I have a question 🙋🏽♂️ I have been researching quite a bit about these guys. In regards to their lifespan. The net is saying 10-15 years old but people from the boards and others I have talked to are saying they only live for about 2-3 years at the most in captivity. What can you say about their lifespan?
Females can live up to 10+ years, probably just to keep an eye on the males for a few extra years. Meanwhile, the poor males hit their peak at 2-3 years and then… poof, it's all downhill-guess they couldn’t handle the commitment (they just die of natural causes)!
Its really not necessary, as tarantulas in the wild do not have a water dish... they mostly kind of get their moisture from the prey that they devour :) but it does NOT hurt to provide a water dish. Maybe just more maintenance.
Hi! I own 2 third instar T. seladonia slings and I was wondering could they possibly be fine without a trapdoor? One of my slings decided to web up near the lid and I don’t want to destroy the webbing when it’s time to feed/water
So, i have several slings that have not YET made their trapdoor yet. From my experience, the ones that do not make the trapdoors, eventually do. I do have to tell you though, the ones that are late to making trapdoors, have a LITTLE bit of a higher death rate, but not by too much. I would try to maybe add a few more holes in the cork bark to entice them to make a trapdoor. I would say if it made the door near the vial, destroy it so it goes to work on one of the cork bark holes.
"If you're comfortable they're comfortable", is subjective, everyone keeps their homes at different temps, furthermore to generalize all tarantulas like they are not from different parts of the planet is crazy. I can keep a human in a dark no space closet with no heat, they'll survive, but is it right?
This is my dream pet. I like the way you talk in your video. ❤
thank you... they are amazing species to keep... but gotta remember, they pretty much always love to hide :) but that is what is so unique about them.
@@UrbanTarantulas Yeah, I was thinking about that. Do they ever give you a good opportunity to take nice pictures of them?
@@avid.gamergirl as long as i take them out, they are always photogenic :) i pretty much take all the epic photos during breeding.
my left ear hears you loud and clear!!!!
Why just the left? lol

Took u a very long time
I own regal jumpers but I would LOVE one of those if no bigger than that and do they like to be handled alot?
Hello, I am the buyer, I want to ask if I can send it to Japan? Can I choose the spider's male and mother? Hope to reply
Does it get any bigger than the size she is now because im afraid of them if they are any bigger..
No water? When I kept tarantulas I always provided a small, shallow water dish.

And you say trap doors how do they do that do they eat the bark?
If i was keeping this as pet. I get big tank and let it just be.
Is there a T. blondi in the huge enclosure behind you?
I think you're referring to the worlds largest Balfour enclosure.
