Thank you guys for tuning into this video! 🚨 NOTICE 🚨 If you, the viewer choose to take on this project, please be aware of the following safety precautions to take when making or using the bots: • The robot operators and people nearby must at least wear safety glasses/face shields or run the battle in an enclosure (Battle box) to avoid flying splinters or debris from hitting people. • Keep these robots way out of reach from children and pets. • During the making process, avoid using lighters near the Lithium battery or any components when heat shrinking tubes onto wires to avoid a fire. • To avoid injury to self or others when testing the battle bots, check that each and every moving part (especially weapons) is secured tightly with either glue or bolts. Also, these mini Battle Bots replicas were intended to be purely models and nowhere nearly as destructive to one another as the real Battle Bots to preserve them. There's always room for improvement on the weapons and other mechanisms if you (a fellow maker) are inspired and decide to take on this project to make them serious combat robots. All the same, bringing these mini Battle Bots to life was super fun and I'm glad to be sharing it with you all! Stay creative and have an awesome day! Max.
That’s been around for so long You can use metal in most leagues but so many people do that, I don’t think anyone would jump on to your league if the weapons were weak plastic that couldn’t even damage opponents.
Thank you for addressing the safety concerns- its super important, and keeps people and pets safe in a dangerous field of robotics! All that has been said being said, don't let your mistake deter you from making combat robotics content! Invest in setting a precedent for appropriate safety in your future videos and keep up the amazing showmanship! I'd love to see more content like this for our sport, and I know that the people who do this sport professionally want to as well- we just care about keeping you and the people who love combat robots safe. I'll be looking forward to your improvement :D -J
Wow this is amazing!!! Your creativity your quality videos!!! I think that it was you who started my journey as a rc RUclipsr during you first Rc cardboard car video!!! Keep up the great work and quality videos!!!😁😁👏
Fantastic work, Max! Really well done!!! 😃 During college I had AI course and we worked with an open source engine for combat robots... Everything run on the PC, obviously, it was kinda simulator... Anyway, something like that for real robots should be fun! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
@MaxImagination no, it was really simple stuff... It worked with Java, I don't remember with what IDE either... But it gave you a list of "sensors" (to detect the other robots and so on) and you could use a few actions, like turn, shot and so on. It was actually pretty fun. 😊
Not gonna lie. 3d plastic battle bots is very recommend for beginners... Also I really love your battle bots. I hope you can make it more better Like upgrading your battle bots or adding it some titanium hehehe
please use a testbox next time, even at 10% throttle a plastic weapon can splinter and create debris that could damage you or the environment. cool vid, but with all the plugs in the video it seems like you anticipate people copying you - people who might not hold safety as highly as you do.
Thanks for your feedback. Also I did not have a test box nor did I have the resources to create one. For safety, myself and the people around me wore protective glasses from splinters or any flying debris.
@@MaxImagination a cardboard shield and staying out of the axis of rotation (for horizontal spinners, this means standing on a chair or around a corner, for verts this just means being perpendicular to it's rotation) is sufficient for a spin-up test. if you can even just operate from around a corner, or through a glass door that would be enough 👍
Thanks for your advice. Safety is something I missed covering in this video, so I edited the pinned comment above to let others know what to look out for. Cheers.@@l8dawn
Great Project. I was also thinking of making sumo robot using arduino. Thanks for the video. I think that you should make things other than 3d printed, as most of people don't have this. Maybe I will try to make this using other materials like aluminium or pvc plastic, etc. By the way, lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰

Thankyou so much. I've been looking for the right angle to start producing robots. I know how difficult it is to make things look easy. Your code is divine, could read it like a book. Just what I needed!
@bettymac8248 My apologies... I forgot to add the LEDs in my design before. Thanks to your reminder, here's the updated diagram with the 3mm LEDs for the robot's eyes - drive.google.com/drive/folders/15aHfdTwPa-ggwqGhpSv3aIiWcaQg_9YN?usp=sharing
Hey, Kelvin! Thanks for your comment. I don't know if I will want to make that, but will keep that idea in mind for when I see enough requests. Cheers.
If you do a future video whare you have a vertical spinner like death role you need to have the disc spinning up instead of down, this is so you don't have a pieces from other robots shoot in and damage your hardware and so it can send the other appoint up instead of just nibbling at the appoint. Just wanted to tell you for safety and so you video can have big hits in it . I recommend checking out broken link robotics and just cuz robotics to learn more

Hello
We should start a 3d print no metal battle bot league. I feel like a lot of people would want to get in on that.
That's actually a thing, the so called plastic antweight class is for 1lb bots with no metal parts allowed.
@@k-hut9344 holy crap!! I’m about to research it and sign up.

Hey max, another awesome idea would be a nano rc fav helicopter, try the Blackhawk or the Huey to start!

How much each robot you build? Hydra and death roll?
From $70 USD in build cost each.
How heavy is it either it can compte in any or beetle weight
400-500 grams.

Why is hydras flipper lifted up a bit
It was due to an issue with the flipper mechanism facing some wear. This may be fixed if those gears were to be made from metal.
