I suppose Plot just forgot to mentioned it. But in Tomura's backstory, before his quirk appeared, a strange and really tall man in a suit brought Tomura at home, after the little boy and his other friends were playing heroes. The man is not shown completely (and that's enough suspicious already). After this, Tomura started feeling the itching stronger while his skin became completely dry. That's why he is supposed to be quirkless and was AFO the one giving him the quirk. But obviously we don't know yet if this is the case. Horikosi, the mangaka, didn't confirm it, but he didn't deny it either. We just need to wait. Even if I'm just confused, why Plot didn't mentioned it
I posted this on another anime channel weeks ago, but it got little attention: I hope you see this: TL;DR: Shigaraki has Deku's quirk. So when you think about science: Fire is just highly excited electrons. Deku's dad was a fire user. Deku's mom is a telekinetic. Mixing these two could result in Shigaraki's Decay quirk. So what if the doctor took Deku's quirk and gave it to Shigaraki? All this could have been All for One's plan from the beginning. A quirk like that could be an S-class Hero quirk. Deku could have used that power to actually save thousands, maybe millions. Especially if it had evolved to fit Deku's personality, it could have become something akin to overhaul, or even possibly the cure for cancer (targeted decay). The sky's the limit. But think of the author's obsession with Star Wars. This could the "Luke, I'm your father." Moment it could just be "Deku your essence has killed millions..." It would be even a grander tale than a nobody becoming a God. It would be the tale of a half a man having to kill the other half of himself for the betterment of society. Just a great twist in the making.
God I love All for One so much. He just plays his game so thoughtfully so smartly, he uses those around him and picks what he thinks is best. He is the peak of villainy.
dude, I think my computer is broken, everytime i click on a video a couple minutes after it was made, it has a more unusual amount of views and comments.
I feel bad for everyone in the Shimura family, including Kotaro- Tenko’s/Tomura’s father. He suffered just as much as his son. As a matter of fact, I believe the way he acts towards Tenko and Hana, because of his mother Nana and all the other heroes is one of the main reasons why Tenko/Tomura hates All Might due to Kotaro’s abandonment as a child without any parents to properly raise him and that he truly loved them by not wanting them to follow in their Grandmother’s footsteps. The reason his mother left him in foster care was because Kotaro’s father (Nana’s husband) was killed by an unknown villain (presumably All for One). In my personal opinion, there are other ways that Tenko’s transformation into Tomura could’ve been avoided. Some people may blame the father, because of being abusive, but I believe part of that blame goes to Nana for not taking care of him and quitting the hero life or telling Gran Torino about Kotaro. If she told him, then maybe Kotaro and Toshinori would be like brothers. Kotaro being the younger brother, Toshinori being the older brother, and Gran Torino being the father figure they would look up too. If that happened, then Kotaro wouldn’t be resenting heroes. Kotaro would later meet Nao (Tenko’s mother) and Hana and Tenko would be born and they would grow up to be a hero family duo of siblings like they wanted. I feel bad for the Shimura family, including Kotaro Shimura/the father. He suffered just as much as his son Tenko/Tomura did.
You can't blame Nana for that and he should be grateful that AFO didn't kidnap him for his nefarious purposes. Heroes have the right to start families. Kota on the other hand was insulting the memories of his late parents' sacrifice.
He was bitter because his mother left him. I mean I understand why he was angry. If my mum left me behind I would be pissed too. That said taking it out on his son was wrong.
Jason Browne All children have been exposed to some form of trauma. The very act of being put in foster care was because it means the loss of a child’s birth parents. After all, Kotaro’s father died because a Villain killed him (presumably Afo) in revenge for the hero work she has done. After her husband’s death, Nana sent Kotaro to a foster care away from the hero life leaving him feel abandoned and held resentment against her rather than giving up the hero life and be a proper parent (I mean there are multiple heroes) or tell Gran Torino about it.
Avery Martin I think the itch is a psychological thing, the result of his father’s abuse. Similar to how children who come from homes with parents who fight a lot, can often unknowingly develop fake illness as a way to get their parents to stop fighting There are also cases where children who have suffered mental and or physical abuse at the hands of a parent or family member self mutilate in unusual ways. Then you have people who develop weird habits due to stress such biting nails or over itching
It is possible the Quirk AFO gave Tomura simply mixed with his actual quirk and became the decay quirk or that the itchiness was caused by mental stress from constant mental\physical abuse as he says he feels the itch deep inside his very being.
I don't think he was quirkless. His itchiness had been going on for some time his mother said in the chapter. And the guy in the chapter at the front door who everyone said had to be AFO he very well could've been as we don't see his face just a suit. But if it was him I think Shigaraki would've remembered it was him after he overcame his mental block and got all his memories back. I think he did manifest his quirk on time, but it didn't come out fully because of his abusive father. He says in the chapter of his backstory that he's always itchy at home. And we see in his childhood his face is distorted like it is when he is older around his eyes which aren't scars. Well, what brings out quirks? Emotion! What does he do at the house all the time? Cry! What do you do when you cry? Rub your eyes! And when he rubbed his eyes he accidentally activated his quirk which made his eyelids and the surrounding skin look dead. Later in the chapter were shown another example of his emotion bringing out his quirk. When he finds out Nana is his grandma and she was a hero this makes him happy. Then when he throws the ball for his dog a piece broke off. Now when it broke off he felt a slight pain in his hand. Most people say it hurt him because AFO gave him the quirk and his body isn't used to it. Part of that is true I think. I don't think AFO gave him the quirk, but I do believe he wasn't used to it. Because since his quirk was suppressed by his bad emotions so much it had never activated to that scale before. And then at the next chapter when he feels something greater than sadness. A.K.A Hate! His quirk comes out in full force destroying everything and everyone. And during it, he says he feels itchy. Which is something he feels all the time when he's agitated up until he's an adult. I do believe AFO did keep an eye on him and tracked him. Which isn't hard cause AFO has Ujiko who is a pediatrician. And even at five, he hadn't been officially diagnosed as quirkless. His parents just assume he is quirkless. And if his doctor was Ujiko who is a well-respected doctor and Shigaraki's parents were wealthy. Then it's fair to say Ujiko knew that his quirk was destructive due to the skin around his eyes flacking off. And with AFO scouting him, seeing his family life probably. AFO and Ujiko probably knew he was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. That's my theory. I rest my case.
This is dumb. He was never quirkless. If he was quirkless we would have known from when we first found out about his backstory. His quirk just manifested later than other kids.
I mean, the way the story is going. They easily could shoehorn in that the doctor gave him his quirk to ruin the family that ruined all for one. But for right now, you''re right. We have nothing to say that was the case.
Yeah but his story is a bit like Deku's because he was neglected and abused at a young age (even though the types of abuse and neglect was different, Tenko got abused by his father and slightly neglected by his sister when she lied, and Deku got abused by other kids in the form of bullying and got neglected by his teachers), and they both had a supportive and kind mother, and they both desperately wanted to be heroes Still, I see your point because there are also a lot of differences like Deku didn't get an abusive father while Tenko did, and Tenko wasn't diagnosed quirkless, he was just a late bloomer, and Tenko didn't get bullied, in fact he played with other kids perfectly fine and even had some friends
Actullay, the first panel of Tenkos backstory in the manga shows a strange man in a suit bringing Tenko at home. The man is even not shown completely and it is strange that such a panel exist before Tenkos quirk manifested. So the strange man could be AFO. He could gave Tenko the quirk or just wanted to know what kind of quirk he has. So it is not clear if Tenko had a quirk or not.
Shigaraki it's still a murderer.. however his father is mostly to blame for his upbringing... His Father Despite Having A Family and Being a Weatlthy Man was too selfish and took His Anger Out On His Son... abusing his own son all because he wants to be a hero.... even if he was remorseful it's a little too late for that.. If all that is animated it's gonna to be fricken brutal. Especially for the ones that dont know it's coming. I'm already tearing up again at the panels.
Shigi is basically Izuku's foil, he's born into wealth, manifested an Op quirk but like Izuku, he wasn't given the appropriate care for his unique situation. Very nice Shigi and his family is just tragic....I luv it
Poor Mon. The dog loved Tenko enough to bark at Kotaro for hitting Tenko at 3:46. And sadly the first thing Tenko (accidentally) decays is Mon while embracing each other. RIP Mon and the Shimura Family.
AFO gave Tomura his decay quirk, this is basically confirmed since a man in a suit with his face in shadow(AFO) helped a lost Tenko find his way home literally right before his quirk manifested. Either Shigaraki was quirkless or AFO mixed his quirk with another and created the decay quirk.
I realized Eri and shigaraki have the same story think out it, eri accidentally killed her family, and chizaki found her and she became a prodigy for a rising organization it’s crazy how they are so similar
Dude. You missed the most important detail about all of this. In Chapter 235, Shigaraki is brought home because he was public acting like a hero. Who brought him home? Someone who looks exactly like One For All!!! That same day, his quirk manifested. This is the proof you need to show that Shigaraki had no quirk until One For All found him that day. Without that detail, this theory holds almost no weight.
Everyone before Shigaraki's backstory: he probably wanted to be a hero at some point... Horikoshi: Shigaraki wanted to be a hero Everyone: *teary eyed* oh my god he wanted to be a hero...
I don't think his quirk was missing, rather it was activated by high levels of stress. If you see in his backstory, you'll see that as soon as his dad catches him about the picture thingy. he decays part of the ball. by the end of his origin where he manifests his quirk fully, he's the most stressed at that point, making him able to crumble the house down. I also think that alternatively, it can be activated by rage or his very goal or destruction. in his childhood his quirk boosts up when he has a feeling of rage and is desparate for destruction, same with the awakening scene, caused by his wish for destruction.
What is missing from this video to support the Shigaraki being born Quirkless are the following: - AFO was keeping a close eye on Nana Shimura's family after he killed her. - When Shigaraki was even younger, a random dude(that was drawn EXTREMELY similar to AFO) "guided" the young(and "lost") Shigaraki to his house. It is BELIEVED that was the time that AFO gave the Decay Quirk to Shigaraki because he got the itching only AFTER that encounter. .. . Since we have no concrete evidence so far for either Shigaraki being born Quirkless and given the Decay Quirk by AFO or being a late bloomer and having his Decay Quirk manifest around the age of 5, the only thing we can ASSUME is that AFO wanted to "nurture" a person to become a Symbol of Fear in order to oppose any successor of OFA in case something happened to him(which happened and he is now locked up in Tartarus). .. . ... Friendly discussions, especially during these harsh times with the virus, breed healthy environment people. Do NOT be like Shigaraki's dad.
We can't say because the dudes quirk manifested after he returned with help of all for one to home after dude got lost... But that pannel of him killing his father, the zoom in was actually scary and gavelots of goosebumps!!
Shigaraki wants to destroy everything bc of Daddy issues and killing his entire family by mistake... that’s it. His motivations and dream are lacking beyond that.
You need to look deeper. His family abandoned him when he cried for help and no one helped after he killed his family. AFO was the only one who helped him and took him in. Tomura wants to destroy a world that left him for dead. I say that is a good motivation and soon he will have the power to achieve this goal.
Imagine if Inko was walking to the grocery store and she saw Tenko, and we all know how kind mama Inko is, so what if she took Tenko in and adopted him legally and him and Izuku became brothers and they both became heroes but then Izuku suddenly got brainwashed by All For One and went over to the dark side as the successor of All For One and Tenko has to get him back and then when All For One is captured then Izuku's brainwashing fails and he returns back to normal and Tenko becomes the successor of One For All and both of them together with All For One and One For All become the greatest heroes ever Someone please make a Wattpad story on this
@@Elnomoe My man being told off by your dad isn't enough to enhance a quirk to killing intent. If that was the case they'd be a lot of deaths caused by 4 year olds in that world. Seems to me they amped up his quirk for more shock value with the story than anything else.
It was because of a psychological barrier, locked away by the trauma of memories. Like in real life, trauma can affect people's memories. Similarly shown like twice and how he originally did not want to clone himself, thereby placing a self-limitation on his quirk. Just like in real life, things mentally can affect people physically as well since the body and mind are connected.

Ah. "Quality" content, he killed his family using the quirk he just developed but you need to add a red arrow and text "HE WAS QUIRKLESS"
Even if I'm just confused, why Plot didn't mentioned it
I posted this on another anime channel weeks ago, but it got little attention:
I hope you see this:
TL;DR: Shigaraki has Deku's quirk.
So when you think about science:
Fire is just highly excited electrons.
If this ends up being right that would be crazy
Edit: I forgot logic existed
Yeah, except Tomura is way older than Midoriya. He is like 20 years old and deku is 15-16
Not a twist since it isn't in the making
And I doubt science would be involved in ANIME
i could dream though...
God I love All for One so much. He just plays his game so thoughtfully so smartly, he uses those around him and picks what he thinks is best. He is the peak of villainy.
Do you remember when Tokoyami was teased to be a main character but instead was pushed into an even lower spot than Mineta in terms of screentime?
Tomura touches the floor
The city: my time has come
dude, I think my computer is broken, everytime i click on a video a couple minutes after it was made, it has a more unusual amount of views and comments.
You're fine. It's just RUclips's everyday shenanigans
And people have the nerve to say mha is too joyful and has no darkness, I can't wait for everyone to see this arc
Oh my god. That's a cruel past. If that was me I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
is Plot armor anime-only because this was cleared up like a long time ago
Derek Mayers-Louther no, they covered Twice's death and that's only in the most recent chapter of the manga
They probably did this episode because people were requesting it or something idk
Doesn't really matter if someone else covered it. He hasn't covered it yet and that's a good enough reason to make a video on it.
@@tayojones9460 Nana did that to protect him from AFO.
I know. I was explaining the feelings of Ko.
Jason Browne
All children have been exposed to some form of trauma.
But didn't he have the itch even before he got dropped off by that mysterious man?
Avery Martin I think the itch is a psychological thing, the result of his father’s abuse. Similar to how children who come from homes with parents who fight a lot, can often unknowingly develop fake illness as a way to get their parents to stop fighting
There are also cases where children who have suffered mental and or physical abuse at the hands of a parent or family member self mutilate in unusual ways. Then you have people who develop weird habits due to stress such biting nails or over itching
it also could be atopy. I have it too and whenever i get stressed it gets itchy for me
It is possible the Quirk AFO gave Tomura simply mixed with his actual quirk and became the decay quirk or that the itchiness was caused by mental stress from constant mental\physical abuse as he says he feels the itch deep inside his very being.
Seth Tolar good theory
This is dumb. He was never quirkless. If he was quirkless we would have known from when we first found out about his backstory. His quirk just manifested later than other kids.
Yeah and he somehow killed his entire family which are his twelve hands around his body so yeah
Still his story is just like Deku with a little change
I mean, the way the story is going. They easily could shoehorn in that the doctor gave him his quirk to ruin the family that ruined all for one. But for right now, you''re right. We have nothing to say that was the case.
Yeah but his story is a bit like Deku's because he was neglected and abused at a young age (even though the types of abuse and neglect was different, Tenko got abused by his father and slightly neglected by his sister when she lied, and Deku got abused by other kids in the form of bullying and got neglected by his teachers), and they both had a supportive and kind mother, and they both desperately wanted to be heroes
Still, I see your point because there are also a lot of differences like Deku didn't get an abusive father while Tenko did, and Tenko wasn't diagnosed quirkless, he was just a late bloomer, and Tenko didn't get bullied, in fact he played with other kids perfectly fine and even had some friends
Who's to say AFO didn't manage to slip a quirk to him?
This Boy needs a Hug, He got a Hard Life. 😭😭😭
@Daniel Johnson I wont, Thank you.
@Vacant Lot I know, I'll be careful
Thank you for another great video
Tbh tomura could really kill everyone in mha because of his awakening his quirk is op
-Tenko/Shigaraki wearing his family’s remains for the first time-
Me: hE’s So SmOl
The upside of my hero academia is having more backstories of villains , so we can know why they are bad.
Great narration and video! Side note: has anyone else noticed that Kota,Deku and Shigaraki all have basically the same shoes
At least Deku's mother didn't die.
Shigaraki has a seriously deadly quirk, I feel sadistic now seeing his family being disintegrated.
U feel sadistic?
you know you love a youtuber(s) when you scream "YES!" when that notification pops up
So an abused child learnt to protect himself...he has a better backstory than any hero
Rather Then Comfort His confused and traumatized son.. He Simply Attacks Him with A Bar.😂😂😂 This Is What Fully Causes shigaraki to snap and Kill His Father.. All The While His Father Had The Nerve To Beg For Mercy When He Could Of Potentially Killed His Son Who had No Idea What Happended.
Nana Can Not Be Blamed For Her Son's own foolishness.
Oh yes she can be blamed. ALL of his behavior came from HER abandoning him.
@@silverquis And what did you want her to do? Don't leave her family and let them die by All for One or abandon her hero job and let All for one let loose in the society?
@@silverquis So, you want him to grow up like Kota pre-Training Camp? Or worse, die while his mother is doing her work AKA a superhero?
@@silverquis Shigaraki's father is just an asshole, Nana had no choice and instead of understanding his own mother he acted like a bitch towards his family
@@silverquis again you play paid no attention to the series. He has himself to blame for abusing his own son and spitting on his mother sacrifice. He is Worse then his Own mother because he had everything that she lacked but he threwcit all away because he Was a Petty Fool.
Awesome video as always. Stay healthy. Have a great day from Germany.
After all anime backstory i’ve know this by far is quite well written
So unfortunate that Shigaraki was just like any other child, but had such a family and went through such trauma. All for one took advantage of that and groomed him. Crazy to think if a hero had helped him he would've ended up a hero now.
If all that is animated it's gonna to be fricken brutal. Especially for the ones that dont know it's coming. I'm already tearing up again at the panels.
It's already animated
Shigi is basically Izuku's foil, he's born into wealth, manifested an Op quirk but like Izuku, he wasn't given the appropriate care for his unique situation. Very nice
Shigi and his family is just tragic....I luv it
@Vacant Lot
That is what a foil means, two characters defined by how they contrast with each other.
@Vacant Lot
Sorry. I'm not good at reading tone.
@Vacant Lot
Fair enough.
I apologize for the confusion.
I am not very good at people skills.
Love your vids btw
I clicked so fast I nearly broke my thumb...
Tysm for 16 hearts that’s the most I’ve ever gotten ✨😁
Mha probably created the best villian of all time !
It's ridiculous. The first time Shigaraki met all for one was when he killed all of his family by using his decay quirk. He is not quirkless dude.
Horikoshi: Shigaraki wanted to be a hero
Everyone: *teary eyed* oh my god he wanted to be a hero...
I remeber reading this chapter and was like "YOU SHOULD'VE MET ME! THEN WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS MESS!" 😂
My "friends" call me Shigaraki now after watching this I regret letting them.
What is missing from this video to support the Shigaraki being born Quirkless are the following:
- AFO was keeping a close eye on Nana Shimura's family after he killed her.
AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO, MY RESPECT FOR SHIKARAKI WENT-UP AND MY FEAR OF ALL FOR ONE WENT UP TOO.
CB I think his quirk has a bit to do with it as it is a destructive in nature.
This is gonna be insane in the anime
The 🐐 backstory
These proves that villains are just broken heroes:')
Imagine a quirk where you can literally draw anything that dictate a person life like a author of a story.
This was in my recommended now the whole thing is spoiled due to the title ty luv
In the beginning joker shigaraki After getting new powers perfect shigaraki basically new all for one
His mom saw the pain in his eyes she is the only one who actually tried to save him and in turn it got her killed I cant bro this is so sad😴
The quirk is what changed tenkos heart
More like it was awakened by him finally snapping.
Who else new shigaraki's back story but wanted to watch the video because they were bored?
Imagine if Inko was walking to the grocery store and she saw Tenko, and we all know how kind mama Inko is, so what if she took Tenko in and adopted him legally and him and Izuku became brothers and they both became heroes but then Izuku suddenly got brainwashed by All For One and went over to the dark side as the successor of All For One and Tenko has to get him back and then when All For One is captured then Izuku's brainwashing fails and he returns back to normal and Tenko becomes the successor of One For All and both of them together with All For One and One For All become the greatest heroes ever
Someone please make a Wattpad story on this
Why was his quirk more powerful on first activation at the age of 5 then he is at the start of the magna and anime.
I guess it's cuz he couldn't control it and it was out of rage and guilt
@@ZephyrSean oh I don't know much lol so I just took a guess but that would make sense

I got chills wtf
How can you comfort a child in distress when they destroy anything at touch?
Absolutely, keep up the good 👍
I was literally thinking about this last night
Kinda reminds me of garra except in shigarki's case there's no going back
The difference between Garra and him is there was Naruto who knew what garra was going through and showed him he had people that loved him his brother and sister. Tenko had no one.
@@user-rl2rw3tp6s Well he did have someone. He simply killed the people that he had. His father was the only abusive person.
2mellow they were enablers they did nothing to stop tenko dad abuse. It’s the same with garra his family didn’t stop the kazakage from all the assassination attempt and abuse
@@user-rl2rw3tp6s That doesn't mean he didn't have anyone. As someone who came from an abusive family there are many factors that come into play. They were probably just scared of something negative happening. Obviously shigaraki's mother loved him reaching out to him even in death.
2mellow I was abused by my parents as well.
What chapter is this??
R.I.P. the family puppy
All for ones words are lowkey inspiring
I feel soo sad for him
Tomura if he gets defeated one day he should have a version of his family and saying sorry for not treating him right
All for One did not have to do anything to Bring shigaraki to him... shigaraki father did all the work for him.. to add insult to the injury All for one adopted shigaraki and gave him the name.. another thing is that Society refused to help Child and the one that came to Aid Was All For One
That hit different
Deku is definitely gonna save him before he dies
Bruh. Thing with the hands hits so much differently now ya know?
Holy shit, and I thought S4 was dark.... Can't wait for this to be animated
God, imagine having that kind of power. It’d be so easy to kill someone, and submit to that curiosity.
Basically DC Joker with powers
besides jokers quote "All it takes is one bad day to turn a sane man to lunacy" it takes an effect how one bad day could turn you down to the dark side
Dollars to donuts that Midoriya also had a quirk that the doctor stole from him as a child and showed the family a different kids xray.
I mean it does fit the story, Deku gets OFA from All Might because he was quirkless. Then Shigaraki gets his quirk from AFO.
All for One's gift idea: *hands*
He isnt quirckless when he was young in the series they even say he was thrown out for how dangerous his quirck was
If quirks are aspects of one's personality.. Has anyone dug into a nature vs nurture aspect to quirks? As they turn up at such a young age, does one's upbringing play more or less of a factor than one's genetics? If Tomura had been adopted as a baby into some other family, would decay still be the quirk he manifested?
Does anyone know the song from 8:43?
