Going through sexual abuse as a kid too I remember thinking the same thing "it's better me than my sister" I eventually realized that if I got him angry that day that night we wouldn't get molested I threw my virginity at the first boy who was nice to me so that he wouldn't take it from me and tried protecting my sister at all costs. She was the only reason why I survived for years... the only thing I regretted was not stabbing him in the middle of the night because I didn't want to tramatize my mom, for two years I blamed myself for being weak but then he got throat cancer and died a slow death from what I'm told.

My father tortured me when I was a child. I remember by the time I was 12 I was fed up with his shit. I remember looking at him and thinking “you’re pathetic.” He didn’t even work, just sat around all day being supported by my grandmother (we lived with her and my step grandfather. She was aware of the abuse and she abused me too). I started “talking back” when he would call me names. And I wasn’t scared when he would threaten to beat me. The last time he hit me I was 15. He smacked me so hard I fell into the mud (on my way to school). I said “don’t fucking touch me!” I had *never* swore before, not even alone. But I was done, and didn’t care.
I look back at all the times I retreated into myself to escape, and how that brought me strength. I’m left with complex PTSD, OCD and depression, but that moment where I knew I wasn’t going to take his abuse anymore was so powerful.

      Biblical explanation of the Gospel:
God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why
we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go
there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not
gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteouss, but
rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam
sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23)
The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23).
For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ
for He lived a sinless life.
None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all
have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10).
Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16)
We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
He said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him.
''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15)
''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19)
Repentance is a turning from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8).
Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6)
If you have repent and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually.
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)
''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7)
If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will have new desires -
to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God.
You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace
revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son.
''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17)
''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10)
You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ.
As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so.
In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.''
''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19)
''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41)
''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body,
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21)
''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4)
''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God,
who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12)
Please get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32)
Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!
Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

As a father of 2 young girls I cried thinking about my own daughter taking sexual abuse for her younger sister. It doesn’t sound small or silly to make an apple crumble to make a small child’s life better it sounds wonderful and amazing and yet so heartbreaking to think that was what made a child’s life better. This kind of story is so important so we can avoid this type of abuse occurring again. Never walk past it, report it follow it up even a hunch.

We have a problem with the Catholic Church refusing to change and even being encouraged not to change after their horrendous cover up of systemic child abuse was revealed. We had a royal commission which made many suggestions (which I’m proud to say the scout org immediately took up) which the church refuses to adhere to. Personally I keep my kids away from clergy as well as having written several times to our local cardinal who is quite opposed to change, I’ve shared his response with our local member and priests. They will never be the person they would have been had abuse not intervened in their development. But no one cares about that. She's so freaking powerful for showing her face and talking about such a personal and vulnerable experience
I still have nightmares about my own abusive family. Just a few days ago woke up completely terrified, not even remembering where I was, after dreaming that my father finally killed my ex stepmother. I was all covered in blood again, just like when I was a little girl grabbing my father and pushing him away from her. Screaming for help, fearing for my own life, while nobody else cared to help.
The whole family I grew up with is abusive. Each in their own way. And one of my brothers, instead of helping, he just joined the abuse. And the rest of the family, whenever I tried to reach out, without even hearing me tried to silence me. Convince me Im just being a bratty teenager and I must blindly follow my parents.
Living with the aftermath of growing up in an abusive environment is no joke. You will always feel like you have to continue functioning with a big chunk of yourself ruthlessly ripped out of you. And nobody sees it. You just have to rush and catch on or pretend to, learn everything quicker, instantly heal and pretend like nothing happened. Out of nowhere, no matter where you are, it will all come back again. It will feel like you're in there again, reliving the worse moments of your life every single day without a choice. When the memories finally stop, battling the tears at least long enough so you don't look ridiculous in the middle of a crowd. BC you know damn well last thing you want is sharing those disturbing things you just remembered
And it's not like you get to simply stop talking to those ppl who hurt you so bad. They are your only family afterwards. They'll keep hunting you. If you stop talking to them, how can you help the children you left behind and did nothing wrong? How can you come up with plans together on the best places to hide next time their father gets drunk and violent or what to do when their uncle tries to abuse them bc no one will even listen to them. Literally no one helps. Everybody will just try to make you feel like an ungrateful piece of trash for turning on your own family. And having to deal with the fact that no one who's ever hurt you will ever at least take responsibility for anything they've done. You'll always be the crazy one. For fabricating everything
Idek her. But wow, she made me feel so understood rn. She's experienced much worse than me (in the sexual abuse part). And the guilt of leaving those kids behind so you can make a nice place for them, knowing damn well what they're experiencing without you. And yet, there she is, sharing her painful story and giving others who identify in some way strength
    Shes amazing!
I've always been ashamed of my own story. Never been able to completely share it. And only been able to talk about some stuff online. But watching ppl like her slowly help me open up more and more, understand a little more that there's nothing a child could do, there's nothing I couldve done to deserve those things. Even if just online, feels nice to finally let this bit out
I hope she knows how powerful she is. And the impact she can have on ppl

I knew that I would have to spend a year at the kids' home and then would be set to receive Austudy and be put in a halfway home to live a semi-adult life. She is so beautiful and exudes so much intelligence and strength, fighting tooth and nail not to allow the emotions to prematurely halt her powerful message for even a moment. We need to protect people like her at all cost. Most people make me wish an asteroid would obliterate us all on their best days, but as she recounts some of her worst, she has so much class and dignity, even after so many failed her as a child and abused her and did the unthinkable to her....id gladly go fight a war to protect kids that will grow up to be this strong from the monsters that exist on the other side of the bedroom door at night. Society failed her and many others, but we can draw the line and seek to enact changes that protect the innocent and the victimized. Women with this much spirit and heart and will to survive through it all are worth more than all of the gold on the planet, and to help them as kids before they have to experience these abusive people destroying parts of them, there are very few things in life that could be more important. This lady is the epitome of resilience and success. This cult The children of God was very active in Australia too with the same sexual, emotional and physical abuse. The leader was Anne Hamilton Byrne, a truly evil woman, I remember meeting some of the child survivors in a hair salon I worked at as they'd all had their hair bleached blond if they had blue eyes as apparently she thought it made them look more angelic(we coloured them back to natural), they were young kids. We had no idea what trauma they'd been rescued from tucked away in the foothills of Melbourne. I sincerely hope that all these victims have love and support in their lives now as sadly many have taken their lives as a result of this trauma caused by this evil cult.
