17:02 10 years ago. I used to have a tourist train excursion to Namtok (The end of Death railway that still operational to this day). I'm Thai, and I used to attend a high school in Nakhon Pathom. Our school decided to rent entire train (4 cars) for around 100 students, and turn it into a party limousine (but on rail). One of the most fun experiences during high school.
7 years ago we went on day excursion trips to Hua Hin and Nam Tok but the waterfall was dry. This was when there was 65-70 baht to 1GBP and there was no food included, so the tickets were very cheap, maybe £5 per person. We loved seeing the huge stupa and the Bridge on the river Kwai, a very poignant place for British people. For the rail market you had to go to a small station in western Bangkok and take 2 ferries across rivers.
Looks great, and thx for posting. But can't help thinking the old school DMU, cheap and cheerful, is more authentic. The trip up to Nam Tok, and scoring a cab ride on the (very late running) trip back into Hua Lamphong will be a day I'll never forget!
Hello, I made this trip years and years ago in a regular train and your video brouhgt memories back. Less luxorius but what an adventure and Bankok has stolen my hart as well. Helas I am now to old to travel to thailand, but the memories remain..........
Really enjoy your vids, including this one. Thank you. But pedantic corner here .... "exorbitant" means overly expensive; priced more than it's worth. It does NOT mean 'an excess of'. You probably meant there was an extravagant amount of single-use plastic, or simply 'a wasteful' amount of plastic.
@@NonstopEurotrip Haven been there for quite a time, a lot changed as I read, didn't even know Hualampong isn't serving long distance any more .. Very sad.
Good video! There’s a certain irony in the fact that they use a Japanese train to take people on this journey, given the history of the Burma-Thailand Railway. 🤔
We have the secret new carriers car made by Thai manufacturers in Beyond horizon project. The inspiration by airway business class design. I hope SRT will open public commercial tour in next year (2025) 😂😂😂

Glossy red train exterior with gold striping is awesome. Thanks for the unique train tour.
Absolutely beautiful isn't it Sam! 😍
Great video! Love the train! :)

Like those parties on Dsico Boats passing by on Menam Kwae .. Must be real fun for Thai People :)
Wow thanks for sharing - that sounds fun! I did the Namtok excursion also, and swam in the waterfall and went to the cafe there. brilliant times!

"or something else ... " made me laugh on what you can do in Bangkok. All the best.
No comment! lol
Wow so beautiful train. I will comeback thailand next month ❤😊
6:40 Sounds exactly like the one JR East uses on the Tohoku/Akita Shinkansen.
haha yes!!
Excellent video thanks for sharing. What a beautiful train
Isn't it just!

Thanks for sharing and hopefully I brought back some good memories!
That was very interesting, a great train trip😅
Gorgeous train
The way you talk is so cute
I REALLY hope they upgrade their normal rolling stocks a bit, but the Special trains are super nice thought
They’re now making orders for carriages and locomotives! Should arrive between 2028-2031
@@Maximus-ch4irThat would be super awesome
yes I cant wait for this also!
Great video.
Thanks!
Totally agree that the red/gold livery is awesome. The interior flooring, however, looks like Ikea style faux wood?
Could be LOL
wished I knew this before I visited Bangkok!
I must say. You have a wonderful job!
It certainly could be worse :-)
Great name for a train
Super cool that you can still ride the old JNR coaches in Thailand!
Yes indeed!

Loved the third class coaches that use to serve the route - fare was risen to 100 Baht, after they had introduced a special "tourist" tariff ..
They still do!

Was that definitely Bridge 277 that you saw?
I'm wondering how the journey is like on the Prestige Train.

Is the title supposed to be just a placeholder?
What language please? It's fine in English.
I'm thinking it's because of the "auto dubbing" feature that RUclips turns on by default now, and the audio isn't English also

Yes. The two worst places in Thailand imo
