    “Wing flaps” perfect paper aeronautics terminology - elevons is what they actually are. The most impressive achievement here is that the paper airframe handles the weight of all that tech 😮

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Год назад +1

      "Wing flaps", yup, you now know I'm not an aeronautics engineer. However, studying it!
      Yeah, the paper doesn't fold mid-flight despite the weight onboard due to the type of folding that went into the paper airplane to give it sturdiness.

    Cool idea. Your video made me want to make something similar, but with a tinywhoop FC with an onboard receiver and VTX. Since the board would also have a 4in1 ESC, you could run two small outrunner brushless motors. Also if I redesigned the frame, all of the components could be screwed in place instead of glued in place for easier replacement, as both the FC and brusheless motors have small screw holes.

    totally awesome!! reminds me of the old kickstarter paper plane kit "power-up", just nerdier and awesomer!! :D
    i could imagine that the plane would stay up longer when using a slightly larger piece of paper, so theres less weight per wing area.
    i also think that the props would be more efficient when flipped around 180°, you just have to cut off the top, or drill the hole all the way through.
    and if they spin the wrong direction, you can just use the other props which spin counter clockwise. (i assume you are using the props from the h36 mini drone, right?)
    not an expert, but there might also be a way to get some more voltage out of the "ecu", the battery should provide more than 4v when full.
    love your work! stay young and wild, my friend!! 🤗

      Hey! The range is currently around 100 meters and can be extended with a larger antenna. Adding an NRF would work if you're willing to add your own code and make it controller-operated instead of by mobile.

    I put the camera alone, without motors, atop my already assembled RC plane, but I can not get the live video streaming, I only see the bar controls.

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Месяц назад +1

      This could be the WiFi connection between the camera and your device. Try connecting via a different device/browser. Or it could be an SD data issue - try reuploading the app via SPIFFS in the Arduino IDE to the XIAO ESP32S3 Sense.

      @@samuelfernandez9354 No, it did not. I just tried to be polite as Max had replied. But I did not understand how to implement his solution as I am not good at implementing the code. I searched on SPIFFS videos but did not understand them.
      I did, however, tried something different but it was too slow. There is another video on RUclips on how to connect the camera directly to your wifi home router. So, I turned my phone into a hotspot, and changed the camera code to connect to my phone hotspot instead. This allowed me to be independent from my home router and go outdoors. But the video was unusable. Notably, the video was smooth when connected to the router.

    Do you know how to stop latency of camera

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Месяц назад

      You can reduce latency with better antennas, less interfering blocks of code, and using lower frame rates for the camera.
      There is not much else I see you can do about latency when controlling via WiFi.

    I once made single propeller plane using drone parts
    But it wasn't flying as this one
    Maybe because of weight I am not sure

    Cool project, but please spend some time tuning your 3d printer profiles. The amount of stringing is crazy.

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Год назад

      Hi there. The stringing was actually due to the printer head moving back to home position every time a layer was made for the timelapse.

    Just out of curiosity, why didn’t you directly wire the motors to the gpio pins?

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  9 месяцев назад

      That would result in burning the microcontroller, so a MOSFET for each was used to drive them.
      Never do as you mentioned.
