the rim and go so he would be there boxing out. If he didn't get the board he would pop it out of the guys hands who did. People don't realize he scored about 7 points a game taking 1 or 2 shots because of all the fouls he took down low and in the penalty your going to the line. He averaged over 10 assists 4 to 5 steals and 20 boards a game. He had nights where he had 30 something rebounds with 28 of them being offensive.

Loved Jordan (who didnt/doesn't) and I really liked Rodman for his play and his uniqueness (my parents not so much lol). But I do remember wondering if they ever talked much or were buddies. Nothing about this portion of the interview made Rodman antsy or short with his responses. It was all about showing respect. I'll definitely check out more of his interviews.

Im 40 and this is my fav team all time. Jordan (best ever), Kukoc best EU player allong with the Petro and maybe best assist ever, Pippen (best sidekick ever), Rodman (best rebounder ever). What a colorfull and charismatic team they were. I miss NBA from 90s.

Brian Williams I think a lot of people just know Rodman was like the greatest rebounder of all time, but they don’t stop to think WHY that is. Most people probably just chalk it up to great instincts and natural ability. You don’t think he spent hours and hours and hours in a room by himself studying tape for years, studying his teammates playing styles. That’s dedication right there.

Rodman was the true defender. I can't think of any current player who wants to be known for their rebounding and defence. This is why defence is lacking in today's NBA and the game has gone soft.

Of all the Chicago Bulls games I've watched when I was a kid growing up (mostly from '94 - '98 Bulls), I can only ever remember Dennis Rodman shooting (and scoring) ONCE. And that was when he shot a 3-pointer during one of their games! That will forever be etched in my memory until the day I die! lol!

Actually Rodman was in the gym working out before games, before and after practice and after games. John Sally said the perception of Rodman as an undisciplined party goer was false. He said no one could out work Rodman. He was extremely disciplined about being in shape and having stamina because he knew he'd be going up against bigger and stronger players. He was ready for em.. Ask Shaq, Karl Malone, Charles Oakley, Charles Barkley, Larry Nance, Greg Daugherty, Jerome Kersey, Derrick Coleman
