I feel like the 17th Level feature should be something like Pain Share: Any damage inflicted upon you is also inflicted upon the attacker.

"Would it make more sense to nerf them in similar ways, disadvantage on things"
My brain: "Disadvantage on your family! Disadvantage on your cow!"

I feel like something pertaining to maintaining concentration when damaged would be thematic for this kind of cleric. That they really embrace the pain and it doesn't shake them.
Maybe an ability to ignore a failed save, or that failing a save confers a bonus like temp HP? Not sure.

I also thought of that. Reducing damage feels counterintuitive to the vibe of this domain, but ignoring the effects of damage is very thematic. Maintaining or even strenghtening concentration feels like a good 17th level feature

For me it feels more like priest of Loviatar I think that was the intent.

I’m not familiar with loviatar, but I’ll have to look it up

@@Cinderblocksally She is goddes of pain and as you said she likes to give pain as it is glorious. She is rival with Illmatyr god of mercy and suffering (as in god for those who suffers). Both are from forghotthen realms, but in 5e are less important since 5e is more open with setting and do not dwell so much on gods specific to one realm.

Graz'zt and some of his followers get some pain oriented abilities that some pointers could be taken from on this

You should consider The first damage of the day is ZERO. Lvl 17 feature, twice per day, as reaction brake concentration.

Shrug off the mechanical effect of damage. No sell weapon strikes like the undertaker.

I feel like there isnt nearly enough hooks, chains, and puzzle boxes with this subclass.

So at 17th level you recover from the dying state every turn? So you can take an almost infinite amount of pain as long as you aren't killed outright?

I didn’t interpret it as brining you back from dying, but you might be right! if that is intentional, I’d probably still suggest changing it. Feels a little too strong
