I have never seen this spider all grown up, all the RUclipsrs had them whilst a tiny thing sling they died, it so beautiful as an adult, thank you for showing her off ! 🕸🕷
You've done a great job being an emissary of spiders. Just last night, i pulled the laundry soap tub away from the wall and was greeted with a wolf spider about 4cm across. I would generally harass it till it went away. This time, I gently slid the tub back, and the next time I looked, it was gone. You saved a spider in the USA from being harassed.
Bless you and the mrs. You don't have to respond to this, I mean this genuinely, not doing it for attention. You two are great people and a great asset to the community. Thank you for providing us these videos both educational and inspiring.
Amazing. I was expecting a teeny tiny spider. Shocking to see her filling up the entire trap door. Her doors camouflage is flawless. Looking forward to the next.
I'm an arachnophobe desperately hoping these wonderful videos will help me break free from that phobia, and they are SO helpful!! Thank you so much!!! And I literally GASPED at how beautiful she was!! And she's so adorably smol and shy!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥ That trap door!!!!! I love her!!!!
Once again, you have shown me something I haven't seen yet. I have seen many slings of this species, but never an adult. Why? Because no one can keep them long enough. I had no idea they stayed so small. I am so happy to see the colors don't leave. Hands down the most beautiful. She is like a rainbow. Love the tiny terrarium/enclosure too. Can't wait for the next 🌈🕷rehouse. Thanks again to you and Camera Lady for an awesome vid!
Absolutely stunning! I would love a couple of these. They get bigger than I thought which is even better..great video Dave, your videos and husbandry are top notch
Same, i would love to breed these! I love my Avic's and love it even more that this living juwel has much similarities. You know the first time i saw pics of this one i couldn't believe it is real. Indeed an absolute stunner!
Awesome Video Dave!! I’ve been waiting for an update on these guys! Very beautiful colours! WOW!! And I thought the Versicolour was pretty 😂😂! They’re both stunning! I do have some video suggestions for you Dave: -A day in your life in the Beastie Room -Room Tour ( this one is unavoidable Dave, you have to eventually ). - A beginner’s guide to the world of Tarantulas -A livestream ( maybe when you hit 30K? If so let’s be honest, that’s not far away at all with how fast you’re growing ) Q&A and just chat with your fans? Also I read in another comment that you replied to, you were saying a camera is on the way, what’s the camera name Dave? If you remember of course! Tell me what you think of the ideas in your reply please 😁❤️! See you Thursday Mate!
I have 2 slings that I can't wait to mature. My favorite species! I agree they are the most easy ones I have to take care of. I drip water on their trap door once or twice a week and they eat and molt regularly.
Randomly ran across your videos and wow, that spider's coloration is wild! I'll sometimes see spiders in my house and I just leave them be; they are more than welcome to hang out. Just not too many cobwebs if they please.
ok. this is the most stunning spider ive seen FACT- lifting up the trap door was like opening an engagement ring box to see a jewel covered artwork shes just a painted beauty
I agree with you 💯. I have had my girl about three months. She will absolutely only eat crickets. When she goes on her walkabout, i know it's time for a bigger space. Mine has molted three times in the last couple of months. When I water her, it's droplets of water. She is thriving. Believe it or not, she was a freebie. Thank you for your videos. I greatly appreciate your knowledge.
I have to agree with everyone it is a very beautiful spider, I did read somewhere not too long ago that they were illegal in the U.S?. I think it's so cool that they build up trapdoor on top of a tree bark, I've never seen anything like that and I also agree with everyone that I can't wait to see more about it on your channel in the future. I think they're really cool thank you for sharing Cheers
WOW!!!!!! She's a beauty!!! I have a feeling that there's going to be a happy female trap door spider loving her new home and is going to be putting the finishing touches on her new mansion!! Much 💜 from Calgary,Alberta,Canada!!!
Wow! She's so pretty! It's moments like these that I wish I was able to enter the husbandry world! (Where I live is inaccessable due to laws) Cheers Dave and Camera Lady 😁 what a little ripper!
@@daveslittlebeasties it really is! I think we can keep spiders native to the area, but there's also some licencing laws that make that option hazy 😣 So I create garden areas for all critters I can attract 😂 wolf spiders, red backs, jumping spiders, an many others! Though your beautiful little trap door lady has cogs turning for an overseas move 😂
I must be honest, typically when you speak of the spiders being gorgeous, I don't see them as being gorgeous. I've certainly never seen a spider and thought to myself I want to get into the hobby (although I love your content!). That being said when I saw her I thought to myself I need one!! I'm a responsible person and I'm not going to go buy one on a whim, but WOW!! Coolest spider ever!! 🕷🕸💖🖤🤎💜💙💚💛🧡❤🕸🕷
Great Video Dave :-D For a change he ended like he still wanne say something, then those famous words came out, be gentle be calm and love your spider ^^
Wow, that is the most stunning spider I’ve ever seen. I actually have a slight case of arachnophobia, and your channel has helped ease my irrational fear of spiders. I’ve honestly come to enjoy watching spider content since subscribing to your channel, and have learned to appreciate spiders, instead of fear them.
What a beautiful spider, such beautiful colours. I would love to have one of the. Love this video and watching how great you are with all your spiders 🕸️🕷️❤️
What a beautiful spider - words I never imagined saying, lol! The colours and markings on her, wow - she really is exquisite. And so incredible that she builds that perfectly camouflaged trap door, and lives behind it in a silk-lined boudoir. Bless her, she's utterly gorgeous! What is the typical life span of the breed Dave? And do male/female spiders have the same predicted lifespan (assuming the male doesn't get eaten by the female of course!)
We can expect 6-8 years for a female I would think around 2-3 years for a male , they haven been around the hobby long so we not entirely sure of their lifespan ❤👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Wow, 6-8 years is long - so as a pet owner you'll get better value from a female. Interesting they live so much longer than the male. Thanks for the info Dave.
I'm fascinated by your channel--new sub! Normally, I wouldn't handle spiders the way you do--I use an acetylene torch. Especially with your Japanese funnel spiders. However, it's incredible to me how perception of beauty moderates human emotion. Baby mammals are genetically configured to trigger the nurture response in humans. Beauty is individually but also archetypically perceived. The only spiders I've ever avoided killing have been ones of which I have a visceral perception of beauty. A spider in a park in Rio comes to mind. This jeweled spider is another example. I have never wanted to actually OWN an arachnid until I saw this species in a vid many years ago. It's almost like a diamond ring or a silk carpet I would covet. Yours is incredibly gorgeous. EDIT: Yes, I'm aware of the Lacey Act.
magical little colourful spider, great information on keeping them PROFF , great small visual enclosure to watch them. THANKS CAMERA LADY. i am going to Kettering and if you come hope to meet you 2 wonderful people. many thanks for this video

Hey Dave, just stopping by to let you know how much I enjoy your content. I’ve been researching and studying for 2 years now on tarantula behavior and husbandry before I actually purchase any t’s. People who are entering the hobby have so much to learn from people like you. You are able to explain things into layman’s terms, and your content has taught me so much. I have great appreciation for highly knowledgeable people who take the time to educate others. Keepers like you are a hobbyists treasure. Thanks again!
It’s funny yet endearing how thoughtful and OCD you are when creating your habitats. Whip out that brush, how dare a minuscule speck of Beastie Mix fall between the cracks!!
Wow thats the prettiest and most colourful spider ever seen 😍 totally in love with that what her name ? Bella would be a good name for she is beautiful Hi camera lady great job again x
I have had a T. seladonia for three weeks. She runs around in her enclosure, doesn't want to eat anything, no drosophila, no micro crickets and she doesn't want to build a enclosure although she has everything she needs. Moss crumbs, cork bar pieces and a nice jagged piece of cork bar. Maybe it is because of her size. She is still very tiny. I hope she will grow as big as your little lady. Thanks Dave for the vid.
The best way to get them to build is to drill small 4-5 mm holes in the bark for them, make sure the moss and cork bark drillings are dry and fine nothing too big as slings they are very small with tiny mouths ? it can take a long time for them to build just be patient I had one that took well over a month to build its first trapdoor 👍
@Inn3r Warri0r hope they start eating and settling in soon for. My heart broke for petko after his second sling passed away. Fragile little beauties and sometimes things just happen but, I have high hopes for you and OP! Would love to hear some updates once things start calming down xx
