I always try to get mine to play with cat toys also. I try to get him to chase different toys while he’s out free roaming. He literally stops and looks back at me like he’s saying….im a lizard not a cat lol 🤣🤣 then goes back to free roaming ! But… I’ve got one of those cat tunnels and he always has to walk through it a couple times while he’s out walking around lol he’s quite the character !
@@MostlyMonitorMad I will probably always want one but will never have the space. Can you think of good alternatives? Timor monitors? Something in the 2ft or less area.
@@codygervais995auffenbergi are really cool, but even captive bred ones can be very shy and hard to win round. Tristis are the small monitor most likely peach throats IMO... They have the same level of reactivity to movement, energy levels, etc, etc.
@@310ExoticReptiles yes... The one out is super chilled. The one in the viv is mostly, but not a fan of being picked up and will wriggle and jump down........ He also has an intense hatred/fear of the gloves I wear if I need to hold him for more than a couple of seconds, as I did today when switching them in to the vivs the other was in...... He bit the glove a couple of times 😂
@@MostlyMonitorMad I want to build my Nile a enclosure like you have your peaches I love yur enclosures and is that the new one you just picked up recently
@@310ExoticReptiles thanks. Yes, the one wandering is the newest arrival.... 2.2 live with me and a friend got himself a third female which lives with him, but to come and visit the males.

@@MostlyMonitorMad so awesome man that’s fire right there
Peach throat?
@@JAwtunes yes, both of them are.
Excuse me but I’ve seen in some of your past videos that you have or do keep black headed monitors what do you think is a good enclosure size?
@@manuorenstein4153 anything 40 cubic feet or above is a great size, a bit below can be good also. Minimum 8 square foot of floor space, ideally more.
