I couldn't begin to tell you how happy I was when I learned that I did not need to have to take my Colorado in to have its NOx sensor position 1 reprogrammed by the dealer. (2.8 Duramax). It was as simple as removing the old one and replacing it with the new one. After that, I cleared the code and activated driving regen with my Banks iDash, and so far so good. Oh, and the NOx sensor torque is somewhere around 35 ft-lb.

Nice vid!! Elkhart, eh, that's my hometown.
We had a manufactured housing company there and everything we built was being shipped to Florida, so we opened a factory there and I wound up in Florida for the last 38 years!
As always, well presented videos with in-depth information regarding each of your fixes, travels and commentary.
    Thanks! :)

When C Farmer came out to help/save me with my injector connector, he hooked up his scanner to see if I had any other codes and it threw a position 1 Nox sensor and #2 glow plug code. When I got back to my shop I changed both and used the copper anti seize on the Nox sensor. Hopefully I don't have to see how well it works. Lol. Once again, great informative video!

Is the number 2 the same part number as the number 1?

They are definitely different part numbers. I have heard that they're not interchangeable

My 2018 Duramax gave a P20EE CODE and it says NOX sensor catalyst below threshold on my scan tool. I read that was the Position 2 NOX sensor. Any advice there? 218,000 miles on the truck

I was getting the same code around 250k and ran some lucas dpf cleaner through it not expecting much. The code didn't come back so i started using it regurlarly.i slacked off on it because of how pricy it was and about 2 months later it came back so I'm back on regular doses now. No guarantee it will Worrell for you but i believe it's worth a shot

My 18 L5p tossed a position 1 nox catalyst below threshold code. I pulled the sensor and sprayed a mass air flow cleaner( a pure alcohol) into the small holes in the sensor. Gave it a good dose. The alcohol drained out over the course of a couple minutes of shaking it. A fair bit of grainy residue came out. I reinstalled the sensor and it hasn’t been a problem for 1 year. I did read online some advice from an engineer that designed these sensors that he did not recommend using parts cleaner or anything other then a pure alcohol type product like mass air flow cleaner.
