    You've had great results! I just wanted to let you know that the EMS is not the same as microcurrent. They are completely different modalities. I've used a dedicated microcurrent machine for almost 5 years now and you don't feel anything. I recently purchased a different all in one machine that has an EMS mode on it and holy wow-even on level 1 as you said it's pretty aggressive. I think it has a place but I won't use more than once a week.

      Hi! Thank you for explaining the difference between EMS and microcurrent. I appreciate that! And you are right. That EMS mode is no joke!! I am being conservative with using the device, because I feel like you could actually do damage from using it too frequently. Slow and steady for this girl! Lol!

    Great review! I’m 43 and have revolutionized my skin through Korean skincare - we even use the same essence! I use to have a lot of acne, discoloration, etc until i turned 39 and started using K Skincare. I’ve been looking into getting this device to keep my skin looking young, even tho my skin is firm and not yet crepey or wrinkly. Is this similar to “RF MICRONEEDLING”?

    • @tinasbestmidlife
      @tinasbestmidlife  4 месяца назад

      Hi Calvin! I wish I had started doing all this at 43! I think you will be so happy you did when you get to be my age!
      You asked if the Lumo was like RF micro needling. With the Lumo you are not breaking the skin, so it differs from micro needling in that way. And obviously the strength of the Lumo is going to be a lot less then an in office RF treatment.
      Even though the Lumo is not as strong as in office procedures, after watching other RUclips videos, that talked about possible facial fat loss, I have become more conservative in using it. Now, I should say that I haven't experienced any facial fat loss (that I can see), but I have changed how I use it. I mainly treat my neck and I really avoid my cheek area all together. But, I also should say that recently I have been pretty sporadic in using my Lumo. I am getting so many devices that it is becoming harder to fit everything in! I am trying to get more regular schedule using it though, because I do feel it helps the firmness of the skin on my neck. I am sorry if this wasn't much help!

    Wow Tina! I absolutely see a difference in your frontal shots (cheeks and 'jowel' areas... I hate that word jowels and you certainly don't have them, but hopefully you know what I mean!). Holy cow you have amazing results in your neck in the side shots. I am super impressed. Question: are you continuing to use your red light panel when you're not using this device?
    I love the combination of red light, microcurrent and radio frequency all in one and I just might have to get this (a Merry Christmas to me early present!) I do use my red light panel and a microcurreny device but to have ALL of this in one is very tempting!
    Have a good week friend!

      Hi Sallie! I laughed with your "jowels" comment!! I know exactly what you meant but that word just makes me laugh!! Lol! I actually stopped using my red-light when I was testing out this product, just to see the results from this device alone
      . I'm back to my red-light again in addition to the Lumo now. I honestly still think a separate red light is a good thing, just because you really shouldn't use the Lumo more than 2 times a week. I think the red light with the Lumo is a good addition, but still happy to have my panel.
      So what micro current do you have? This was my first time using micro current and I'm not sure if it's the micro current or the sonic vibrations that feel so strange!
      Thank you so much for your continued support! Do you have any idea how much it means to me!! You are the best!! Thank you sweet friend!!

I had read a lot about microcurrent devices and had seen where *another popular brand* had caused heart palpitations and headaches in some and I didn't want to risk that. The Clareblend Mini has been great so far, but being able to have the RF, the red light and the microcurrent in one would save some time!
      And btw, I love supporting your channel. I appreciate the research you do on beauty products and devices most especially. It's so thorough and it's obvious you spend time on that. I trust your opinion!

      @@salliestephens1252 After using the Lumo, I am more interested in micro current. I have horrible hooded eyes and a lift would be great. I love that the Lumo has all these functions, but because I really believe you should only use it once a week, I feel like with micro current and red light, it's good to have separate devices so you can use those modalities more frequently. I think having those definitely adds benefits with the Lumo, but because of the radio-frequency, I am really using it conservatively. All the research I have done on radio frequency, makes me very leery to use it more frequently than once a week. I believe you truly need that "downtime" for your skin to "regenerate" and allow the collagen to rebuild. I've read about women having the exact opposite effects they were looking for by over using it! So I am staying on the conservative side with this. Slow and steady is what I am doing and if after 8 weeks, using it only once a week, I saw these results, I am excited for the future updates. That is just my two cents! Lol! I had never hard of the micro current you have and because I have yet to research it, hearing the research you did, is so helpful!
      Lastly, can I just tell you how much your support means to me???!!! Honestly, I struggle to put into words how much I appreciate you. I am now back to using both devices, but I really believe the full results from using the Lumo are going to take some time to see. For me personally, I am looking for things to firm and tighten my skin and I honestly don’t know if red light or radio frequency is the best for that?? I love that the Lumo has red light included, but you can’t and shouldn’t use it as frequently as you would a separate red light device. So basically, I don’t have a good answer for you. I’m sorry! It turns out it is excellent for my deep rooted cystic acne to accelerate the cycle of the acne. The other bonus is the temporary snatched look and I loved that I could use a calming toner and no irritation. I think that worked a lot better than microcurrent. I see you concentrated on your jowl, chin and neck area. That's also where I need to see improvement but also between my eyes where I have apparently been a little too "expressive". I am planning on taking more photos in a month or two and do a follow up video to see what my progress is looking like. One thing I have noticed looking at my neck. My problem area is right over my thyroid area. I know some women using this device pull the skin over their thyroid area to the side in order to treat it, but I have trouble doing that because my hands gets slippery with the conducting lotion! HI Tina - Thanks for your review! I have been using my Lumo for about 3 weeks now. I am 52 and have been using the EMS mode M/W/F and the ENI, RF, and EMS modes on Wednesday per the recommendation of another lovely RUclipsr. However, seeing your results and listening to your explanation I am going down to once a week. Strangely, the last few uses I've noticed that the ENI mode is "shocking" me and is quite painful, even on low mode. A far different sensation than the EMS mode. Have you experienced anything like that? I'm wondering if my device is malfunctioning.

      Hi Wendy! This Lumo is powerful isn’t it?! I was doing my treatments with a water based toner and I think that was working just fine, but I decided to get a conductive gel off of Amazon to try that and oh my gosh! I had to go down a level because it was so intense on both the ENI and EMS modes! I definitely feel the “zapping” in the ENI mode, but it’s not painful, just an intense feeling if that makes sense?? But the fact that you didn’t change conductor gels, and the sensation changed, I think I would contact Evenskyn and see what they say?? I’m sorry I’m not more help!

    Hi. Thank you for the informative video. I have been using the Lumo for about 6 weeks. You are getting great results and I think it is helping me but not sure. How many minutes per week are you using it and do you use all the modes every week? Thanks!

    • @tinasbestmidlife
      @tinasbestmidlife  Год назад +1

      Hi Nancy! I think you could see from my pictures, that the changes have been subtle so far, so I can understand if you aren't sure it is helping yet. I have been doing my treatments, one day a week and this is what I have been doing the last few weeks. I do one session in the ENI mode after applying a copper peptide serum. I have read copper peptides are helpful after radio frequency /micro-needling treatments. I know we aren't getting the micro needling part with the Lumo, but figured I would give it a try. That mode is 2 minutes long. Then I do one RF mode (5 minutes) and lastly an EMS mode (5 minutes) So, a total of 12 minutes for the week. The more I read about radio frequency, I think a lot of the magic happens in the "downtime". Giving your skin the time to work on building more collagen. I plan on doing an update video on my progress in a couple of months, so I can compare how my pictures look then against the before pictures.
      I hope this helps!! I am my no means an expert on this, but if you have any questions, just let me know and if I don't know I can contact Evenskyn to try and find out.

      Hi there! I have been thinking about your comment and here are my thoughts. I definitely feel like the Lumo is working, but I also know that any changes I have seen are subtle, but I feel that's because I am choosing to use it very conservatively. I am only using it once a week. This is just for my own comfort level. I have read about fat loss with professional radio frequency treatments, and even thought the Lumo is obviously not as powerful as an in office RF device. I still don't want to risk it, which is why I only use it once a week. The red light that is part of the Lumo is a nice added benefit, but because you should't use it as frequently, I don't think this is a replacement for a red light device. My Mito panel, having owned it a lot longer and being able to really see the difference it has made, I guess at this point in time, I would say the Mito panel. I also love how in owning a panel, it has helped me so many times with a strained back or knee, etc. Now, as I continue to use the Lumo and keep documenting my progress, maybe that might change in the future, but right now, that's my opinion.
      I really hope that helps!!

      Hi Jennifer! Thank you for the kind words! 🥰
      Now onto your great question. From what I know about melasma, for some people it can be triggered by heat. Using the Lumo, there is definitely heat generated. In fact, that is why the instructions say to keep the device constantly moving over your skin, because if you stopped it in any one area, you could possibly burn yourself. But I should elaborate that when you are using it and moving it around, I have never been uncomfortable or felt like it was too hot. I did suffer from melasma, which I think was due to hormones during my pregnancies, but haven’t had any issues since.
      I am going to send of this question to Lumo and when I hear back from them, I will update this to let you know.

      @tinasbestmidlife  Год назад

      Hi Jennifer! This is what I heard back from Evenskyn regarding your question. I just copied and pasted. I hope this helps!
      In most cases, radio frequency skin tightening generally is fine because the convergence of the RF waves happens in the dermal layer, which is below the topical epidermal layer, where most of the melanocytes (pigment-reducing cells) exist.
      Since the device targets the dermal layer and the pigment-reducing cells are in the epidermal layer, the Lumo will not help or reduce Hyperpigmentation.
      However, with all medical inquiries, we recommend following up with a medical physician or dermatologist to ensure radio frequency treatment is safe to undergo given your specific conditions.

    • @tinasbestmidlife
      @tinasbestmidlife  Год назад

      Hi Wendy! I heard back from Evenskyn and I am going to copy and paste their response:
      Some research evidence does exist that suggests that blue light at certain wavelengths (wavelengths that are outside of what the Mirage, Venus and Lumo's set parameters), if directed at the eyes, can over time cause some damage, such as light in the range of 420 to 455 nanometers of wavelength.
      For damage to take place, research shows direct projection or light rays into the iris or cornea of eyes is required, and no EvenSkyn device’s usage has blue light entering a user’s eyes while open. Additionally, even on the off chance the light produced by an EvenSkyn device does enter one’s eyes, it’s outside of the wavelength identified in studies as harmful.
      Additionally, The range of wavelengths that our everyday electronic devices & gadgets with screens produce (such as our phones, computer monitors and TVs), can be, according to some studies, with prolonged exposure, be the cause of some damage to eyes. Again, what’s important to note is, the rays of light emitted are directly and in an unobstructed manner entering our eyes for hours. One way to understand what to avoid, in a somewhat reverse manner, is to see what wavelengths the blue light filters (that one can buy to install on top of their screen to protect oneself from exposure), block out and what wavelengths of blue light they allow. A person using a blue light filter will still be able to make out the blue colour when shown on screen, however, some wavelengths will be filtered out. Almost all blue light filters invariably filter out the high energy range of the blue light spectrum, being between 400 nm (nanometers) to 450 nm. And again, as a reminder, both Venus and Lumo’s blue light operates at 465nm, which is outside the high energy range, and further, in neither device’s case does the safe blue light enter the eyes anyway.
