I enjoy your productions. Like #6. The Coastal Range is in California and BC, the Coast Range is in Oregon, it has completely different geology and geomorphology than the other two. As far as camping @Cedar Butte, there’s the ODF Keenig Creek campground near the bridge turnoff, it’s 22 minutes, 6.3 miles away from the Cedar Butte trailhead. Have a great day, I look forward to your next episode.
I've unintentionally slid down that hill! Lost all the material I collected on my way up. The best pickings really are closer to the bottom. The bigger cryatals that made it down the hill intact tend to stay intact.
Third time was the charm😊. Yup, I'm with you, too steep to be messing around. It will all eventually make its was down to the bottom. I'm glad to see Sara getting more exposure and finding some of the best pieces. Keep having fun!!! Woof to the pup.
Jewelry makers would love the botryoidals rough cut to oval for wire wrapping. I would LOVE SOME. lol. The little ones for earrings and pendants and pins. Fyi
September is the best time for the coast IMO. Nov. /Dec. has some terrific storms and high tides but less beach to explore and wow is it wet lol. Love your road-trips and always enjoy the wrap-up in the shop ❤
@@CurrentlyRockhounding I am not really oriented like a rockhound. So I am generally not oriented to finding the variety of collectable minerals and rocks like you. I have collected many samples over the years, many purchased and many not.... Normally, I can buy hand samples of larlger specific items for my classes. They often originate outside of the PNW, although most of what is available for augite are twinned and not true individual crystals (which confuses students when adjacent cleavages of twinned crystals don't appear to correlate). It is exciting to see that there are some good augite samples here though (although small--I'm spoiled by the hand-size samples).
My daughter broke her finger last time we were up there. Didn't do anything sketchy, just lost her balance and slammed her hand down on a rock when she over corrected to catch herself.
1:111:46 and this is where i have to put some stuff, well all of it, in check. I'll assume, yes i understand what it could make me, that Oregon isn't your home state. If it is, then I'll also assume that your home location is probably something similar to HOA. Im Oregon bred through and through. For everything you stated with distain, is still my home that i respect . Kids? Yell. Dogs play. Music is blasted. Regardless of what state to travel for the beautiful rocks you find that drew me in to this video. Thats why i started watching. But trashing my state, or any other honestly, because its not something you .. prefer? Dont do that. Dont stay where you dont like what the residents of the area do daily, at will with whatever reason they choose. Not all feel as you do. Some could even agree. But respect should still be given to those around you. I dont want to change anyone from living their best life in whatever annoying form it may be. My children yell. Drives me crazy when its fighting. But thats also changed with age. May not be your cup of tea. But the point is, thats where a choice to stay or walk away comes in. Complaining isn't doing anything besides talking down to how another lives everyday without being so harshly critical. I have respect for you and what you ate showing on your rocky path. I'll still watch your videos up until something like what ive stated. Thats why im here.
Just wanted to throw out that if I have to sit though six ads (two to start, two groups of two during the video), YT can afford to monetize you. Thanks for the video.
I still get a tiny fraction of ad money from RUclips which is nice but its just a tiny fraction of what it once was. At some point here my hope is that my Patreon can grow to the point where I can fully turn off all the ads on this channel.

Milestone!!! 40,000 followers - congrats 🎉 and thanks for another awesome video 😊
Thank you very much!
Awesome video! Love the drone footage. And as always, educational and well worth the time to watch. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much.
Augite crystals are beautiful! Thanks for doing the sketchy stuff so we don't have too! Loved the video!
You guys were in my neck of the woods! Well not Tillamook but the Oregon coast.
Nice specimens, really like the olivene

Yeah staying at the bottom is smart.

Yeah way too steep!
How cool to see olivine in your samples !!!
Thank you!

I would like to go back out there this fall or early winter to hit the beaches after some big storms.
A great spot! Love the tent setup.
It really is a very nice thing to have.
Very nice crystals.
Thank you!
Love the rooftop tent! A pole tent gets tiring. Glad you didn’t eat it on the slope of ball bearings 😅
I never want to go back to sleeping on the ground.
Would love to find some of that!
It's pretty fun material.
Ha ha! I always climb the steep places. Yeah I've slipped a few times but I always seem to find the best stuff in sketchy places lol.
Ha! It's all you!
Wow! I'm not used to seeing augites like that! Very nice although a bit small.
Is there somewhere in the northwest that has larger ones?

When removing crystals from matrix, how big is the risk of damaging the crystal in the process?
The tuff matrix is pretty crumbly stuff and most of the extractions I did were pretty easy and I only broke a few little ones.
I THOUGHT that was olivine. Thanks for showing them in macro.
I'm glad you liked it!

That sounds awful.
Undulating... word for today!!!
The most beautiful place on earth for me is the costal forests
It sure is lovely.

This is one of the most dimwitted comments I have read.
To assume all of these things is beyond stupid.

The music blasting in the woods is RIDICULOUS. People camping/fishing. Leave that crap at home ffs.
Yeah it really is obnoxious.
Imo loose dogs are a good thing.
You might want to rethink that.
